Absolutely fantastic food and cocktails here. One of the best meals I had on this trip to Spain…read more It's basically a fusion of a Thai and Valencian cuisines in a modern setting on the busy Gran Via. Service was great all around. Attractive, friendly, and competent people. I started with the absolutely delicious Ping Pong cocktail, a mix of lychee and passion fruit purées with gin. Wow was that a great drink! I had two. Next I started with three Guillardeaux oysters. They were so plump and sweet. Astounding, actually. I could have made a meal of these if not so expensive (€3.50 each). I also tried a small croquette of Roquefort and spinach that was everything a croquette should be. Next up was an amazing Thai fish cake. It was crunchy and tender and mildly spicy with a nice hit of fresh coriander. It was a starter that I was sad to see disappear so quickly. It's a taste I want to experience again. My main course was a tiradito of local seafood. It's basically a ceviche but they amped up the flavor with a Thai-inspired marinade. The shellfish were amazingly sweet and tender and played well with that sauce. A very generous portion, too. I finished with dessert, a small disc of cheesecake topped with both a caramel sauce and berry purée. Neither was overly sweet. It was surrounded by beautiful chopped, toasted hazelnuts and a crunch derived from coffee. The entire dish worked beautifully. All of this came to €65! Very good value. Whoever is in the kitchen is seriously talented. This place is a winner. Go, eat like Thai royalty, and enjoy!

A great find, tucked away a short distance from Plaza de la Virgin, Delicat offers a gourmet dining experience without any unnecessary pretentiousness. The dining room is quite small with about 9 tables, but we had no problem getting seated immediately on that slow and rainy day. Lunch service is a 12€, five course prix fixe menu. Each of the offerings are delightfully delicate in presentation, with a distinctly asian/indian flavor. For our lunch, we got: Green pea soup - Savory and creamy, fresh pea flavor Chicken skewer - Crispy indian curry chicken draws contrast with the side of tomato salsa and guacamole Shrimp and dumpling - Cute dish finished with edible flowers, fresh and simple with a delicious hoisin type sauce Pork ribs - Tender braised pork w/ a sort of chinese, five spice inspired flavor and a hint of wasabi in the side of mashed potatoes Basil ice cream - Surprisingly forward basil flavor, over macerated strawberries and whipped cream The small portions of each dish leave you craving for more, but our appetites were satiated by the end of the meal. Overall an excellent value for the exquisite experience.
