If I could give zero stars I would. I have been ordering from Kai Ping for 9 years, and have never experienced something like this before. We received a $100+ order and multiple items had hair in them, in addition to the sauces having a metallic flavour. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with the restaurant only to be accused of lying and offered a refund for a fraction of the amount paid. I agreed to the refund, but later got a call to say that the manager would not approve a refund and nothing could be done. We will not be back. read more

I was craving Chinese the other day, mostly because I wanted spicy schezwan chicken so bad. I looked up a couple of places online as I wanted to try something new and we decided to give Kai Ping a try. So I called in my order and I loved the fact that the girl on the phone was so friendly easy to talk to and and very helpful. so far I was happy and excited that this might just very well be our new spot. We ordered the spicy chicken, kai ping fried rice, chicken balls (called something else that I can't remember now) , chow main, and vegetables. Again, the service was great upon pick up, they were friendly and helpful. Now here's why it only gets 3 stars... I was so disappointed with my food my spicy schezwan chicken was far from spicy, it was more like sesame chicken. My kai ping rice wasn't flavourful at all the chicken was so bland, no flavour what so ever. The chicken balls were a great size, not so big so I liked that but again like the rest the flavour was lacking. The sweet and sour sauce wasn't the best I've tasted, it actually tasted pretty odd like something was off. I really wish I had better things to say about the food as the service was great. Kudos to the girl who helped us she was awesome but unfortunately the food was lacking and I can't say I'll return. read more

I can't actually even comment on the food as I didn't even get a chance to try any of it. This restaurant gets a 1 star for customer service. I called today to order delivery and have never experienced such vile and disrespectful service over the phone. The woman who took my order was so rude for absolutely no reason and I just couldn't handle it. After several instances of her making ordering 2 simple dishes WAY harder than it needed to be, I politely told her I would like to cancel my order due to her poor customer service skills and then hung up. Attention: this is not a sit down dine-in place. It's a takeout only. I've been sitting on this review for a while now so finally decided to write about our experience. It really can not be compared to the kind of "Chinese" food I get back in Vegas. This was decent. Some turned out ok and others not so well. I'm just going to highlight what turned out alright: The Singapore Style Noodles. (Curried noodles) It was pretty close to what I'm used to but I can see that they cater to more local Canadians and not Chinese people. We'll come back only if we have no food to eat or I'm too lazy to cook, just because it's close to home. :) read more

Had food delivered to hotel we were staying at and asked for place setting for 4. No place settings came with the food. Ordered sprite, got Diet Coke, ordered thick noodles with no spice, got skinny noodles with curry. We are keeping our fingers crossed my husband doesn't get sick from the egg foo young, it tastes bad. read more

We were attending an event near by and decided to go for a walk, and we where headed next door to the sub place and then saw this place, and figure sure. The do not have a big sign and are easy to miss, and they are only takeout or delivery, but in this case that suited us. Over all they were hopping with orders, and fit ours in about 20 minutes later, so we decided to leave, and come back when it was ready. Overall the food and price were what I was expecting with no surprises (good or bad). The short answer is yes if I find myself near by able to to take out and looking for Chinese I would go here. read more

Absolutely horrible service - especially on Father's Day. We didn't receive all of our items and when we called in to ask where the rest of our food was, my mother was treated horribly. The lady on the phone claimed that she was "perplexed" why our $80 worth of food wasn't in the one small bag that she gave us. Insanely rude when we went in for refund, but we got our tip money back and our second bag of our "shit". Terrible customer service. We used to be regular customers, but trust that they won't get our business anymore. There are much better places to get your takeout. read more

Takeout pickup. Have ordered before and food ok but this time it made me sick. Ate it in evening and awoke feeling not good stomach wise. Had oats and herbal ginger tea and was feeling better but ate it for lunch and for balance of day was not good. Thought I had cold or covid. Today after am much better. My favourite Chinese takeout in Winnipeg. We have been ordering from Lily and her family for 19 years! I asked her how long she has been in biz on a recent visit and it's been that long. It's amazing! They still provide super fresh Chinese food (takeout only) but we gobble it up like a pack of hungry wolves. What I really appreciate is they don't fill with onions and other fill like cabbage and use lots of healthy fresh broccoli. We have ordered most everything on the menu and it hasn't changed much in the 19 years. It deliciously- amazingly fantastic! Some of my favourites are beef in Yu Hsing sauce, Cantonese chow mein, triple delight, double dragon w snow peas, eggplant in black bean sauce. Actually....off their menu I haven't had much food I don't like. Prices are very reasonable and I don't think have changed much in 19 years. We have enjoyed this succulent Chinese food for many years and we will continue to order when I am in Winnipeg. For me it's comfort food! read more

Simply the best take out Chinese food in River Heights and Tuxedo. Food is alway hot and seldom do they make mistakes. Dry breaded veal is very good. Kai ping chowmein was is a great choice. Enjoy!! read more
