I sent him all correspondence and anything he asked. Then he sends me a letter stating he was dropping me because I didn't do anything. Phone number, email addresses he gave me all matched. I called him the same day, once again saying I never sent him anything. I lost my temper stating I kept receipts of acceptance of emails, and recorded all calls. He changed his tune, stated he would call me later to refill. He never did. I was left with no choice but to get another attorney. I'm starting to believe after reading reviews from other clients he pulled the same stunt with his age is starting to catch up with him or he's part of the corpate machine. I have been receiving benefits from a group long-term disability policy, in addition to regular Social Security retirement benefits. It's complicated, but Social Security deemed my disability payments to be "earned income". And that my "wage" income was over the limit for an early retiree, and I owed SSA $25,000. Tried to explain to them and got nowhere. I left a message with Mr. Brown, and he made several efforts to reach me,and we finally connected. He impressed me as kind, caring, fair, vastly experienced in situations like mine. He was confident that if I sent him all my documents and the copies of the letters from SSA, that he would walk me through the appeal process and that we would likely be successful. This confidence alone was tremendously valuable to me, and relieved my anxiety. At least someone understood me and my situation and was willing to help. Within a day or two, SSA called to say "never mind". You don't owe anything. I don't think Jim had the power to work thus miracle, but it was certainlywelcome news. I wrote Mr. Brown back and told him that we wouldn't be needing his services. He was very gracious and truly happy for us. I have such a high regard for him and how he communicates with his clients. I can give him the highest recommendation.
