Have a balance in service provider to the service requester There were 4 counters and only two were occupied and one was open to service. A customer service rep on first counter was sitting at his desk while the line was getting deeper and deeper. Only one lady CS person was attending to the customers while al the time I was there close to 30 minutes I did not see any of the other two counter being serviced. When counter one was opened, generally you go when person is served the next in line follows, when I approached I was told rudely that he did not call. The system set up was you approach the counter when you are called allowing the CS person to close the previous account so to provide some confidentiality. Well and good, and given that it was not obvious to me, he could have been benefited by better training. I urge KP to be consistent in the training of all their customer service staff. The Fabiola building isn't all that Fabulous - its old, its not part of the rest of the Kaiser campus - and I keep thinking about how well it would handle an earthquake while I'm inside. I don't like this building. Its cold its old - its the stereotypical hospital look. Especially after walking through the new hospital with their fancy decoration and courtyards and tropical plants and fancy indirect lighting - this place in sharp contrast isn't a pleasant place to be. The membership services is in this building - there was also a pharmacy where they push drugs. Be careful - if you ever read the side effects on what your doctors prescribe you you would never take them. So the building gets the job done. No more no less. Its also across the street to a second parking garage that I found hard to navigate. I was lost, dazed and confused in that place and had a hard time finding the exit. If you can avoid the Fabiola building - do it. read more

I haven't been in this building forever! I came here for a follow-up appointment. I did have to find the space and that took a bit of time. Another issue is that my appointment was in the basement and there is no service. But the people working there were very, very nice. They also have kind of a chill out room with coffee, tea, and coloring pages. They have very Zen-ish music going and I wish I could have been there a bit longer. I did receive my scans and the follow-up sonogram. The people were super nice throughout. I expected to get reamed out because I was a touch late, although, the lateness was because of my getting lost. I walked into the wrong building. But the people were warm and caring and I appreciated them. read more

We do reviews on medical buildings? Really? OK, I've been a Kaiser member for a longtime, and my regular doctor is at the Fabiola Building, 3801 Howe st, in Oakland. I have walked thru those front doors for over 20 years. I have been there for annual checkups, urgent care visits, lectures on weight mgmt, and sadly.....grief counselling. I really have no complaints. You don't always hear what you want to hear. The Fabiola Building is 1/2 a block from the Kaiser-Oakland Medical Center. There's a parking complex across the street, and currently parking is free. The bldg has a pharmacy. During Covid-19, many depts maybe closed. Tip: If you have a doctor's appt, go in early and relax in the waiting room. There will be a better chance they'll see you on time. Why? Because they plan to check your blood pressure. So they want you to relax and calm down before they see you. read more

I come here sometimes for a truly fascinating group therapy session. The last time I came here I was watching the movie, 'I, Tonya' and found myself oddly attracted to the guy who plays Jeff Gillooly and I thought, yup, I should maybe get outta my apartment, go talk to/listen to some actual people. (for the record, the young Jeff Gillooly... not the current day one that looks like old Matt Damon in the movie). Anyway, this building is super clean and not to encourage shady shit but there seem to be zero security here on the weekends and all the doors are p much left unlocked. Again, not encouraging any shady shit but maybe someone affiliated with this building will read and be like, oh hey, we should look into maybe some security for this totally open building. The elevator situation is p confusing. Level 'G' is actually the basement. Ground floor is 1... and so on. But some of the G-level elevator buttons are torn off and some say B (for basement, I would assume), which does make more sense since it's subterranean but the rooms don't coordinate with B- they go by G, so just remember that if you ever get put in a G room. There's a parking garage with convenient crosswalk right across the street. The parking garage fees are nominal during the week and free on weekends. I've yet to have a problem finding parking but I'd give myself an extra 5-8 minutes to find a spot and navigate across the street to find where you need to go in the Fabiola building. Getting wifi in here is usually pretty difficult. I just put my phone in airplane mode to save on battery because I know I won't get any messages in or out while I'm in the building. And I realize this review probably isn't that helpful because it's a hospital and if you come here, you probably need to come here and aren't shopping around for other options based on the elevators and parking but who knows + too late I already wrote it. read more

I have been coming to this location for awhile and in general, the experiences here have been good. Not great but good. I went to the lab a few times before and everyday was a good experience in the past. Today's visit was disappointing started off with this young woman who had large gold earlobe piecing checking me in. She greeted me very unwilling. And after I mentioned to her that my Kaiser card won't swipe due to damages of the stripe on the card, she demanded in a very mean tone that I read the numbers to her. I found her to be unprofessional and maybe even racially discriminating towards me. Then, I had Harris who drew my blood and gave absolutely no directions what so ever through out the process. read more

If I could give it a zero star I would! Been coming here since birth and nothing but awful experiences. The people who work in dr turner's office in this Fabiola building are horrible. Every time I encounter them they give me hell. Lady named Beatriz hung the phone up in my face while I was explaining to her why I was so upset! Doctor gets back to you in a month, they never follow up and they never take any ailments seriously. They wait until you get so bad that you need life threatening surgery. I've had family members die here due to their negligence. I even asked the front office if it's ok for your staff to hang the phone up in a clients face and they thought it was funny. I have so many things going wrong with me and doctor never takes me seriously. I had to suffer from tonsillitis all through high school and adult hood until the doctor finally let me have surgery to remove my tonsils. They were so bad you couldn't even see down my throat. It should not have taken years and me in the er multiple times. They are a complete joke and I can't wait to change hospitals completely! I will be putting in a formal complaint as well, even though I know nothing will be done about it. read more

Kaiser Fabiola is one of many medical buildings including 3701 Broadway. There are four floors (3rd floor has the Asian speaking clinic (3B) and fourth floor has the Spanish speaking clinic (4A). Very diverse. There are different back ground MD's at this facility not just Asian MD's. Pharmacy/Allergy department is on the first floor. (Gets busy at times) but what do you expect?? It's a pharmacy. Kaiser Fabiola is wonderful. If your doctor is running behind -- grab a cup of coffee at the Panama Bay Coffee shop downstairs. read more

This place is not clean. There is dust and hair on the floor. I'm grossed out! Also, Kaiser lacks diversity in their staffing, especially of physicians. Most all of the doctors are Asian. Shouldn't your office diversity reflect the communities they serve? The Oakland community is not just Asian. Where are the doctors that look like me? Where's Doc Msstuffins!?!? Have been with Kaiser for almost 10 years and generally pleased with it but just have been struggling for the last month and I am really seriously concerned about their lack of ethics and responsibility I'm upset because Kaiser injected me with the topical analgesic for some back pain I was having and it created a way worse injury at the site of the injection that has persisted for weeks and they have absolutely nothing useful conciliatory sensible fair apologetic or medically sound to say about it . pissed! read more

In 2013 I had blood pressure work done. Then I went to the EKG department for my EKG test. The nurse was very nice. She put the electrodes on my chest and I relaxed for a few minutes. I was finished. My doctor wanted to see if there was any damage from the high blood pressure. read more

I had a horrible experience with this Kaiser. 3801 room # 322. My yelp review is on nurse. She had meanest voice ever. She is the most weird person I have ever met. I couldn't commute with her. She is not caring, informative or compassionate and unprofessional who has forgotten what being a nurse is about. It's ridiculous how long you have to wait a for check up. I don't like the way the receptionist talked is not nice. I felt wanted to leave. I think that she need to learn the best way how to talk to a patients to make them feel better. The way she talked made me feel wanted to leave. I wanted to give them a chance so I waited until they called me in. When I got inside the room, the nurse is even worse. She couldn't answer my questions when I asked her something. She just talked back to me or against me. At the end, I couldn't wait and I felt very uncomfortable so I ran away without seeing a doctor. I hope they didn't bill me anything. I recommend not come here at all if you not really sick. Just take some Chinese Herbs. You will be fine and do good deed. read more

The staff at the laboratory was not knowledgeable or caring. They did not provide the right instructions for the urine test that requires the person to clean the glans before peeing. Just had to get a lab done since some previous lab work wasn't showing up for an injection. After an hour wait at the lab my number is finally called in to have my blood drawn. The person that was supposed to draw my blood is instead drawing another persons blood. He reassures me that it'll only take 5 minutes and will call me up immediately afterwords so I shrug and let him draw that persons seat and go back to the waiting area. I wait for about 20 more minutes where this guy proceeds to call 2 other people's numbers to have their blood drawn. I go up to ask about if he was going to draw my blood or not and he says no since he didn't like my attitude. Well I didn't like how you completely forgot me. I am new to Kaiser, just started in January, 2017, so it's been almost 2 months. I'm totally impressed. Every time I've gone, the reception staff is courteous, responsive, professional, efficient and kind. I've seen my primary care physician and an optometrist and optician (for new glasses). Great people, thorough work. My medical records had already been transferred from my old non-Kaiser medical group, with whom Kaiser has a relationship. The lab is efficient, and I was in and out in fewer than fifteen minutes after getting blood drawn. They have a great system to check you in and to send you to a blood draw station. When I thought I had strep throat, I walked in to my PCP office with no appointment; a nurse fit me in, swabbed my throat and the next day I got the negative result via my online account. Had an appointment one day for some chronic congestion, and walked out with not only an appointment with the head/neck/throat specialists but also an appointment for a mammogram (they noticed it was time) and both a shingles and a pneumonia vaccination. Wow! So easy to get your preventative services done, and so easy to get help to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Evidently Kaiser is really working on creating a great outcome for their patients. I am SO impressed, and did I mention that the staff is amazing? Helpful, kind, professional, efficient, upbeat. And I don't understand the comment on lack of diversity.
