This is a serious complaint about the service I was offered yesterday. I had pain in my knee and my insurance provider suggested Healthpointe. Healthpointe contacted me and offered to visit Dr Haily Dizay on 11/06/24 at Corona Healthpointe center. The place is not well maintained. I was made to wait for almost 30 minutes before the Doctor came in to see me. She was very rude and hardly listened to my pain issues. She kept telling me that she had no time to listen to the details and asked me to make another appointment. She was there barely for 2-3 minutes and had no time or compassion to listen to my real problem. Please refrain from seeing this Doctor and avoid this clinic!!! read more

I was assigned here through worker's comp and WOW they really go above and beyond taking care of you here! The wait time was not bad at all despite having a lot of waiting patients and I noticed how caring multiple staff members were! The receptionist offered me water after I had to step outside to cough, the medical assistants went above and beyond with making sure I was ok and even provided me a pillow bc I get super light headed during bloodwork. Dr. Russell was my assigned doctor and he was very very thorough with checking out my bite and showed genuine care and concerns; this was not my first bite incident and he was quite surprised when I shared that with my first workers comp care they did not do any bloodwork or extra check ins. I'm so used to these type of health centers taking hours to check you in as a walk-in and feeling rushed in getting services but they really went above and beyond today and I'm so grateful for that. read more

FRONT DESK ASSISTANTS Such an important role when you walk in with much pain and disorientation due to illness/injury. I'm always greeted with a smile and acknowledge as I walk in. I've been here with major disorientation due to brain injury and these ladies have been patient and helpful with me. Ive also been here when experiencing a horrible day with body pain and it's been pleasant knowing they're going to take excellent care of me. The checkout process is quick and easy. This may not seem important when you're not in extreme pain but it can make all the difference in the world couldn't you just wanna get home and climb into bed due to pain. I've been to about 8 to 10 doctors office in the last two years and this has been my best experience thus far. DOCTORS I've seen Doctors Chappell, Margolin, and Verezumskyy, all very caring and knowledgeable physicians. I couldn't ask for a better team thus far. They've been patient with me, they have shared with me what I could do at home to help my situation, and Dr. Chappell has fought for me to get the care I need to get well and back to my normal life before injury!!! I've been treating here for most of 2022 and after having been to many doctors that were dismissive of my symptoms, it is a relief to know I'm now in great hands!!! AMBIANCE It's your typical clinic and is kept very clean. They follow safety protocols for keeping their patients and employees safe from contracting illnesses going around this time of year. RESTROOM The restroom is kept clean and fully stocked. PARKING not many parking spots in the front but the back has ample spaces available. People park along side the flower bed even though there's plenty of parking in the back. I'm guessing they're in too much pain to walk that far--I have been that person many times. If you know, you know. GENERAL STAFF Mostly everyone has been wonderful in the back room as well. I did have one man talk to me in an angry and rude demeanor because I walked to the restroom without my mask on. I forgot to put it on after having been working my brain for over an hour. Haha! Forgetfulness is one of my symptoms! I acknowledge what he said and walked away because I had nothing nice I wanted to respond considering how disrespectful he was behaving. I was in too much pain to report him. If I see him again, I will calmly tell him to never speak to anyone like that again. I've been keeping an eye out for him; I'm sure I'll see him at some point. My doctor said to practice writing so I'm enjoying doing these reviews again, even if they do take me several weeks to write them. read more

This is the worst experience I have ever had at a clinic. I don't give reviews to medical facilities but I had to share my experience with others specially because it's health/injury related. I came here due to a car accident to receive therapy. Instead of being shown exercises or given handout exercises, I was told to go to You Tube and look up exercises for injuries. I requested hand outs and the doctor said to "look it up" on the internet and that people my age were not given handouts. Dr Chappel just wants to get patients in and out as quick as possible. I am not symptomatic, used proper PPE during all care, and I need this pre employment physical done before I can take a travel nursing job. First time visiting Heathpointe but we will definitely be back! The front desk is so nice, especially April Aguilara, who helped us schedule more appointments. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was good to go and we had what we needed. I really like Dr. Li and look forward to seeing him again. We had a minor issue, but after we reported it, the main manager talked to us, apologized, and made sure to make it right. I worked as a Register Nurse in multiple hospitals in the area. I also have my own health care services provided by United Healthcare. I am very impressed with the services rendered to me at this facility. I think Dr. Yuan is amazing. He was capable of making me understand & share with me my health issues in great length and detail. We were able to make a plan and execute the therapy which I was able to understand what would be accomplished during the plan of treatment. Physical therapy is the most advance place & rewarding experience Ive had. The staff is caring and amazing. Dr. Hunter is outstanding! He is capable of expressing your care and indicated how it will be accomplished. I recommend this place because they are beyond perfection. read more

This is strictly about the Physical Therapy department. I had the worst experience here! If you have a bad injury like I do and really rely on PT to help get better, stay away from this place. I have been to other PT facilities before and this one shouldn't even be classified as physical therapy. General appointments anywhere else are an hour long, here they spent maybe 20 minutes with me, 10 of which were on the treadmill or bike. My first appointment they told me to be there an hour before. I arrived an hour before my appt time and they said they didn't know why I was told that as it only applies to patients seeing the doctor. I waited and they called me back 15 minutes after my scheduled time and then handed me paperwork to fill out. I asked why I couldn't have done this the whole hour and 15 minutes I had been sitting in the waiting room, no real response, just "sorry." I waited another 10 minutes or so for the therapist to see me and she put something similar to a TENS machine on my leg and foot. (Which caused me extreme pain later in the day.) Then she had me do a few more stretches and exercises and I felt better about the whole appointment. I was there for about 40 minutes. My next appointment I went in at 11:30am and spent 10 minutes on a treadmill and then the therapist had me do 2 other stretches and said we were done. Twenty minutes, that's all. I felt rushed and like they just wanted to get to lunch. Today I had another appt and the therapist put me on the bike to warm up. As I am on the bike, he asks the receptionist if he can cover for him so he can get coffee. The therapist LEFT! He literally went to McDonald's to get coffee and left me with the receptionist to tell me which stretches to do. I even asked him, "Did he really just leave?" How do you leave a patient?! I was the only one there and he just didn't care at all. After I did the stretches the receptionist told me to do I was already fed up with this place. He informed me that we were done. Another 20 minute appt. The therapist returned and offered me an ice pack which I declined. I asked why my appointments were so short and he said because I refused the electro therapy. Then fill that time doing more exercises! Simple. I spend more time driving to this place then they do helping me. I have a severe injury and am not getting anything out of going here. I had them cancel the rest of my appointments. I called to speak to the office manager who was at lunch and never got a call back. Shows how little they care about patients. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! *Side note: I was injured at work so my Workman's comp insurance sent me here. I didn't have a choice. But I did call my adjuster and let her know that they should never send patients here again. read more

Dr. Patchett is the worst Doctor I have ever seen! I got injured at work and he just doesn't care about my needs. Insurance allows 24 therapy sessions and he only gave me 9!!! I keep asking for more and he keeps saying no and doesn't have a reason why. Other problems arised and now I have to live with them for the rest of my life because this careless Doctor!!! And the best part is, I called my insurance and they said they will approve more therapy but the doctor has to ask for it!!!! He has actually never touched my ankle, he thinks by looking at it and making me walk 2 steps is enough to diagnose me. I only came here because this is where I got sent but never again. I didn't meet my deductible for my insurance when I visited Healthpointe. So I paid out of pocket for a visit 4 months ago and now received a statement saying I owe them a balance. I don't understand why so I contacted them. They told me that I have to pay this much when I visited and then they billed my insurance. My insurance allowed them to collect more so to speak so now I'm billed for the "remaining balance". Why not just bill the insurance from the start and then whatever the insurance allows, you then bill the patient? Kept giving me the run around from talking to their outside billing department to talking to my insurance. It's basically what their staff said vs what I said. They claim they told me that if there's a difference than they will bill me but they did not. If they did, I would of told them to just bill the insurance and I'll worry about it after. Now it ends up being a "he said vs she said". Please do yourself a favor, retrain your staff and have that in writing when you talk to patients and point it out clear to them cause at the end of the day it prevents wasting everybody's time and prevents any confusion. Paying the difference isn't the issue, it's the principle at hand. Example: you buy something for $12. Then time goes by and the store says you owe them $3 cause it's suppose to be $15. How would you react? $3 vs $3000, it's getting it right the first time. read more

I have been going to health Pointe Irwindale for years now. This place is amazing. The staff is nothing but great who treat their client with love and respect. My doctor (Dr.patchett) is so knowledgeable and has helped me with my back pain alot. The office supervisor Erica is an amazing person that goes out of her way to help when needed. The lovely staff Mayra, Daniel, Adrian, flora are all so nice and always have a smile on their face and a great attitude and not to mention always helpful and answer any questions I have. Our school district uses Healthpointe as our go to clinic for all of our employees' needs and I absolutely LOVE them! We have nearly 2000 employees and I direct them to Healthpointe all the time, usually for something simple like a TB test but occasionally for worker's comp issues and the like. Every employee I have sent here comes away impressed with both the actual location (super clean is something I hear ALL the time) as well as the professionalism exhibited by the employees such as Flora, Erica, Mayra, etc. . They are the definition of Professional and we are lucky to be able to count on them for all our needs. I, for one, am also very grateful to Healthpointe because they make my job so much easier. As a personnel clerk I need to keep up on our employees' records and they keep METICULOUS records of EVERYTHING so anytime I (or one of our employees) needs a copy of something, they email or mail us the records on the spot. They are so efficient that they make me look good, too, LOL. On top of all that, their rates are SUPER reasonable (it was one of the reasons that we started referring our employees there) which is ALWAYS a plus. So I was in a car accident a while ago and was assigned here for about a month. Dr. Patchett was kind but took a little to warm up. Dr. Hunter, the chiro, was always friendly, patient, and very good at multitasking. All Staff!!! Including Beatriz and Aris, always welcomed patients and very helpful and kind! Physical therapy did help but I am not 100% back to what I was. And I learned that I don't do well with adjustments, but even then Dr. Hunter would try different techniques to help me out. read more

The staff is nice, but geez is this place disorganized!! I was sent here for physical therapy after a car accident and the quality of the therapy is good and the dr and therapists are kind and caring, but they treat 5-10 ppl at a time so a 1-hour appointment typically lasts 2.5 hours on average. I dont have that kind of time to waste waiting around while my therapist is helping everyone else! They need to hire more therapists. I have had therapy at other locations and its always 1-1 so his whole 5-1 or 10-1 ratio is absolutely ridiculous. read more
