A four hour colonoscopy experience is insane. My appt for the procedure was 8am. I was asked to be there at 7am. The clerk took my DL and ID and told me to take a seat and wait for my name to be called. Around 810 (hour and 10 minutes) she called my name to fill out a form. I had to wait for my procedure. At around 900 my husband asked what is going on? We saw so many come in well after us but called before us, it was ridiculous. I finally get to the back and the woman's machine is not working right. I know because she assured me "it's the machine not you". Was that ever a concern? I sat there for what seemed forever in that cold non-private area. Listening to sad news being given, super happy talkative people and watching employees go back and forth (because my curtain was not fully closed). The doctor arrives, asks a few questions and announces that he'll be back in 20 minutes. Guess what, he wasnt. I wake up from the procedure, and one woman starts processing my paperwork (she is the reason this is 2 stars instead of 1). She prints my information out and another woman takes over. As she is going over the paperwork she abruptly leaves because a signature is missing. I guess it was urgent to let the prior employee know her mistake. She comes back and continues when she finds another problem, again abruptly leaving midsentence. They decide it is important enough to reprint it. When she returns, she gets through it with no abrupt exits. After a not so private putting my clothes back on, thank goodness , its time for me to leave. The woman who wheeled me out was visibly annoyed but put on a fake smile. At this point I was grateful for it. My husband's experience was also trying because they never updated him, and he made the calls himself to find out about picking me up. What a great experience today. I had been stressing for 3 months about getting my colonoscopy done, and finally today arrived. I had not slept in almost 48 hours. The waiting room was crazy busy. Almost every seat was taken, granted it wasn't a big waiting area at all. I didn't wait in the waiting area at all. Just way too many people for me. Check in process was below ideal. Just didn't feel that the office staff were pleasant or hat they're not even happy with their job. Regardless, customer service was average to below average. I wasn't here for myself. When the procedure was done, they called me and let me know to pick up in about 10-15 minutes. I waited about 30-45 minutes in my car outside the pick up door from the time they said to pick up. WTH! If someone asked me if I would recommend this place, I would say find another provider. BEWARE!!! They will go through your personal property while you're in procedure. This place should investigate their employees for theft! My mother came in for a procedure & when she came out she was missing $300 from her purse. She paid her co pay with cash so she knew the exact dollar amount left in her purse. She brought this to the office's attention & they told her "let us know when you find your money" & had ZERO care for the situation. I had the most professional and comfortable GI procedure at Glendora Digestive Institute. Located in the beautiful city of Glendora. Dr. Adam Snyder my gastroenterologist, is amazing. He gave me detailed directions This was my first, routine GI procedure, so of course I was a little nervous. The GDI staff helped me through my nervousness by assuring me that I would be ok. The procedure took about 3 hours total. Every staff member at GDI, from the front desk receptionist to the GI doctor, was professional and caring. My husband was notified to pick me up( because you can't drive after procedure or get an uber) about 30 minutes before it was time for me to be picked up. The patient prep area was clean and the temperature was a bit cold, but I was given two very warm blankets to help. All the staff were very kind and helpful and made me feel very comfortable. I had my procedure appt at 7:30am and was asked to arrive at 6:30am. The nurses were waiting in their cars when we arrived at 6:23am. My husband and I waited at the door and rang the bell to be let in. No one opened the doors. At this time, we see the nurses and staff outside walking to another door saying that they will let us in in a moment. So we wait outside in 55*. After about 10 minutes of waiting outside I rang the doorbell again. No one answers even though we see shadows walking in front of the door 3 times. After ringing the bell a couple more times they finally open the door. This is strike one in my books. We waited in the waiting room for about 30 minutes before anyone lets me into the back to get ready for the procedure. Meanwhile, I am not feeling to great with it being cold in the waiting area. Finally, I get called about 6:55am, to go to the back. The nurse Claudia was extremely helpful and kind, explaining what needed to be done. As I got myself ready, I was still very cold and asked for a warm blanket (the items in the bed were extremely cold-blanket, gown,etc. She did and I felt a little better. Fast forward to the actual procedure, Is it common practice to wake up during the procedure? NO! But I started to wake up while the probe was in my anus! I was mumbling, awake, asking what was happening and I could feel numerous thrusts of the probe. IT WAS PAINFUL!!! The wheeled me back to recovery, which wasn't ever a recovery period. I was exhausted but asked to get dressed and the doctor would be out to see me. I couldn't get up and I asked to wait and rest. The nurse said okay, she'd give me 5 more minutes. I felt rushed so I got up and started to get dressed. When I was dressed the doctor, Dr. Patrick Truong came back to speak with me. I asked him if it was common practice to have the patient wake up during the procedure and his answer was, "that he wanted me to start waking up"! WHAT? I told him that I felt them still inside with the probe. His answer was yes, they want the patient to start waking up before they get to recovery. Again, what?? Also, I asked him why my throat hurt to swallow, it felt like I was poked. He said, it was normal and that it would go away in a day or two. Since I have never had this procedure done before, I said okay. All day on Wednesday and now today Thursday, it still hurts to swallow. I have spoke to both my parents who have had a number of these procedures in the past, but not done by this doctor. They have told me that at NO time is the patient supposed to wake up during the procedure and that they have never had discomfort from swallowing after their procedure for more than a few hours. I am going on day 2 with swallowing issues. I will be calling their offices today to complain and find out what really happened and why this happened to me. read more

Thank goodness my first experience having a colonoscopy was at this location. Every single person I encountered were friendly, smiling and so welcoming. I truly wish I could recall all their names but honestly, everyone was wonderful. The doctor was equally kind. I must say the bed side manner was apparent and very appreciated. Getting a colonoscopy is uncomfortable and not at all something one looks forward to but this facility made my experience easy and not at all uncomfortable. They explained everything in detail. Outstanding facility! I recently had a colonoscopy there. I was greeted by Tanya, who took my information in a very timely manner. Next, I was called in (early) by Francine, my pre-operative admitting nurse. I cannot tell you how comfortable she made me feel :). Thanks Francine! First and foremost, everyone here, from the front reception to the back nurses, are amazing. I went in for a colonoscopy and my body was not handling the prep too well from the day before. They were very empathetic to the pain I was in and explained how it was very common. The three nurses that took care of me prior to the procedure were so very nice and made me as comfortable as I could be. The nurse during the procedure was totally awesome. But my hat is off to Connie. She was my recovery nurse and she was beyond amazing. She alone would be a reason for a 10 star review. My partner would give it three stars at best, strictly due to building appearance and location. If you just want to get the exam done, the place is fine. Office is an unusual area. I was circling the area looking for a 'typical' medical center that are usually multi stories. The location of the facility is in a retail area and next to a "99 cent" store. Partner said the waiting room looked like the waiting room at a crowded Jiffy Lube. (No pun intended) and was angry that my primary HMO referred me here. As for me, as long as the work is done correctly, I won't judge a book by its cover. The plus: No delays Friendly staff (front office, nurses and doctor) Exit package has a lot of information I didn't have any issues with procedures Employees a lot of people. (Not understaffed) The so-so: The appearance of waiting room might turn off some folks accustomed to modern medical facilities. I recall my last colon test (at a different place) gave my results immediately when I left. Laser color printed results with photos. (Perhaps Glendora will send it later - I will update this review if so) I was somewhat awake during the procedure. I probably should have asked for more pain killer or whatever the give, to get me more drowsy. I'm not a fan of filling out paperwork which includes my social security and data of birth. read more

The windows in this place are weird. Makes you feel like your in a mausoleumum. They're powered white....maybe I'm entering the pearly gates. Other then that..this is a pretty good place located in a small strip mall next to the .99 cent store. You would never know that this place is here. Once inside, there is a small waiting room and they are pretty fast with the paperwork. Be alert...and go to the counter and sign in...and ask for the paperwork. Off you go into a buncha beds in the back... like you see in a mental ward on TV. But I'm not there for that... Endoscopy and colonoscopy. They check your front door and back door. Go ahead and laugh, but bottom line (shouldn't use that word) is your all gonna get your bottoms checked someday...just a matter of time. Nice place...but I didn't like the nurse waking me up when I was sleeping the best sleep I've had in a long time.. I know my zzzzzzzzzzz's kept everyone nicely awake... read more

My mom had a procedure scheduled for 10:30 am and was told to be there at 8:45 am. We arrived as scheduled and checked in. She was called into the procedure area around 9:15 am. I was told it will take around two hours so I told the girl at the front office to call me on my cell phone if anything happens as I'll just step outside. I didn't get a call but it was fortunate that a nursing assistant was helping a patient outside and was able to get my attention to inform me of the development. My mom asked her to tell me that the doctor was running late and to go have breakfast. So I guess you leaving your contact information is of no use in cases like these. The procedure itself lasted only 30 minutes then my mom had to stay in recovery for 20 more. The nurse who took care of my mom explained the discharge instructions well and was patient about it. Mom's only complaint was about the nurse who started her IV line. She said that it was too painful and it felt like it hit the bone that she screamed for it to be removed. Hopefully she won't have another procedure done here in the future. She was happier when it was done in the hospital the last time. read more

I had so much anxiety leading up to my upper endoscopy procedure. And the day-of I was an absolute reck. But this office went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable the entire time. First, I checked in with Courtney. She was so kind and shared personal stories about working with the doctor that put my mind at ease. Then, my pre-op nurses Abryana and Krystal eased my concerns and answered all of my (very lengthy) questions in detail. I had a lot of concerns regarding the procedure going wrong, and they assured me it doesn't ever happen and even if it did they were all trained on what to do. Next, I spoke with my doctor (Adam Snyder). I was really nervous since I hadn't met him before my procedure, but he really took the time to understand my concerns and assure I felt at ease about everything. He also assured me that it was his intent to have me asleep for the whole thing! Love it. Upon entering the procedure room, Lam and Jasmine were amazing at calming my last-minute panic. They had such empathy for what I was going through and were so supportive the entire time. Once they began sedation, I was out like a light. I did wake for a very brief moment mid-procedure (maybe 5 seconds total), but I assume I was given more meds because I was out again. Next thing I know, I woke up in recovery with nurse Melinda. Make sure you have someone who can drive you because you'll be out of it the whole day. I remember waking up, and the next thing I knew I was home. I slept pretty much the whole rest of the day. The only downside to the procedure is the recovery afterwards. It hurt a bit to swallow foods for about 3 days, but it is getting better with time. I did not take any Tylenol, it was manageable. Now I rarely have any pain when swallowing, it's mostly just feels similarly to getting a sunburn - some mild discomfort but nothing horrible. (and I'm very sensitive to pain) Lastly, I did have a migraine the day after the procedure - I think it was a "hangover" from the sedation. It went away the next day and I didn't take anything for it. Overall, I would highly recommend coming here for any procedure. read more

Worst place to go.. said my procedure will cost around 800 then I got 3 bills for more than 2200$. So disappointed. Not recommended to anyone. Courtney us do rude and unprofessional. At first glance the location of the building seemed less than desirable, but inside the building is clean and staff are amazing. Every staff member up front and behind the scenes were kind, patient, and helpful. The waiting rooms before the procedure were very clean and more private than some other facilities I have seen. The doctor came in a spoke with me before the procedure which was comforting. The endoscopy went smoothly, I had no memory of the procedure, but I did meet the wonderful staff of Dr. Snyder, Breanna H. and Matthew L. before falling asleep. I was sent for a routine colonoscopy which should have been covered 100%. They insisted on collecting a deposit from me even though the procedure was covered 100%. They said they would refund my money when they get paid by the insurance. First they billed the insurance incorrectly. I asked them to re-bill the insurance correctly - they did that and got paid by the insurance. It has been 6 months since I had my procedure but they are still not returning my deposit. They are collecting money from the insurance and from the patient. This is a scam. read more
