I had lunch here with Auntie Nadine. The main street that runs through the heart of Kaimuki is Waialae Ave. They have a ton of eateries in this area. It's honestly the only reason that I come here. Some of my favorites are Noods Ramen Bar, Hale Vietnam and Via Gelato. The biggest hub here is the Waialae Plaza. Happy Days, Big City Diner, Magoos and Nana Ai Katsu are some of the tenants. They have a big lot that you can pay and park in. Street parking is difficult to find.

What happens in Kaimuki will remain at Kaimuki. Sorry but I can't help myself not to share my juanderful (wonderful) experience in this humble town. Just a 15minute drive I will be immersed in this town and every time it gives me aches on where to dine, to shop and to park as well. LoL. Too many of everything and every now and then newly popped up restaurants are coming. It was overwhelming - in a good way. This town will never get old and if does, this will never get out of trend amongst locals and tourists alike. This town has always something to offer for every ages in life. There are also downside as well (like every town in every place): parking, trash, homeless people, annoying customer services and traffic. It's normal and either we like it or not, we all need to deal with it to get it over. Overall, t'was a pleasure doing business in here. Come visit and enjoy! Mahalo for reading and enjoy juandering fellow yeeps!

The OG K-Town is so showing how things are done! Homegrown up in Kapahulu area and was pretty much kept in the general area there, then as I grew older and got experience outside towards Kaimuki not knowing how blessed I am to have all this basically in my backyard. Still many of the old has remained and new small business have founds its way each are so individually special in its own way you see crowds of people around different places outside waiting patiently for their turn. From upscale to small scale there is so much going on that sometimes I need the help from Yelp to find them. Keeping it Kaimuki will always have a special place in my heart...Thank you!!

In a very organized fashion, I received the invitation and quickly RSVPed to lock this into my calendar. For a reasonable set price, we enjoyed a fresh sashimi salad, udon, and a choice of poke bowl or Nigiri. I really appreciated the gently event reminders from Terry K. because it gave me time to assemble goodie bags for 20 guests. Thank you Li Y. for picking me up and so glad we were able to find parking. The food was delicious and the service was stellar. I really enjoyed the crisp salad with fresh sashimi on top! The yuzu salmon poke bowl was incredibly delicious over seasoned rice. The udon was perfect finish our pre fixed meal. This was an excellent opportunity to catch up with friends, including our former CM Emi :) Thank you to everyone who brought goodies to share too. Mahalo again Terry! We started with the endive and grapes with burrata, which was refreshing, cold, and perfectly balanced in flavor. The highlight for me was their take on Carbonara -- not a pasta dish, but just as indulgent, with slow-cooked egg, pancetta, and peas. Rich, comforting, and absolutely fabulous. The "extras" are not to be missed. The oysters were pristine, the Hokkaido uni brioche lived up to its reputation (a must-order!), and the focaccia was simply to die for -- crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside, and perfectly timed to arrive alongside the carbonara. The beef cheek with homemade cavatelli was hearty, tender, and packed with flavor, while the meal ended on a perfect note with a classic crème brûlée. Leila's bar program deserves its own spotlight. Their cocktails are always among the best in town -- inventive, balanced, and downright fun. Even the mocktails are crafted with the same creativity; my mango lassi came topped with a thick, airy mango foam that turned a simple drink into a delightful surprise. Between the rotating menu, consistently excellent food, and inventive drinks, Leila is the kind of restaurant you want to return to again and again. Highly recommend making this a regular stop -- especially if you love being surprised by what's next.

We saw some people illegally parked on the street right on the corner, but they didn't care, they would brave a citation just for these amazing treats! I am sure the neighbors who live across from this place think this is a massive headache, to have such a popular chocolate place right in their own neighborhood - either that, or a blessing, since they can just walk right across! There are 4 tiny stalls in the driveway in the front of the Doggie Bakery and this place, but it looks far too challenging to get in and out and onto the main street, which is insanely busy on a weekend. We parked in the neighboring lot and purchased something from another business just so we could get some chocolates here. If the parking situation were better, I'd come back. I purchased the Hokkaido Soft Serve (weekends only, I think), it was delicious but I was expecting more fatty mouthfeel for something that was labeled as "Hokkaido". It was lighter than I was expecting. The chocolates, on the other hand, were fabulous and worth every, expensive, penny. By the way, who the heck nowdays says "worth every penny"? Probably old folks like me who knew what a penny was, and now due to inflation and the Federal Reserve nixxing the penny, it's probably worth 0.0012 cents now. Rainbow Shave Ice - it really does taste like shave ice! I came here mainly for this, as I've heard the hype and the hype is real! Hibiki Whisky Chocolate - nice and lovely. Dubai Chocolate - with gold leaf and everything. The Dubai craze is insane. This was good, but the least of my favorites. Six chocolates + one soft serve = $30.

By mixing cocoa powder, sugar, and melted cocoa butter, they produced a moldable paste that solidified into a "chocolate délicieux à manger" (delicious chocolate to eat), revolutionizing the industry. There was a Spring Dubai Chocolate Bar, delicate mango slices dipped in chocolate, Classic Crunch a le'a (white chocolate, peanut butter, puffed rice cereal, marshmallows, toasted macadamia nuts, dark chocolate chips with a chocolate drizzle), and a trio of delicious truffles (one was definitely rainbow shave ice and two were these had an amazing Hibiki whisky filled center.
