This place is a piece of shIt place and organization. First i took my aunt to the Emergency Room because she has congestive heart failure and her legs get really swollen. While i was with here the doctor started scolding her about her diet like he knew her. Then i hear all these filipino nurses at the desk where talking in their own language and being loud. Next i take her to her colonoscopy at irwindale and again a bunch of filipino nurses talking in their own language complaining about how they have to work harder because the department is short staffed because the manager decided to go to a fire up north and took staff leaving them short... what a piece of shit move who ever this is. i cant believe this person would do that. Im not surprised!!! I would never go to kaiser as a patient, they constantly rush you and their whole model of we care is total bullshit... stay away from this place! read more

I have Kaiser HMO since April of this year and so far I've been happy with their services. The hospital in Baldwin Park is very clean and modern, and although its hard to find the doctor's office inside since the place is so big and there are so many departments, the wait time isn't that long compared to other medical facilities with HMO. I didn't have any problems getting any doctor referrals and they always follow-up with me and remind me to make an appointment. I also like that you have all your medical information in their website and you can pay online which is easy and fast. I know I've heard some bad news about some doctors in Kaiser from family and friends but so far I'm happy with my experience and if I ever encounter any problems, I will make sure to write another review. read more

I have had many positive experiences with pediatrics, OB/GYN, labor and delivery, and general practice. However, I had a horrible ER experience yesterday with my 2 year old daughter. She had been diagnosed with pneumonia the day prior and had a fever spike. When I arrived, they aminimized all of my concerns and made me feel like an idiot for bringing her. There was no compassion, no reassurance, just judgement and "high fevers happen, she'll be ok." I left in tears. read more

I had to come to ER and they took great care of me once a room opened up. The next morning I had surgery and everything went smoothly until I was violently woken up with the anesthesiologists trying to painfully find my vein in the back of my thigh. Highly doubt he found it because I still felt a lot of pain even with orally administered medication. Once I was brought to the recovery room my doctor never came to tell me my outcome, had to wait until the following day for one of his assistants. My nurse was horrible and I had to wait for her almost 30 min. to use the restroom. My nurse and her head nurse really belittled me and didn't seem concerned. They would constantly say that what had occurred to me was extremely painful but then again made me feel like a druggy when I would say I was in pain. My night nurse Daisy was an angel, she made my stay bearable and kept me sane. The physical therapist was also very sweet she showed me how to properly use my crutches and how to go up and down the stairs with them. Kaiser just needs to hire benevolent nurses that don't just care about a paycheck. The shuttle they have also comes in handy and has been a great help!!! Thank you for taking care of me. read more

I dunno -- I called the Pharmacy to inquire about an issue involving dosage on my medication, and quite often the service is good, as in attitude, friendliness, etc. Even if you need to go look something up because you're not sure, it's not a big deal to me. But this one day I had a Pharmacy person by the name of Joselyn and, I guess it comes from having worked in human resources (and being an actor on stage), but I noticed a "tedious" attitude in her voice to where I didn't want to prolong the phone call any longer than I had to. Maybe she was having a bad day, I dunno Either way, left me in a negative mood when I got off the phone. Hope I get someone else next time (as I said, often times the people in the pharmacy are friendlier). A monotone voice and slightly sounding annoyed when I didn't understand something correctly. read more

This facility for hospital care was horrible during my stay. The nurses on the ward I was housed were Curt, unfeeling for a handicap person such as myself. They had no patience or understanding for my situation. They talked aloud about me as a patient (whereas I and others we able to hear). They ignored my nurse call to the point that I actually urinated on myself before making it to the bathroom. When they did show up, I was cleaning the floor so that I wouldn't slip. I am a 13 year recovering stroke person, paralyzed on my left side. The tolerance and patient care they gave me was awful, beyond forgiving. My husband and I have been in the plan since 1972 and I deserved better treatment and care, if not for the monies we pay monthly at least for the oath and promises they gave to care for the patients. We are now resigning to inpatient care at this facility. As an older couple we are almost forced to stay with this plan because of todays economy, so the only alternative is to not deal with this facility as an inpatient. read more

the orthopedics section is terrible... i just called 5 minutes ago to make an appointment for my knee to have the fluid drained cause its in alot of pain & i have to wait over a month for the next available appointment ... what kind of fucked up shit is this that im in pain & i have to wait a month for a procedure that takes 30 seconds...the kaiser administration is absolutely terrible.. i recommend if u can afford better health insurance go elsewhere because to be expected to wait in pain for a month is absolutely ridiculous... kaiser has no sense of care for their patients ... they recommended to go to the ER instead so that they can charge me for using the ER... i hope kaiser can change their policiies on how they treat their patients cause their service is terrible read more

I love Kaiser and the care I receive at this facility. You see with each contact and each care provider that they are striving to do their best for their patients. I just really wish it wasn't so hard to find a parking spot during peak appointment times. You know it's bad when they have a parking attendant in the structure conducting traffic control. Why make everyone as miserable as you look with a blank stare to dismiss people with questions! I've recently switched to Kaiser Permanente and I absolutely love the staff here especially the nurses and doctors. Definitely five stars across the board. I guess they're not too concerned with people's vision or eye problems. I went to urgent care for my eye over a week ago for a blood vessel that burst in my left eye. The doctor checked it and said it was fine but said I had a slight infection and gave me antibiotic eye drops. She told me if I started to get eye pain or blurred vision to go to the er. I did on the next Sunday because my eye got worse and started to blur. My right eye was now red too. There was discharge coming from both eyes now despite there being no discharge a week prior. All I was told by the dr was I would be referred to ophthalmology because there was nothing he could do for me. So basically paid 50 bucks to have nothing done for me. I call ophthalmology on Monday morning and get told that my referral is not processed yet and someone would contact me to make an appointment. No one calls of course. I call this morning and get some lame appointment for the 23rd of August. Then I'm told someone will call me to see if it's urgent enough to get me seen sooner. I kinda need my vision to be there for me at work and I'm missing work. I have a good general physician but I'm starting to regret switching health insurances to Kaiser. I'm almost outta the eye drops which hasn't seen to fix my issue and sitting here debating if I should drive myself to the urgent care even if my vision isn't always clear. This review is for the postpartum section of the hospital. My daughter had her baby there recently and I can say it was ok overall but I think that the nurses there are very under staff. The unit is a close unit meaning a person is to let you in before going into the unit which is I think is great for safety reason. But the problem is no one is around at the desk to let you in . They don't have a secretary or any person at the desk. We waited for a good 30 minutes for a nurse to come to open the door for us. The nurse was rushing to open the door as she came from a pt. room. She was saying sorry for waiting but I don't blame her because that is not her job to sit there and open the door for visitors. I see the nurses running around so busy. They are nice but how can you attend to your patient's needs if you are so busy and very under staff. I think Kaiser should consider hiring more nurses so they can better provide good service to their members. read more

i when to the er on wednesday....to take my daughter cus her left size on her chest had a big ball size of a yellow lime...in 30 minutes they took her in minutes...did a x-ray...doctor come to the room n told me that everything look fine..that it was a bruse under her muscle...so saturday come along n it still was the same...took her to children hospital it come out my daughter chest wall on her left side haves three large csyts n many more in small size....so now it make me wonder to how many ppl they haven told them. the wrong thing? read more

The Emergency Room wait is extremely Long. They seemed to be extremely understaffed. I had to wait 4 1/2 hours for a few stitches. I am going to complain to upper management about the long long wait time, especially since I'm paying for their services. read more

I took my mother in law to her appointment at Kaiser Baldwin Park. The parking lot was filled with "road rage" people and there was no personal to direct traffic. There were no available wheelchairs for handicap patients. We went up to the Internal Med dept and the "front line" receptionists were cold and rude. We were called by the nurse who was not friendly, did not speak Spanish and literally made a face when I told her my mother in law speaks Spanish. The Kaiser Baldwin Park was filled with Rude; unfriendly; unprofessional and bad mannered staff who stand around talking about "person issues" and complain about their supervisors (I heard 2 conversations while waiting of employees complaining about their supervisors). Seems like the people at Kaiser "hate their jobs"!! read more

HORRIBLE customer service - needed to drop off some paperwork for my neighbor - took forever to find parking and walk to the hosptial - running late for work. I stopped by information to see how I could get it delivered to her (it was her disability papers) and the lady didn't listen - just said "disability is over there" I said no, I needed to deliver the disability papers to the patient and she came back with "I can't leave this desk!" I said I wasn't asking you to and explained that I was late for work. She then said - "The gift shop opens in an hour and you can give it to a volunteer then." Did not listen to what was being asked, just assumed, was rude, and not helpful at all. I ended up delivering it, was late for work. Thanks Kaiser! read more

I've been with Kaiser for 2 years now and go to this facility in Baldwin Park. I am so impressed how professional and efficient they are. They provide such great education programs (i.e. Diabetes Ed) and they work hard to keep me healthy (I work on it, too!). It's also important to know that you need to be your own healthcare advocate. Be assertive, ask questions and be proactive. If offered a different insurance, I would. choose to stay with Kaiser. read more

Would give this -5 stars if I could...Went to the Pharmacy on the 2nd floor in the main building. No one there but me. Clerk said it would be about 5 minutes. People started coming in by the droves. All of a sudden noticed everyone else getting their prescriptions and I'm still waiting (??). Went back up, clerk who helped me no where in sight and no one can find my scrip!!! WTH??? Took them forever, finally found it and filled it but took 30 minutes!! You guys need to really get trained or at least act like you might know your job! read more

I went in vomiting, I was helped by a young doctor who told me I had an anxiety disorder and I guess he wanted to stop my vomiting with Ativan, a medication to treat anxiety, when I said no I wanted something for the vomiting he got upset at me, gave me the med for my nausea and treated me horribly after that. I have never been treated at a Kaiser Permanente that way, at least not in Ontario, or Fontana unfortunately I had to move cities and now if I have an emergency i hope o don't run into that Doctor that by the way looked like he was on steroids and he should have been in a body building competition and not at a hospital. read more

I was super nervous and scared, but Dr. Little and her nurses were so nice and so friendly that we all ended up joking around and talking through most of the procedure. I am extremely let down by Kaiser. I have a great pediatrician there and have had wonderful birthing experiences here, however, I recently was shocked and amazed at how hypocritical they can be. I took my daughter in for a speech evaluation. I have some serious concerns with her speech and have addressed it with her public school several times with no help. I have been monitoring it closely for the last couple years hoping to see an improvement and working with her at home. I have finally had enough and decided to take her in to get help at Kaiser. i was told by the speech therapist that my daughter falls into the 17% percentile and unfortunately she needs to be at the very low 11% to receive any help, therapy or corrective assistance. Mind you normal falls from 12-85%, my daughter is at 17%. This is ridiculous, not only ridiculous but not even accurate. My 4th grade 9 year old knew why she was there and was trying her very best when reading and speaking in the clinical setting they observe and interacted with her in! So even at her best she was at 17%. I asked why she had to fall behind to get help and she had no real substantial answer! I explained to her my concerns that two years have passed and I have watched her speech get worse. She told me that "Well the good thing is that if it doesn't improve and she gets older she will fall more behind and then qualify for help." I ended up leaving her office in tears. I want to prevent my daughter from falling more behind and I want to work asap on improving her speech. So much for preventative care from Kaiser! Their whole motto is BS. read more

I was never contacted I had to call many time just to be told they were very backed up and didn't even give them to my doctor till 5/20 it's now 5/23 and still nothing but one vm right at the time they close and the vm had no info just dead air. I have never had to deal with this before I don't think they care that people's jobs are in jeopardy read more

I had my baby on August 21, 2016. I understand they are huge on breast feeding but the second day I was there my baby was screaming his head off. Only to learn I wasn't producing milk. He was starving. All they worry about is latching not feeding your child. Finally the third day we had to call the nurse in and they finally gave me formula to feed my son which they still only wanted me to feed him only 20 ml. My son was starving! His jaundice levels were high do to him not feeding. It's like they purposely starve your baby. So they can make Money and send home a machine that you don't need for his jaundice. All he needed to do is feed so he can pee and poop. And his levels would go down. I went back to the doctor the next day and his levels were down. Im a new mom and I really hope no other mother goes through what I went through. read more

I broke my ankle and went to their ER at 11:00 PM. They had fast and friendly staff that took good care of me in the E.R. I was also seen by a orthopedic MD within an hour. I am a registered nurse at a non-Kaiser hospital and do not mention this at Kaiser because I like to observe how they perform their duties. But I have to say they have some of the best medical staff I have ever seen. Their computer system pumps out educational material at lightning fast speed. I did my follow ups at their orthopedic center on the ground floor and found the same fantastic and friendly service that I experienced in their ER. The prices in their pharmacy for over the counter items are a bargain also. They are a model of efficiency that I am very grateful for. read more

I am a high risk for breast cancer. I meet all of the 5 requirements, including a family history of breast cancer. For nearly 30 years, I go into Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park for an annual mammography. On Feb. 27, 2018, I went in for my annual mammography. A lump was found and Kaiser called me back in for further testing. On March 5th, 2018, I had additional mammography pictures taken as well as an ultrasound. I was handed a letter which stated my lump was "Probably Benign" and to come back in 6 months. In the nearly 30 years of my annual mammography, this is the first time I had a lump. I have questions about "Probably Benign". Does that also mean it is "Probably Cancer"? Just what is the percentage of "Probably"? I was told to ask my GP. I called my GP and asked him how do I know this isn't some fast growing cancer that appearrd 3 weeks ago and by the time my 6 month wait is over, I'm going to lose my breast? My GP couldn't answer that question. I then ask what guarantee do I have regarding this "Probably Benign" diagnosis. The GP answered none. I had further questions, my GP stated they couldn't answer my questions, call the radiologist. I did call the radiologist and the person who answer the phone told me to ask my GP. WOW that got me nowhere. KAISER - you state that you want your customers/patients to THRIVE. How do we do that when we are potentially facing breast cancer and no one will answer our questions? I don't want to sit back quietly for 6 months risking the one chance I have to save my breast. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My mom was rushed to this hospital for a stroke and Dr. Cesar Olmedo was her physician. I'm so disappointed that he pulled me aside to tell me that he and his staff refused to help my mom because she wasn't being nice. So I told him oh ok so you're refusing to help her because she's in excruciating pain? I will never ever go back to this place. The nurse was also very unprofessional. When my mom was finally resting she came in and said "Oh she's FINALLY asleep." She continued to make all this noise and dropped her supplies as if she was doing it on purpose. Have some consideration. They hurt my mom as she was sleeping to put a catheter in when my mom kept telling them she was able to urinate on her own for their sample but the nurses continued to be aggressive and left marks on her legs from being so rough. I just cried as they continued to disregard my moms wellbeing. Please do not come to this hospital. Their level of unprofessional is beyond anything I've ever imagined. read more

Recently my mom was told she needed to be seen in the ER because labs tests showed she was going into renal failure. Although she had great nurses in the ER, it almost 12 hours to admit her, not acceptable, she was in a lot of pain and had to constantly use the restroom, which there was only 2, 1 for patients & 1 for staff. Dr. Woods an ER physician had the nerve to tell me she wasn't allowed to use the staff restroom...I'm sorry, the idiot physician had no idea of her condition and had the nerve to tell me to take her to the patient bathroom which could not even fit the wheelchair she was in the bathroom was filthy on top of having urine all over the floor. Needless to say, I did not listen to this "Dr. Woods" and continued to walk into the Staff restroom. My mom was eventually admitted after 11:30. The medical care she is receiving is great, but again the hospital definitely needs more housekeeping staff. I went to use a restroom on the 2nd floor and it smelled of urine, the trash bin was overflowing and the sink was black from who knows what because it hadn't been scrubbed down. Come on Kaiser, you can provide better facilities than that. Oh and one more thing, the elevator in the parking structure closet to the medical building has been out of service for well over a week. I feel sorry for those patients in wheelchairs. read more

I attended many appointments with my father, while he was "treated" for cancer. The process was frustrating throughout, to say the least. Beginning with the urologist, whom I found to be vague and noncommittal. Insisting an oncology consult was not needed. After a second surgery, finally my father was referred for an oncology consult. Due to the magnitude of the surgical site, I insisted on wound care. My father said the wound care nurse was "fantastic," up until the time of his final appointments. Ultimately, my father died from an infection to this surgical site, which the nurse continually reported looked good and was free of infection. She evaluated my father the day before CCU diagnosed his infection. The following day he passed away. His best care took place on CCU, during his final hours. The doctors and nurses were informative, kind, patient and compassionate. This was NOT my experience with urology, oncology and nursing staff. They acted hastily and without patience. While my father sat in his chemo chair, he received little attention to his needs. He was nauseous, had diarrhea and took multiple trips to the bathroom. No one inquired about his condition. My brother tended to him and was unable to get any support from nursing staff. Several days later, my dad was in ER - dehydrated, delirious, malnourished. He waited in the hallway for hours, for a bed. When he needed to use the restroom, my brother had to shout at staff to help, as no one would respond. If i can pass on what I learned from experience at Kaiser BP, over the course of a year: 1) always be present with your patient/loved one, 2) don't leave them alone and advocate, advocate, advocate. read more

This emergency care is a joke. I had major pressure in my face with migraines and major jaw pain. I spent 4 hours here and a $100 copay for the doctor to tell me to take over the counter meds. She told me I have a cold. Then I was told to come back to urgent care 2 days later because the nurse thought I was misdiagnosed and payed an additional $30 for the doctor tell me that it was also a fucking cold. So after office visits and useless meds I spend over $200. 2 days later I keep having the symptoms so I say forget it and pay $$$$ out if pocket to see a specialist ENT doctor. After getting seen and xrays done I find that I have a severe sinus infection and get a penicillin shot and on strong antibiotics and pain killers. They said it spread all over my face and throat. The doctor said if I would of waited any longer that I could have has very serious complications because if the infection. I really want this review to be a 0. Hopefully this review helps someone that wants to go to the ER. This hospital and doctor is a complete joke. How do they become doctors in the 1st place. I would like to have my money back but you know he kaiser is all about. They just want your $$$$$ and don't care about your health. Even though my company gives me kaiser. The service is good but it's all the about money and if you don't then sorry you are in no luck. When I went to the pumponary station...I didn't know I didn't I have to paid first so they call that register in before you go see anyone. I always paid after at my doctor office. They don't care. I ask my current doctor in the San Dimas for a peek flow which is a preventative measure he refused to give me one and send me to a respiratory for testing to see if I have asthma while I already know I have seasonal asthma that's why I request a peek flow. So I know when to take my med because I am not good at taking med. With my other doctor I didn't have problem getting one. I wasn't officially diagnosed so they couldn't give me one. It's not going to help anyone except myself. So I have to make an appointment with my main doctors and paid $30 so he can tell me I have asthma which I already knew. And that way he can get me a peek flow. That's horrible! I gave it a four star because it's good service because I am paiding for the service, it need one more star because the caring part is not there. read more

Kaiser Baldwin is the WORST EVER!!! When it comes to CUSTOMER SERVICE they really SUCKS!!! I gave birth last October and had normal delivery. Labor and delivery nurses are very accommodating, hospitable, caring...etc! I really had a good experience with them, THANKS to my nurse JOY DAVID! She's very nice compare to other nurses. Anyways, it was almost midnight when they transfer me to my POST Delivery room. I was expecting that nurses should be more accommodating, caring and over all do there job. I myself a nurse too and know what it should be done and not. Anyways, this nurses SUCKS!! They don't even come and check my baby. I always have to call them, not only that after u called them for help it takes 15-20 mins to finally get help, Not unlike Kaiser SUNSET they're very responsible. They always check on you every hour in the room and see how are you doing. I really don't call them coz they actually do there job. Nurses in Baldwin Post Delivery room are the worst nurses ever... They get pay too much but they don't do they're fucking job. Very irresponsible, unorganized and they don't fucking care their patients... Anyways, also Disability Office they don't do their job. I processed my EDD paper works two weeks prior to my last day of work so I can get my check on timely manner. But guess what! They didn't do shit! They processed it so late that I literally have to go to EDD office and expedite my check and good thing I did it. The manager Sheila Balzoni didn't even do anything. She assured me that it will get it done soon. I have been calling them every single day to check on the status but they always have an excuse of everything. This people shouldn't even working in there because they don't do their job. I HATE it because they give you ASSURANCE but they actually don't do anything about it. EDD office even told me that my paper works was pending because kaiser was late and it was incomplete. It's RIDICULOUS!!! My experience at Baldwin is totally a NIGHTMARE!!! I wouldn't recommend u guys to go in this hospital but go to SUNSET KAISER INSTEAD, their the BEST!!! read more

So glad I have Kaiser insurance. I had a breast cancer diagnosis in February of this year. Throughout the whole process I couldn't have been treated better. Today, had an appointment in the oncology department. We showed up early 7:30am for an 8:00am appointment. The receptionist was not at her desk and I didn't expect her to be because we were so early. After a few minutes she came out with a heated blanket to put on one of the older patients who was cold. Her name was Judy and it was a privilege to meet someone who scores of the chart as far as caring and compassion goes. She was so friendly and kind when she checked me in. I was taken in early and saw Dr. Debbie Jean Bracamonte an oncologist with Kaiser. I have never met a more informed, concerned physician in my life! She took the time to explain every report from day 1 and I left knowing that this doctor became a physician because she wants to help heal people. I had blood drawn for numerous tests and by the time I got home many of the results were already on the website. Judy and Dr. Bracamonte are only two examples of why Kaiser is phenomenal. This is to all Dietitian working at Kaiser Baldwin Park location, I would say very poor service would not help a preganent women having a gestational diabetes. They are not helpful at all. This is through our experience, it is our first baby so we don't really know what to do. We tried the meal plan that they advice us but still my wifes sugar is high. We tried to get in touch with them again to ask is there like another or if they can see the meal plan again just to make sure that we are in the correct path. But instead of helping us they just said follow the "MEAL PLAN" see thats the thing we did follow but still didn't work as you can see they didn't even understand what we told them in the first place. Your there to help patient that needs your help if your department are not willing to help those in need so WHY your department still there? I hope someone for the KAISER MANAGEMENT read this take action to it because what if something happens to that person? Who will be sue in the process??????????
