I went to Townpark ACC this morning. I was taken back quickly, but then it took an hour to see a doctor! Once she came in she asked me lots of questions about my pain. She made feel like I was crazy. Had this look on her face the whole time like she didn't believe me. At one point I started crying because I felt like she wasn't taking me seriously. She never acknowledged I was upset. Once I was there I wanted to leave immediately, but couldn't because I was in so much pain. Zero bedside manner for the doctor and her nurse. Will never go to that ACC again! Very disappointing that that's the level of care you get. read more

Avoid Kaiser Permanente all together. This location is one of the worst. Went to the U.C. due to severe pain, and was told that they could not give pain killers? WHAT???? That was on a Saturday. On Monday I went back to see another doctor, and she gave me enough pain killers to kill a horse. Problem was, she had not even examined me. I was in pain, crying.... she up and leaves the room while I'm telling her whats wrong, saying "I can't talk to someone that is crying". Hummmm .... She shouldn't have become a Dr. if she can't handle people in pain. The entire place is the typical "Too many patients, not enough staff" medical facility. Every corner of this place screams "I only want your money people, but not actually do anything for it." From the sign in to the pharmacy, wait, wait, wait, wait.... and wait some more. Oh, and by the way... nobody actually gets paid enough to actually care about an individual. When you go here, you are herded around like cattle. Nothing happens until you dish out the cash. And when you do see a doctor, make sure you speak quickly, because they are on a time schedule that does not actually allow for patients. Doctors and nurses are over burdened by relentless, and endless, paperwork and computer entries. One thing is for sure, they will cover their butts not to get sued, and all of this at the cost of patient care. I joined Kaiser Permanente in Jan. And I switched to another provider after one month. And the end of this horror story; They are still trying to extort $25 from me, and I have now received three different reasons why I owe it. I am hounded by automated phone calls. This again shows that there are not enough humans to care for patients. They don't even have the decency to have a human call. And get this.... when I did call them back, I got a recording telling me that they had high call volume, please leave a message..... and what did I get when I tried to leave a message.... a recording telling me the mailbox was full. Bottom line... avoid this place, and this company, at all costs, if you are a human being. read more

Kaiser in Georgia has maybe 20% of the doctors they actually need; for mental health, it's just a joke. It took seven months to go through a phone screening and get a single appointment with a therapist who promptly told me they have zero availability. I tried to make an appointment with a psychiatrist; the closest availability was three months out. I have no doubt that Georgians are committing suicide on a regular basis because Kaiser is their insurance and is completely negligent. Access to care is nonexistent, and there's no internal system addressing the problem. I took time to pick out a PCP I thought would be a good fit, but it would take six months to see her for an initial appointment so I've been going to random doctors whenever I get sick. Their system seems fancy, but the whole thing is a joke. Run, don't walk, to another insurer. read more

I've been with Kaiser for 24 years and they've been nothing but incredible. I do hate going to the pharmacy, though. There's never enough people to help and you have to wait in line forever only to have the person disappear from the register for a while, for no apparent reason. The only other complaint i have is that there's absolutely no cell reception anywhere in the building. I'm always blocked and forced to use their unsecure wireless. Pharmacy unorganized, and no good communication between Drs/Nurse's/and pharmacy. This is by far the worse medical insurance I've ever had.

I have nothing good to say about Kaiser. I personally am not - and never would be - a Kaiser patient. But I watched them mess up my mothers medications for years, where they had her on medications that were contra indicated and in some cases on both a name brand and generic of the same medication. Most recently my father had an infection in his spine that was misdiagnosed through multiple MRIs over a 3 month period. The infection was finally diagnosed by docs at Emory on the 3rd MRI in as many months, and we were told that there was evidence of the infection on the 1st MRI. Shortly after the diagnosis, he had a stroke and we lost him. We were told by one of the docs at Emory that it was likely the infection that caused the stroke. If it had been diagnosed at the time of the first MRI and treated we would not have lost my father. Beware. read more

I am very impressed with my primary care physician at Kaiser TownPark, Dr. Madeleine Fortin. She is very thorough, genuinely sincere, and takes the time to talk to me, making sure to answer all my questions and address every concern. She researches my medical problems and always submits any required referrals immediately. She is very nice, polite and gives me her complete attention. I have a long and serious medical history that includes an acoustic neuroma, facial paralysis, single-sided deafness, vestibular difficulties and over the last 5 years, I have had 9 surgeries. Dr. Fortin has the desire that all doctors need to treat their patients with the best care possible, all while making sure to go above and beyond for me. She has been my doctor for several years now and I hope my insurance does not change, just so that I can stay with her. Additionally, her staff, specifically her main nurse, is also wonderful. read more

Currently sitting here writing this review, that's how motivated I am. I don't mean to be "that guy" but this is my first visit here at this location and will without a doubt be my last. Only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the nurses and doctor upon initial check in were very nice. Other than that, this experience is a nightmare. There wasn't but more than 6-7 people in the check in room, so not necessarily busy. I had to wait 45 minutes in a room before seen by a doctor. The total wait time was over an hour. At this point my flu symptoms, body aches and chills/fever was progressing and I was very uncomfortable. If I haven't paid my co pay already, I would have gotten up and walked out to be back home in bed where I'm at least comfortable. After being seen by the doc for 10 mins, the next nightmare was the in house Pharmacy in which the check in nurse assured us that it is a quick and easy check in/check out process. Boy that was wrong. The line was out the door and backed up at least 18-20 people. I'm not sure if the problem is not enough scheduled staff or what but that's not my problem, that's what shift managers are trained to deal with to avoid sick people waiting in a pharmacy check in line that is 35+ minutes. With the Pharmacy line obviously being so long and sick people increasingly growing frustrated, you'd think someone would take initiative and call for at least 1 more person to help the check out ones. I first arrived here at 9:50 am. It is now creeping up on almost 12 pm. I would rather taken my chances getting over the flu myself rather than ending up feeling worse than when I first walked in. Long story short, unless you're up for being more uncomfortable and feeling worse than when you walked in, avoid this particular location until whoever is responsible for scheduling the staff gets their issues worked out. This is also a Saturday, so common sense would be to gear up for more people visiting during the weekend when most everyone is off of work, rather than during the week. Update I finally was checked in to have my medicine made. Now onto waiting another 30-40 mins to have it filled from one of the bins behind the people in checkout lanes. So basically almost an hour and a half when we were told it'd be no more than 10 mins. Ridiculous. read more

Everyone was so kind and the doctor I got was very knowledgeable and really knew what she was doing. There was a ton of people in the pharmacy area, and I still didn't wait for over five minutes. I hurt my shoulder this weekend and called today to be seen, and there was a whole day of availability. It's wild reading some of these reviews. I just don't see how terrible KP is to some people, but everyone has different experiences. Mine, have been great. read more

In general we like Kaiser but the care at this facility is terrible. I took my husband there for a suspected bowel obstruction, a very serious condition. After some xrays the doctor told me he was doing better and they were going to release him. I pointed out that he was still in severe pain and vomiting. They released him anyway. He continued to deteriorate so I took him to Northside Hospital. They admitted him immediately and did surgery asap. We will never go back to this facility again. read more

The idea of free valet parking service is a good one. But the execution is just stupid. They reserve the parking spaces closet to the door for "valet storage". Anyone else parking has to park in the furthest areas and walk. Why not "store" the valet cars in the parking lot below and have valet attendants walk a little further to get the cars. The hospital I came from did just that. Even had a golf cart available to drop off customers. I asked who was in charge of the facility, and check in people had no idea. read more

Avoid Kaiser if at all possible. My 92 year old father has Kaiser and is at the end of his life. All we want is to make him comfortable and calm. He suffers from severe dementia and prostate issues. We try to get medication for him but they refuse to help him without sending him to the ER. The ER won't help him because he has a living will and Kaiser does not allow them to prescribe dementia meds. He is confused, violent, and begging to die but they pass him around like a hot potato. In order to get a peaceful death, we are having to pay out of pocket for non-Kaiser doctors to make his last few weeks something less than hell on earth. Please do not put yourself thru this. Avoid Kaiser at all costs. read more

We love Kaiser, have been members since 2006. We attend their free better health classes, which are offered throughout the year. It's great to have a pharmacy open until 11 daily and a lab that sends out results, via email, before you even arrive back home. Also their 24/7 urgent care unit is better than any emergency room we have been to, never have waited to be seen by a doctor. And might I add they have the best preventive care system around, Speaking from experience having belonged to several other health providers throughout the years. read more

Decent medical care so far, prices are reasonable and I wasn't charged for simple lab work. Wait times for physicians aren't bad. Wait times for the pharmacy are INSANE, though! Wait ten minutes to 'check-in.' Then wait 45 minute till they fill the prescription. Then wait in line to 'check-out.' If my physician already entered the meds in their electronic system, why should I need to 'check-in'?? Lest you think this is uncommon, one of the staff told me (under her breath) that they're always slammed between 9am and 8pm. read more

To an extent I can see some of the ratings for this place as they relate to the pharmacy; they need to hire some more people to help with check-ins, processing, and dispensing. I had to wait in line for over twenty minutes just to have someone come help me looking for something in their store that they did not have. That being said, I thought it was cool that they had a store within the facility. A little hard to enter, but when you come up to it you can figure out where to park and go. When you go in your are supposed to check in with one of the receptionist, though that was really cool, and even if there is a line there are automatic check-in stations incase the line is long. When I checked in I just gave them my healthcare card, paid, was instructed where to go and wait for them to call my name. Compared to my experience at another location I did not have to wait long for them to call my name, nor did I have to wait long for the Dr. to come to my room after I went through everything with the nurse. Great experience all around, and it was so effortless that I even changed my primary care physician to this location. read more

No care is given. A waste of time if your sick or injured. They just take vitals, write a prescription and send you home telling you to see your primary care physician. If you can afford to not have Kaiser you should. You'd be better if with no insurance than with Kaiser it's a waste of time and money. read more

These guys are unable to even fill prescriptions after the doctor approves them in their "advanced computer system". Pharmacist was unable to fill my Fiancé's prescription medication, despite it being in the system and visible to her as approved because she did not have a hard copy from the doctor. If this was the first time, I could understand it, but this is the 3rd time in as many month. read more

The amazing systems, facilities, and communication at Kaiser are only exceeded by the stellar doctors, nurses, support staff and administrative staff. They make the difficulties of health care simple. Every single person in the chain was friendly, an excellent communicator and very competent except the one optometry tech who dryly told me that she had heard my joke about being able to read the huge Z that started the eye chart a million times before and that I was on her bad list :-). I don't understand some low reviews. This facility is outstanding. My wife has come here nearly a dozen times in two years. Wait time from check in to being in a bed is less than 7 minutes. I time it each time. Extremely efficient. Mission is to heal/stabilize in 24 hours. If needed longer they transport you to hospital ER (eg Northside) Lab tests done quickly and I receive results on iPhone as soon as test is done, sometimes a minute or two before the docs get them. I only wish they were more centrally located. read more

This is a review of their medicare insurance plan. They are well organized. For example, when you walk in, you simply use your credit car to log in and to make your co-pay. Their insurance (for medicare is reasonable), and you get free access to many local gyms through Silver Sneakers. Generally you must use a Kaiser doctor but the advantage is that all of their records are centralized, including medications for the pharmacy. So you only have to give your history one time and all treatment info is shared among all of the doctors. I understand the pharmacy is very understaffed, so be prepared for long lines. read more

Theodis Buggs - I have seen this doctor three times regarding the limited mobility and swelling behind my knee. We have done X-rays and a MRI. He has yet to give me a clear diagnosis and has left me confused. Offers no solutions or plan of action. When I asked more questions about the plan of action, his answer was to prescribe pain meds. Pain meds should only be prescribed if there is a clear diagnosis and pain meds are required to treat it. I refused the meds and I am seeking a second opinion, or a first opinion since he offered no expertise in the three visits we had together. He currently works for Kaiser, it takes 30 days or more between appointments to see this doctor. Upon filing a complaint with the Town Park Operations Manager, the feedback I received is that this orthopedic department is very under developed and under staffed. Ridiculous! read more

This was by far the worse experience I've ever had at the Town Park Urgent Care. I was seen by a Dr. Shakira Thomas today for a worsened flu case. If this doctor could have told me to "get over it and go home" I am pretty sure she would have. She is NOT a good representatation of what Kaiser usually stands for. Her bedside manner was horrible. I'm not saying crawl up in the hospital bed with me and console me, but it's super easy to be kind, which she has had zero training in apparently. My reason behind this review is to pre-warn anyone that may be seen by her. I would highly recommend immediately asking for another doctor. I have had several 5 star experiences in this urgent care, but this doctor is definitely not one of them. I spoke with the shift supervisor and she was wonderful. She and my fabulous nurse are the only reason for the 2 stars...they showed the expected Kaiser hospitality. read more

I arrived at this Kaiser facility at 9:20 pm with a very bad case of sore throat. The nurse took a swab of my throat and said it should take no more than 15 minutes for their in-house lab to come back with a result. I ended up waiting more than 1.5 hours before a nurse's aide called me to the exam room. When my wife said something to her about the long wait, she said that my exam room had actually been ready for some time and that "they probably just forgot to call you in." I wonder who "they" are, since she seemed to be the only person tasked with this duty at that time. The P.A. who saw me said that my test result was negative for strep. After going over some simple remedies with me, he told me to wait in the room for the nurse to give me my discharge document. He was apparently aware of my previous (and unnecessarily long) wait, because he assured me that the nurse would be there in no more than 5 minutes. I waited more than 20 minutes before I poked my head outside the exam room. The P.A. was filling out some paperwork at a nearby station. When I told him I was still waiting to be discharged, he went to get the nurse himself. It was just a few minutes before midnight when my wife and I finally walked out the door of the urgent-care facility. Bottom line: I spent $90 and at least 3.5 hours (including commute time) to see Kaiser make a mockery of the term "urgent care." (Their motto should be "It may be URGENT to you, but it's certainly NOT urgent to us!") read more

Horrible! Absolutely horrible. Went for an ultrasound (took a pregnancy test 5 weeks from date of appointment) obgyn lady has no idea why I'm there, thinks I'm there for a pap! Then proceeds to tell me my baby has no heartbeat and I will soon miscarry! Has called me three or so times since to ask when I will be scheduling my d&c. Fairly sure she's totally misdiagnosed since most heartbeats aren't seen or heard until 6-7 weeks! Never will I go back! All the staff is completely cold and acts unprofessional.. not to mention completely CLUELESS! read more

I like Kaiser very much, especially the Townpark facility. Joined Kaiser 5 yrs. ago. So far I've had about 20 doctor appointments including a colonoscopy and 2 visits to the emergency dpt. All went very well; hardly any wait and docs and staff are very friendly, and they always took good care of me. Exception is one opthamologist who kept me waiting for a couple of hours without explanation so I finally walked out. I can't recommend her. Also expect long wait times at the pharmacy. read more
