We sat down to order and realised we were without cash and they only accept cash, but not to worry the amazingly nice girl behind the counter let us stay and eat and drink and then get money. Wow, can't remember when I've had that level of trust or service in a place. I had the toastie with peanut butter, bacon, onion and cheese - was to die for. Before I even thought to take a pic it was all gone. Even the plain cheese toastie was delicious, using a local cheese that I wish I could pronounce or even spell. If you're not up for a toastie go and have a fika - coffee and a cinnamon scroll - also melt in your mouth tasty. Or just have a coffee and soak up the atmosphere.

It's a bohemian, but bright interior with random couches, chairs and tables that make out little seating islands for a medium sized crowd. Free wifi and relaxed atmosphere. This is a great addition to the coffee shop jungle that is Stockholm.

While the menu is small, the wine list is huge. Wines by the glass are varied and reasonably priced. The food menu is limited but has a good variety. The pasta was superb, as was the veal. The "Break the Bank" dessert was fun, and well worth it if you still have room for ice cream, chocolate and other goodies. Service was excellent and our server was very personable and accommodating. By the time we left the restaurant at 8 pm it was nearly full. We're glad we ate there.

Given how many people are obsessed with staring into their phones, surely following google maps to the address won't be tough, but I've learned to lower my expectations of people over time. ANYWAY, I was pleased to stop into a coffee shop that wasn't Espresso House or Fabrique, the latter of which I'm lucky enough to enjoy at home. I was able to grab a seat by the door which gave an interior view (through a window) to their bakery which occupies the other space on the first floor of their building. Despite the baking appearing done for the day at that time, it was neat to see the machinery behind the delectable treats we were having. Coffee was straightforward and lacking in pretension, as you served yourself from the drip coffee thermos in the restaurant. As many have suggested, I'm sure the kanelbulle would have been as tasty as the kardamummabulle and "breakfast bun" (a slightly sweet combo of various nuts and seeds) I had. This moment happened for me at Gilda's Rum and I will remember it as one of the highlights of my trip to Stockholm. My girlfriend and I were walking along the street looking for place to have a cup of tea and a bite of something sweet to eat. Gilda's looked eccentric and whimsical from the outside and that drew us in. Comfy seating, mood lighting, soft music, a great selection of Kusmi teas and various pies and cakes? We struck gold. After retiring to the couch in the main area with our slices of apple pie and chocolate cake and violet teas, we sunk in for the evening. Something about Gilda's was so enchanting. The conversation flowed smoothly and and we were able to thoroughly enjoy eachother's company here. 30 minutes turned into 2 hours and we decided to get a salad since dinner time was approaching. The salad was hearty and delicious, with a VERY generous serving of goat cheese. Another hour passed as we got refills on our teas and the waitress came over with a free cardamom biscuit for us. We were so touched by the gesture and I was reminded of how delicious cardamon is. We stayed until a few minutes before the cafe closed and I ended up having such a lovely, peaceful evening here that Gilda's will always have a place in my heart.
