Beautiful, clean venue. Just began swim lessons here with my child and I am really excited to go…read moreback again next week. The pool is large, clean, bright, and well-designed. I appreciate that there is a separate pool for baby swim lessons. Locker rooms were clean also. I really liked our instructor, although I believe she was just filling in and we may get a different instructor next week. Either way, I am very much looking forward to my child growing up knowing how to swim. I learned to swim when I was very young, and it feels important that my child learns this skill too.

I went up to the front desk and asked to use the "Day Pass" I was immediately met with a "you need a member with you" I explained I wanted to check it out and use the "day pass" that was advertised on their website. No apology just a "have you been here before?" I said no and she asked for my license. I explained it was in my car or I had a photo on my phone. she told me what website to go to and i was looking it up and she asked for my license again, i reiterated that it was in my car or i had a photo if that was fine. she just muttered "phone" I was finishing signing up for the pass and she kept asking if i was done yet, i explained i was still finishing up all my info and then she asked again, i was waiting for their internet to load. I handed over my phone once i was done with my license pulled up, she asks me for my last name. I tell her and she types it in. She accuses me of being there before. I tell her i haven't. She then says my sister's name saying i'd had a membership before...my sister has but i haven't ?? She's holding my license with my name on it and accuses me of being my sister. i explain that's my sister and not me. she then says my moms name ?? I AGAIN tell her my name THAT'S SHES HOLDING IN HER HAND. she then just finishes up whatever she's doing and looks at me. i take my phone back and that's it. No apology or explanation on how everything works. The whole time this is happening she's letting this little kid run around behind her desk stealing her toys out of her toy basket. Talking so nicely and polite to him and then turning to me and giving me the worst attitude. Idk what her problem was but after that I don't think i'm going to be going back for a full time membership.

I wish I could give a better review of the Lake Anna YMCA. My husband started working at this…read morelocation last year and it was through a program in Akron for Ohioans with Disabilities. During his one day of employment here, one of the customers decided to make fun of my husband. My husband suffers from Schizoaffective and Bipolar disorder as well as PTSD. It was hard enough for him to just show up and walk through the doors without being picked on. The older gentleman that made rude comments basically called my husband stupid because the man thought he needed help washing the windows. The man that was with my husband was from Ohioans with Disabilities and he was only there as moral support. This older man said, "is it really that hard to wash windows that you need someone to hold your hand while you do it? That's pathetic." Nobody stood up for my husband and he left immediately full of shame and regret. He felt less than as if he did something wrong. It is sad that you cannot even have a safe haven at your local YMCA. It is not the YMCA's fault this man said those nasty things, but nobody made him feel safe after. There were a few employees standing around that did nothing. What has this world become where we just blindly judge another human being? To the man the was rude... I wish I could give you just one day in my husband's shoes. He forgave you almost immediately, I am not so forgiving. Shame on you and the people that witnessed this injustice. Mob mentality at its finest. I fully believe in Karma. What you put out comes back to you 3-fold.
