I attended MBRC in 2014 and after years and years of trying to get sober rehab after rehab I landed…read morehere all the way from New Jersey in what i thought was some hippie place that I was completely against. Having said that I said let's give this a shot as it was very different from the cold concrete walls of even your nicest rehabs. At this point nothing else had worked so what did I have to loose? Through my time at MBRC I learned a lot and that life had so much more to it and maybe it was the what I thought was a crazy diet or the constant yoga which I tended to make excuses about doing or just the fresh ocean air. This was the first time I was in an intimate rehab setting there was maybe 6 or 8 of us which was quite refreshing because you were truly in this together. From Joan, to chef Johnny, heather, Tony and many more who I am forgetting almost 12 years later I was sent out into this new world with a new outlook. This new world though was something different than I had ever done, i agreed to stay in California temporarily and live in MBRC sober living in Brentwood and attend outpatient for as long as I could. I had always been against sober livings because in my experience it was like living in a crackhouse but not here. From the simplest thing of house manager Janine who worked multiple jobs aside from that trust me to take care of her dog Mia. I was able to heal and learn how to live and be a responsible adult, idk but I truly believe that connection me and that little dog made in the next year taught me to be gentle and kind and loving. From the outpatient services provided by stacy and DR i don't remember his name but he was awesome to the lifelong friends I made living in that house for almost a year. I was able to slowly acclimate back into the real world. Here we are in 2026 almost 12 years later to the date and I'm still sober and still in Los Angeles. If anybody told me 12 years ago that would be my life I would tell you that's your NUTS! I was watching an IG story from Chef Johnny today who has become one of the most sought after celebrity chefs in La and it made me think of MBRC. I thought I knew it closed but I started googling and saw this yelp page with limited reviews some good some bad but more importantly it said closed. Since that is the case maybe this review is more for me and to share my gratitude for the day. As the years goes on and life becomes life sometimes I forget to do that so maybe this is the grounding moment I needed today. Thank you Joan and Oleg for opening your HOME to us and giving us a chance. Many along this road are no longer with us but you are never forgotten and weather we still talk or your no longer in this world thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Do NOT go to this clinic if you have more complex trauma or a complex dissociative system. I was…read morereferred due to their specialization in complex trauma and understanding of dissociative disorders. Myself and my therapist spent weeks asking questions, attending meetings, and making phone calls to make sure that Reconnect had the ability to help me. And at first it looked promising. Unfortunately, they lied quite blatantly. I got triggered during my first week, and while it was bad and caused major insomnia, within a few days of not sleeping over the weekend they discharged me and basically gave me a huge middle finger. After ONE trigger event. I did everything they asked, prepared materials, and did everything I could. But instead of helping me, at the FIRST sign of trouble, they ran with the insurance money, leaving me with hospital bills. This is NOT a safe place with people with more complex trauma issues. They are 100% not capable or qualified to help people like me. And again... they LIED. We went through multiple scenarios I have already experienced in therapy, and I was ensured that they were understanding and capable of helping with these issues. Moreover, because of insurance, the rapid discharge made me lose all access to my therapists previous to the program. I STILL haven't been able to find a replacement therapist due to waitlists etc. And I am continuously being charged for back charges associated with the week I spent at Reconnect. The only thing they did right was return my $1K down payment for missed appointments. I regret ever attempting to see these people. Don't waste your money if you're a polyfragmented system or have extremely complex trauma. Don't bother with these people. At best, they might help a little. At worst, they'll fuck you over and leave you bleeding in the street.

The intake process was seamless, and the Reconnect team helped manage my schedule, insurance info, payments, etc. during a time when it was really difficult to manage everything on my own. Reconnect uses a variety of modalities, like EMDR, brainspotting, art therapy, neurofeedback, accupuncture...you name it. I had a great experience with everyone on the team, and overall I just can't recommend them enough. Thank you for everything Reconnect!!

I initially began my ketamine infusion therapy back in December of 2019, up in the San Francisco…read moreBay Area where I am from. By the time I found Gateway on Montana, I had already had 10 treatments, so I was extensively familiar with the myriad benefits. After a series of situations requiring a temporary relocation to Santa Monica recently brought me to the neighborhood, I happened to stumble upon this beautiful facility one sunny day in July, and was warmly greeted by Zohreh. After a lovely chat, I immediately scheduled their next available appointment, and was able to get an infusion within two days (on a Saturday), at about half the price I was paying in the Bay Area, which was such a relief to discover. I am so grateful to have found this place, and have now had five sessions at Gateway Clinics. As someone who is very sensitive to all pharmaceuticals, and neither tolerates nor desires any traditional medications, I am thankful to have discovered ketamine on the advice of a functional (aka holistic) psychiatrist a few years back. I have since learned that Ketamine is a tremendously safe, versatile, and wonderful drug that has been used since the early 1960s, and may be administered at different dosages, in any one of three ways: as an anesthetic (for sedation, like during surgery), as an analgesic (to achieve relief of chronic pain), and as a psychedelic (requiring much lower doses, for mental health support). In my case, ketamine has been instrumental in helping me with all of the following areas of concern: depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, trauma, addiction, suicidal ideation, fatigue, sleep, cognitive performance, mental clarity, and even everyday functionality on a seemingly ordinary human level that so many of us take for granted (until compromise thereof occurs). Within one treatment, ketamine also gently washed away a lifelong fear of needles and IVs, and this annoying obstacle has never returned. I like to say that ketamine (as with most psychedelics) often quite dramatically improves one's capacities: to care for self and others; to move through the world of experience with greater ease, mindfulness, and attention to the present moment; to love more of what is; to gravitate away from the tendency to overcomplicate things, and rather toward a preference for simplicity; and in general to suffer less. It was by way of studying philosophy for 10 years that I discovered meditation and psychedelics. I would never have imagined that a deep immersion in academia would lead me here. Absolutely everyone on the Gateway Clinics team is of the highest caliber. Locally, Zohreh is phenomenal, and creates an inviting atmosphere that makes you want to come in and stay awhile. All of the Nurse Practitioners are phenomenal, and treat their patients with the utmost care, kindness, compassion, respect, and even joy. The founder, Clay, and his wife, Ariane, are both spectacular human beings. I am genuinely impressed with every detail of this practice. The entire organization feels very much like a family, and without doubt they are mission-driven to heal the world, one bodymind at a time. In addition to safe, convenient, and legal psychedelic therapy, Gateway also offers several vitamin infusions, B-12 shots, and a perfect array of products to go, such as: targeted wellness and supplement sprays; high potency medicinal mushroom tinctures (e.g. Lion's Mane and Shitake); raw superfood chocolates featuring adaptogenic mushrooms and herbs; and a nice selection of quality CBD products, including tinctures, gummies, and flower. Life is already struggle enough in so many ways. On my view, every being alive deserves the chance at a happier, healthier, more peaceful experience of existence if at all possible. Wholeness is a birthright; and psychedelic therapies are unquantifiably vital to the end of helping to facilitate precisely that. I highly recommend this "Gateway" to infinite possibility. We are so fortunate to have it here.
