Used to love this store back in the day, but their prices markups are RIDICULOUS. Not only that, when you walk in you don't feel welcome at all, you feel like there are a bunch of workers looking down on you. They no longer update their gauge options because they believe the cheaper material is bad for you AKA they want to make more money let's be real. I was told by someone who used to work here that she was fired because they were training her to be a piercer and she became pregnant & refused to have an abortion. I got an ear piercing here years ago, and when the earring came out I was able to walk in and get a new one for 8 bucks. They knew exactly what size to use and were super friendly. Went back today and got my 2 older ear piercings re opening with new earrings and they guy put them in which was awesome! Everyone so far for me has been extremely helpful and very nice. read more

I'm really surprised by the negative reviews! I have had nothing but a positive experience with everyone at Kaleidoscope! I have had Ryan do the only tattoos I have, he did an excellent job! He did exactly what I was asking. I have a dandelion on my back, and he recommended making it look more realistic, and he actually free handed it on me! It turned out amazing! The price was great, the quality was great, and the shop is always extremely clean! Ryan is super easy to talk to, and very nice! I have been going to Kaliedoscope (all departments) since 2013, and never had a bad experience! I will most definitely be back! read more

So I recently got a new tattoo. The artist told me I have three months to get touch ups so I set an appointment. Today the day before my appointment I get a call telling me the artist is no longer there and basically sorry for you but unless he goes somewhere else I have to deal with the flaws I wanted fixed. Every interaction I have had with Kaleidoscope has been negative. In my experience, this shop exchanges quality customer service for more sales. I have been pierced and serviced at piercing parlors where the artists have given the best advice to their client instead of making the extra buck, but unfortunately this is not the case with Kaleidoscope. On every occasion Kaleidoscope has sold me a product or service that is sub-par and disappointing, especially since these products and services are expensive. I would never recommend this parlor to a friend. My experiences with this shop are below. Recently the shop sold me an $85 piece of jewelry in the wrong gauge, and refused to refund or exchange it. I had my tongue pierced here as well, and the piercing is crooked. The day I received the piercing, they sold me a decorative natural stone ball which severely and unnecessarily pained my new piercing to the point of removing it due to the prongs that held the stone in place. Instead of removing it, on the third day I took it out and turned the bar upside down so the smooth steel ball rested on top and the pain significantly reduced. I was disappointed by this since most other professional piercers would have forewarned me, but the decorative ball was about $15 more than the plain bar. I went in on a separate occasion to purchase a clear acrylic tongue retainer for work, and told the sales associate it needed to be clear. He proceeded to try to sell me colored bars when they didn't have what I was looking for. read more

It was very clean, like Kaleidoscope is known for, but it also had some odd rules. My husband and i where getting matching tattoos. My husband had to stay behind a rope like a little kid while i got mine done and vice versa. They both healed really weird. I have multiple tattoos and i know how they are supposed to heal and i don't know if the ink they used was off or what but my tattoo is raised and so is my husbands. Parts of my tattoo are disproportionate. I was done to carelessly that it makes me want to cover it with something else. It was very very very expensive compared to other studios i have been to. I highly recommend the piercing here but maybe not so much the tattooing but if you find an artist that you groove with than you will find the best results. Best of luck. read more

I went in yesterday to make an appointment. I wanted to get my children's names. They had a really nice shop, very clean, and a wonderful receptionist. She took the time to look at what I wanted and made suggestions, and gave me a price quote. I was asked to put down a $50 deposit, and come back at the specified time. When I went back in for my appointment, the artist picked my design apart, telling me that I couldn't do the color without it fading, the names wouldn't fit inside my design, I couldn't have it where I wanted it, and he wanted to throw the whole thing out the window, and make up his own design. He pretty much talked to me like I had never had a tattoo done before, and the whole idea of putting my children's names on my body was ridiculous. His total attitude was like I was an inconvenience and a waste of his time. I can take a lot of crap, and I don't get upset so easily. But when I told him that I wanted their birthdays incorporated in as well, he looked at me and asked "You know when they were born, do you really need that on your body??". I was almost in tears, he made me feel really stupid. I told my husband that I didn't even want to be there anymore, that I didn't even want the tattoo now. He went back in to get the deposit back, and she wasn't even going to give it at first, because it's not "policy". Well, I'm pretty sure it's not policy to treat the people who are paying 2 to 3 hundred dollars like crap, either. Don't get me wrong, the receptionist was a dear. The artist was incredibly rude. I have NEVER been treated like that by a tattoo artist, EVER. If he would have tactfully bounced ideas off, I would have been more willing to change what I wanted done. I guess I'm not the first to be treated that way. I don't suggest this place to anyone, unless you're wanting something simple or something that has been done a million times before. Unbelievable. I've told all my friends not to give these people their business as well. read more

I recently had my nose pierced, but the metal was too loose and it kept hanging out of the bottom of my nose. I went to Kaleidoscope hoping they would just rotate it back in. The woman fixing it was not friendly at all and seemed to be just working as fast as she could so she could go home. All she did was take a pair of closing pliers and push down really, really hard on my piercing and my nose. She told me I would not be able to move my nose piercing around or take it out and if I ever wanted to I would have to come back and see her. The metal was unusually twisted and the stud was bent and sinking down into my nose. It was very painful, so two days later I went to a different shop where they actually had to cut the nose ring out of my nose because it was stuck. Kaleidoscope was very clean and the staff was friendly (for the most part), but unfortunately I will never be going back due to one bad incident. read more
