OB-GYN module 2 department My appointment was at 11:20am to take this birth control out of my arm. I got there at 11:15am and there was a huge line outside of the building to get a wrist band. Time was passing and the line was moving very slow. I asked the security guard if I can just go because I'm starting to be late for my appointment. She said I had to wait in line but not to worry because the doctors understand about the line. When I finally got in and went up to OB-GYN MODULE 2, it was 11:46pm. I went up to the receptionist to check-in and she said the doctor is not available to see me because she's on her lunch and will not be able to see me after her lunch. Then she asked if I would like to reschedule. By the way I live all the way in Compton, which is 40 minutes away, and took off work. So no I would not like to reschedule. I asked for a supervisor to talk to her about how it's messed up that I got here on time but the line to get in the building made me late and the doctor won't see me. The supervisor name is Karen and it took her 1 1/2 to come out and see me. Which I understand that people are busy but the receptionist said she will come out in a few minutes. Karen kept repeating she will look for somebody for me but can't promise somebody will take me like 10 times. She found somebody which I appreciate. But guess how long it took for the doctor to take the birth control out of the arm. 5 MINUTES!! I got there at 11:15am and left at 2:40pm. So I spent most of my time there waiting on these people. I understand why they don't allow visitors but, when you have an elderly mom that gets confused and doesn't understand what is going on, it is not right. I try to tell the nurse that took my mom back and all he said "we will see how it goes". I am fully vaccinated and seems that did not matter. This is the third time she has been to Kaiser. The fist time she was by herself and she did not communicate all her issues so of course had to come back. Oh and translators are not very nice, seem to be bothered. Test were run and medications were given. That did not helped her one bit. Has been in tremendous pain so had to bring her to ER. I don't need for her to get more anxious and worried because she has no idea what is going on. A little more compassion would be great. No wonder people have little to no faith in Kaiser. Very disappointed in the lack of concern for elderly patients. I do have to say the Doc was great. Called me and explained everything that was being done and did say a nurse would talk to me when she would be discharged. Next thing you know she is walking out not even in a wheelchair. I asked the discharge clerk and she said it is all in the paperwork work. Nice. As I was leaving, there was a lady that could barely walk crying in pain. The girl that was with her was frantically asking for a wheelchair and not one I mean not one nurse or security guard bothered to help. Unbelievable!!! read more

I'm adding a review here to express my concerns. You guys are great in several areas, but sometimes I believe you can do better. This is in no way a complaint about staff, but more of a policy. I don't park at the ER because it is limited in parking. From experience, I had to go around and park at the main parking and walk to ER. I went in the main building today and told the staff at the door I have to goto ER for my 3 year old. They said due to the pandemic, I would have to go around the building and goto the ER's main entrance. Ok.. when we got there, security told us that only one parent can go in with my child. No exceptions. My wife has a hernia from child birth and you gotta understand my 3 year old is burning with a fever. I got to carry him.. what child who is sick and not feeling would not choose their mother over their father for comfort.. if I took him in, he would have been crying out of control. So we have to make my 3 year old walk in with his mom.. I hope you can empower your staff to allow exceptions to a catch all policy. I'm sure this would make a world of a difference to those parents. read more

As I sit here in the ER on my 6th hour of waiting to see a doctor. This is insane. The staff here is completely incompetent, rude, and lack basic knowledge of their duties. They have zero customer service, I have never in my life had such horrible customer service. There is a man laying on the floor during a pandemic. What the actual hell. My wife gave birth to my daughter here on March 21st with a record of a 9lb 6oz baby! (yup that's my baby girl! ) all the doctors and nurses were extremely wonderful from everyone on the third floor. Paula/priscilla/diana/ashlie/michelle/grace Jr/grace/feli/dr Murphy/dr you/dr Kristen/lan/ I wish I could remember the rest of the RN nurses that helped us. Everyone here is amazing and wonderful. IF I COULD GIVE THIS SHITTY EXCUSE PLACE OF A HOSPITAL 0 STARS I WOULD NO DOUBT!!!!! Just got out of urgent care not even 5 min ago 12-26-23 @ 8:30 pm keep in mind they close @ 9pm, so the very rude lady (didn't get her name smh) was like telling me "next" so me thinking I'm going to get seen nice ! She asks , " what are we feeling today , I reply "I have lung pain" , and before I could utter another word she quickly interrupted me saying " if your coughing we cannot see you right now we're very understaffed and have a lot of patients, but THE ER is open 24 hours you can go there" in a sarcastic way. So why even call me to pretend to service me ask my symptoms then when you assume I have covid immediately turn down my request for attention... I'm not even sick I was just having lung issues and wanted to get them checked out but apparently this lady's self entitled ego was more important!!!!! read more

I've had both my knees replaced by Dr. Khanna at Baldwin Park and highly recommend him and his staff. He was recommended by my primary care doctor after I had a less than acceptable experience with a doctor at Sunset. Dr. Khanna is very knowledgeable and takes time to go over x-rays and procedures. I also like this facility. Unlike Sunset, everything is in one place, there's valet parking available, and it's laid out well if you have mobility issues. read more

When I broke my arm in 6th grade and the bone was so bad that you can see a clear bump on my skin. I was in by hysterics and my mom took me to the ER. The receptionist said it's nothing and to go to urgent care if it really hurts. We went to urgent care and they directed us to pediatrics. We waited two hours to see a doctor and she sent us to X-Rays. After they were taken we waited four hours to see a result. Turns out I broke my humerus in half and along with one other bone plus I dislocated my clavicle. I was stiting there for four hours without any pain meds whatsoever in a busy room. I got surgery the next day and that was alright I had to get four pins on my arm so that wasn't cool. I am fine right now and can move my arm perfectly :) read more

My sister went in for a shoulder surgery and Dr.Raffy Mirzayan completey ruined her. She is now permanently disabled and not able to work! This doctor should have is license revoked. It is unacceptable what he is done to my sister. How many patients lives are ruined because of this man??? She has no feeling in her hand or fingers because of him. Shame on this man !!! He didn't even apologize knowing what he has done to his patient! His response was "well I didn't know you had breast cancer" So unprofessional! This man is dishonest. Absolute worse hospital ever! My gf had a miscarriage and they dragged their feet all day. We arrived at 4:00pm and didn't get a bed until 6:45pm. They did blood work and left the room without telling her anything and didn't return until 9:00pm. She didn't get to check out until 12am. read more

**EMERGENCY REVIEW** I came in to the ER when trying to check in the lady that was checking the patients in made me wait like 3-4min while she was talking and laughing with co workers. Finally once I was checked in I asked her a simple question if I had to be isolated and her response was "HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO KNOW IM NOT THE PHYSICIAN BUT IF YOU WANT TO BE ISOLATED GO SIT OUTSIDE" she's the rudest older lady ever. If I could only rate them a zero what they deserve. When you go into emergency with your husband whom just had a stroke and the ER doctor is not familiar with the symptoms,that is not a safe ER to go to. She discharged him told him all he needed was some therapy and he will be back on his feet. That was not the case I decided to take him to another hospital and they immediately diagnosed he had a stroke and said if the ER doctor would of know he had a stroke and given him the proper treatment he would not be as bad as he is now. He was admitted to the hospital and after a month they now transferred him for therapy , something that incompetent doctor should of done... by the way if you go to their ER be careful for Dr. Fernandez ( female ) whom misdiagnosed my husband. My son and I made reservations online for COVID-19 saliva test at Kaiser in Baldwin Park for 12/24. We had a very bad experience for this visit. Not only the two and a half hours long wait time sitting in the car to complete the whole procedures, their staff provided very poor services to us. They made an error to give me a nasal / throat swab test which was not my request. They treat us not the same way as they treat other customers. I saw them walked to each car with two or more staff. They walked to both the passenger side and the driver side to complete the testing for customers in the cars and customers left right after it's done. I am not sure if this is a racial issue. We are Chinese. When it's our turn, only one staff came to us on the passenger side. I told her I requested a saliva test not a swap test, she said she can do the swab test gently so I had to agree. But she did it too gentle which made me wonder if the test will be useful. My son told her he had done the saliva testing bottle on his hand but the lady did not listen and told us to park our car on the side (parking C3). We sit there and waited. Finally someone came to our car. She had a very bad attitude and she asked my son to give her the bottle. She did not even look to make sure the bottle was done correctly and she threw it into a bag. My son then got a testing result back today. The result cannot be decided because the test said there was not enough data. I have not received any results yet. read more

Ok so my review is for their Emergency Department, there pharmacy and for the one appointment i have had there. Appointment: this is not my regular doctors office but it was the only location that had an immediate appointment open. I went in, and they called me within 10 minutes. They were very nice and quick. the nurse was super friendly and the doctor was very attentive and really listened to what was wrong and asked questions. I really felt like people cared about what was wrong and tried to really help me get better. Pharmacy: I always go to this pharmacy because its open 24 hours. I get off work late sometimes and i like that i can take my time and not have to rush to try to get there before they close. They are usually pretty quick and i have never had a problem there. Emergency Department: this is the reason my it lost 3 stars!!! i was in a minor car accident not to long ago and i went to the emergency because i was in really bad arm and back pain. I hit my door when the other car hit me. Well i went and they called me in. They told me to put a gown on and they sat me on a freaking chair in the hallway. Uncomfortable much! I sat there with my clothes in my arms, embarrassed, cold, in pain, oh and holding a pee cup that no one ever took from me, so i left it on the chair. The doctor finally comes over and administers me while on the phone the ENTIRE time! Seriously! All he told me " you will be in more pain within the next couple days,a nurse will bring you a Tylenol." ARE YOU KIDDING ME! this was the worst experience i have ever has with Kaiser, and the nerve to charge me a $230 co payment. I payed $230 to sit on a chair and get told the pain will get worse. I'm currently leaving a review for the ob department. I had high expectations from kaiser but they have only filled me up with frustration and stress. If you are looking forward to having a natural birth delivery at the hospital, well kaiser isn't the place to make it easy. Everything I have learned is from doing my own research. They don't like people who know what they want. I have asked what options they have to offer the most natural environment to deliver naturally. So far I seen four drs or midwives. There response " what do you mean ? What do you want? " why not be upfront and not answer me with a question. Setting up appointments is horrible. The call center takes long to answer. Before you even get to talk to any one in the department , you need to wait a day to get a call back. I asked for a list of midwives so that I can just look them up and set up an app. And they were rude about it. If I could change my insurance I would but for now I'm stuck with kaiser. Yet I'm still hopeful to find the right midwife. The only dr I truly recommend is dr.Goberman but she only attends high risk pregnancy. So I couldn't see her anymore. Other than that the other two drs who I had conversations about natural birth are eskandari and neilkaski which both were so negative and rude about my choices. It helps if the midwife is in alignment with the client. Hope they thrive to make it a better experience for every mommy no matter their birth plan. read more

My father was a patient and was not well when released from the hospital did bot get receive proper care. When i requested assistance they nurse said unless he's dying we can not help him. The ER is horrible place. It's a cesspool for Covid infection. There is no Covid guidelines. They check your temperature That will touch your forehead And the back of your neck. There's no touchless thermometer used. Also, the Waiting period is ridiculous. It takes forever to be checked in. They do not separate Covid patients from non-Covid patients. ~ Baby Delivery ~ I have been part of the Kaiser system for the majority of my life and have always loved being part of an HMO because of all of the in house services. This review is specific to my delivery experience at Kaiser Baldwin Park. When you deliver in the Kaiser system, your OBGYN may not necessarily be the doctor on call that night. This was fine with me since I didn't want to worry about waiting for my OBGYN to drag herself from home and drive to the hospital when I went into labor. That said, my OBGYN, Dr. Randel, was excellent, she was friendly, knowledgeable and made me feel well prepared for labor and delivery. After my contractions had started increasing in frequency and intensity I was admitted and taken to my room with my husband. The room was huge and very nice (if hospital machines and lights don't freak you out). The nurses and doctors were great and made me feel very comfortable, especially once the epidural kicked in. My husband got to sleep on the "pull out" couch which wasn't that great, but there was a huge lounge chair that was similar to the Ikea Poang chair that was really comfortable. After delivering we were moved to the recovery room with our baby, we had our own room and bathroom. Again the nurses and doctors were really great about keeping me updated on my medical care and making me comfortable. The room was nice and was big enough to accommodate my huge family, but could have used an update in decor (which apparently they are currently working on). The food was ok, the first day I was relegated to an all liquid diet that included broth, and juice. It wasn't amazing cuisine but it was great after a full day of not eating anything. The next day I was able to have some salmon which was surprisingly good! So overall, I had a great experience with my labor and delivery; and while I would say I can't wait to deliver there again... I think I will wait a year or two! read more

Took my grandmother to urgent care, and she was prescribed medication. We went to the first floor pharmacy in the main building by starbucks, and all of her meds were things you could find over the counter. Pharmacist said 20 minutes, ok, sounds good. An hour later we're still waiting for Tylenol and 2 other pills, and I get up to ask how much longer. A young female receptionist with brown hair gave us attitude and told us about 5 more minutes. 20 minutes later my grandmother gets up to ask, and the same receptionist was very rude to her, showing obvious age bias. 5 minutes later they call us up to the counter... to tell us it's going to be 15 more minutes. When we finally got the pills almost 2 hours later, another female receptionist with black hair was "helping" us out. She was also very rude, and when my grandmother told her she had taken the pills already and knew what to expect, the receptionist rolled her eyes, literally threw everything into the bag which she then slammed onto the counter, said "fine then" and left. Horrible service by these 2 female receptionists, this was around 11-12:30 on a Thursday. Absolutely appalled at their rudeness. 2 hour wait for three medications is ridiculous, at least have the staff be more understanding rather than being rude to an elderly patient. read more

I come here on a monthly basis since I got transferred from Huntington Memorial to do check-ups on my arm and leg injuries from my accident so I'm getting pretty acquainted with this location. It's really great how well the establishment is as inside sitting areas are large for patients who just needs something to do (i.e. read magazines, listen to pianist play a few songs, sit and read). They even have a Starbucks located outside if people get thirsty as well as a farmers' market on Friday mornings. Definitely a place that has many things to do for their patients. They have their own parking structure with plenty of spaces if you come early or days not close to holidays (came close to Christmas month a few days ago and it was crazy busy and parking was NUTS). My only gripe is how huge the parking structure is and how there's no tram service (for people with walking issues). I've just broken my leg recently and found walking to find the exit/entrance to the parking structure and finding my car very difficult given my circumstances and my leg would always hurt from all the walking. It would easier for people with leg issues or handicapped patients if there was some sort of tram service. They also provide valet parking for $5.00 which is pretty cheap although they do get filled really fast from what I've seen. The doctor I have in orthopedic department (Dr. Glenn Diekmann) is such a wonderful, empathetic, and knowledgeable doctor that I really appreciate all the things he's done for me and always so very caring of my feelings whenever something wasn't going right or needed adjustment to my bone healing. Orthopedic department also offers a children's section and their furniture seems much newer and cleaner as opposed to radiology department where chairs were looking pretty old (or used much more often). I also love all the staff from orthopedic department, they're funny and so chill with great personalities. :) read more

I visited the "Nose, Ears, & Throat" lab. Parking was quite messy because of the construction but I found a space quickly and parked. Upon arriving at the massive stream-liner looking hospital building, I was enchanted by the fountains and ducks! They were so cute, wadding around and swimming... or rather, floating at their own pace. Walking inside, I navigated through the hallway, the main lobby, and on to Elevator B. There were people but not too many, and many of them were quite kind and minded their own business. I went up the elevators, exited on my floor, and found the room quite easily, The wait didn't take very long, the doctor (Dr. Kim) was kind patient but very busy. The nurse was sweet and chatted with me a bit, which made me feel more comfortable. I retraced my steps, making a stop at the restroom, and found it to be a quick trip and an easy-to-navigate day. I got in my car, pulled out, and pulled away as another car, quickly, took my spot. This hospital, once the construction is finished will be quite the spot! I hope they do it soon because it's quite busy over there!! read more

If you are thinking of becoming a member or are already one and thinking of coming to this office. You better damn well have something to record your conversations with. Because the doctors here will tell you one thing and say your insurance plan should cover it. Then 2 weeks later, you get a bill for the so called "covered" procedure. That's what happened to my wife and I. Being a first time Kaiser patient, and after hearing so many good things about Kaiser, my wife and I decided to set up her first appointment. She clearly confirmed with the Kaiser Member services Rep that she wanted to do only the "preventative care" check up or your annual physical check up. So they confirmed and it was scheduled. A couple of weeks later, I take my wife to the Kaiser and she checks in. Does her preventative care check up and during the check up she asks a simple question regarding her health, like you would with any other doctor. Now here is the tricky part for those of you who are unfamiliar with Kaiser. DO NOT ASK ANY QUESTIONS! How Kaiser works is if you ASK, a question about your health not related to the current check up, you are now being billed for it. STUPID right? But that's how Kaiser works. So of course when I went in for my own check up, I had already experienced the consequences of this, however that can be explained another time. So back to my wife's story, since my wife asked a simple question, the Kaiser doctor referred her and scheduled her to do some procedures to which my wife agreed, thinking it was covered. My wife goes to her next appointment to which they state she's going to be doing an ultrasound to check for something. She asks the doctor if its going to be covered and of course being a Kaiser doctor, the doctor says its covered by her insurance. So she does the procedure then after she gets the results back after a week, the doctor schedules her for ANOTHER procedure since something "came up". So of course my wife was worried and agreed to it. She goes in for her next appointment with another doctor and after checking in, the doctor doesn't even tell her anything about what she is doing and goes right to doing ANOTHER ultrasound. So there was no permission given from or confirmation with my wife before doing the procedure. Afterwards, my wife asks the doctor if this was covered and again, the doctor said its covered by the insurance. Three weeks later, my wife receives a bill for both the ultrasound procedures done, a $700 bill. Of course, we were shocked since the doctors told her it was covered so we filed a claim with Kaiser. Kaiser member services basically told us they will investigate. A month later, they reply saying, "The doctor never told you that. You are wrong since the doctor never confirmed that." WTF? okay so how do you go about verifying who is right and who is lying if its just "oh they said they didn't say it so we believe them." So I filed a claim again and again a 3rd time, to which finally Kaiser tells me, "sorry you can't file any more complaints. You are out of them." WTF?!?!?!? How do you run out of complaints you can file? So Kaiser basically says, after 3 complaints you are screwed good luck go complain else where. Long story short, they put our bill into collections, my wife's credit is now affected by this and its all because Kaiser is a big company that feeds on unsuspecting new patients who end up paying for a bill that should be covered I've gone to my own appointment after all this and again, I experienced the same thing, the doctor asking me if I wanted to do this procedure since they "recommend" it. Of course I asked if it was covered and they told me the same thing, "yes it should be covered by your insurance" This time I was very clear and said "No, is it covered 100% by my insurance or not, do you know, Yes or no?" Then he said, "I have no idea, but it should be since you have insurance" So I said, "in that case, anything that you cannot confirm 100% is covered by my insurance, I am not doing it." This has truly been a nightmare for my wife and I. We are no longer Kaiser members and will NEVER go back to Kaiser. It may convenient with everything all available in one place but I'd rather know 100% what I'm paying upfront, sign agreements saying that these services I am doing are "not covered" and will have to be paid for than to go through the Kaiser doctor, "it should be covered by your insurance" bullshit. If you don't believe me, check it out yourself. When you go in for your check up, they will "recommend" all kinds of services. STAY AWAY and you will save yourself some money. read more

This review is for the ER. Got a call at 1215 am from assisted living home that dad was taken here by ambulance due to chest pains and vomiting. I got here about 1am and was immediately let in to see dad. It's NOW 523 am and NO doctor has yet to visit. The nurse says they are waiting for the "other" doctor? WTF is the "other" doctor!? The staff are okay. Not very friendly or helpful. I've never worked in an ER but I'm sure it is stressful so I understand. His freaking monitor has bien beeping for the last 20 minutes as his blood pressure fluctuates between normal and high and NO ONE has come in here to see why it's beeping to begin with! Hopefully the OTHER doctor will be here soon. I need to find some coffee! read more

I received a response from Kaiser no I do not want to do this in private and have it white washed or covered up I would rather respond on Yelp in a public forum. When speaking to the education department and to receptionist in doctors offices most laugh when I talk about getting actual real health information most admit Kaiser does not want to cure anyone that would defeat their purpose which is to sell lots of drugs and collect lots of co-pays.
