Masusa Paella Bar - Chicken croquettes

I was recommended the sardines to start -- lightly fried fillets served over a bed of crunchy patatas, peppers, and delicate petals. Beautifully plated and absolutely delicious, it was the perfect portion since I was also planning to order paella. Masusa offers both personal-sized and larger paellas, which was ideal as a solo traveler. Co-owner Ana recommended the black rice paella with fish, calamari, and monkfish cooked in squid ink. It was flavorful and even better with their special garlic sauce. The couple seated next to me ordered the Paella Russafa -- a spicy red seafood paella -- and kindly shared a taste. Delicioso! I'm so happy I had the opportunity to dine at Masusa. Many thanks to the owners, Ana y su hermana, for creating such a warm and homey restaurant experience.

Part of my Spanish tour included a one night stay in Valencia. Luckily our hotel was close to some…read morerestaurants and we came across this paella restaurant that our tour guide suggested as previous guests enjoyed the food. The paella is served in 2 person portions since we were 3 we had to order either 1 pan or 2 pans. We ended up getting 2 pans. The food did take alot of time to prepare as they are made fresh to order. We order black squid ink paella and the seafood paella. The black paella was really good and taste was on point. The seafood paella was too salty and we had to drink alot of water after our meal. We did encounter an issue with our order they brought some croquettes and hot peppers to our table. We did not order them and asked them to take it away. Overall the meal was good but if I had a chance to redo it I should have tried the duck paella or the Valencia paella (rabbit and chicken). Thank you for the memorable meal and we were able to dine on the heated patio with some fellow guests on our tour.

For our entree we shared a large Seafood paella- which was delicious. We had white wine and for dessert we had Flan. A nice dining experience to which I would return.

This all made sense as the highly rated and reputable Paella restaurants were open from 1-4:00 or so. One thing for sure make your reservations before you get to Valencia. We were lucky and got a table at 3 a day before. Smaller/cozy spot and looked like they had a 2nd level. We started with a Sangria and a Majou. For appetizers, it was the recommended Gambas with Chili Aoili-exquisite -I was really concerned that we couldn't get any better after this. The Bread with Aoli and olives was also tasty. Paella Valenciana (with Rabbit/Chicken) is the authentic one and has to be ordered a day in advance. We ended up ordering the Seafood (de Marisco) Paella which can be ordered same day. Filled with all types of seafood-delicious! Table next to us ordered the one with Lobster which looked like a winner also. Service was excellent! With the two sisters who were Owners helping with our table. They've been around since 1951. Would highly recommend!

First, it represents the largest produce market in Europe, spanning 86,000 square feet and housing over 1,200 stalls. With its towering dome (Photo 3) and basilica layout, this market feels huge... ...but not intimidating. This space is far less a tourist magnet than a daily functioning, community-focused operation heavily used by the local populace. We saw businesses specializing in fresh rabbit, snails, and specific bean varieties for authentic Valencian paella. There were entire stalls dedicated to freshly harvested saffron, local Valencian citrus, and local seafood like eel and cuttlefish. Of course, for your more immediate noshing needs, you can also find appetizing baked goods, Middle Eastern sweets, and Jamon by the slice. The Art Nouveau architecture is stunning with its iron-and-steel framework and stained glass roof panels. Located in the heart of the old city in Ciutat Vella, it's close to other key landmarks like La Lonja de la Seda (The Silk Exchange) and Catedral de Valencia. RELATED - Exploring Valencia? The prices here are pretty good I saw the paella for 6 or 7€ which is pretty cheap although the food is premade and just heated up. I would recommend a visit here when spending time in Valencia.
