I called Kal to see if he could help repair my Echo gas weed trimmer. He doesn't work on them anymore because it's usually the same issue. He told me over the phone exactly what to do. Get all the gas out, pump the gas through the carburetor. Then let it sit overnight, replace the spark plug and clean the air filter. I really appreciate the time he took to help me out and without charging me a dime. I went to Home Depot and they had an Echo maintenance kit with the spark plug, new filter and a new fuel filter for $20. I installed it all in 5 minutes and followed Kal's instructions. I called Kal about our lawn mower that had stopped working. I described the symptoms and asked if there's a chance he could come and pick it up and take it to his shop and get it fixed. While we were deciding on the schedule, Kal told me that from what I described, it seemed as if the solenoid was bad. The first time I found Kal's Small Engine Repair in Greeley was on Google. My weed trimmer would not start and I tried everything to get it going. After finally giving up, I called Kal and talked to him about the issue I was having with my trimmer. This was of course on a Saturday afternoon when no one should be working, let alone answering their business phone. I didn't expect an answer, but Kal got on the phone and proceeded to spend at least a half an hour helping me diagnose the problems and giving me advice on how to order parts on Amazon for the trimmer. He went way beyond what was required to help me and was a great help in me getting my trimmer repaired. The second time I called Kal was for my Homelite power washer with a Honda GVC160 engine. I had used some old gas in the washer and it had caused the power washer not to start. I spent 5 1/2 hours on a Sunday trying to diagnose the problem but finally gave up and called Kal. I took the washer to him and he spent about an hour with me figuring out that it was a stuck open intake valve that was the issue. He worked on the dirty valve with some special cleaner/penetrating oil and voila, the valve came free. He had it running like new later that afternoon. His efforts saved me from having to purchase a new power washer to the tune of at least $320.00. He only charged me for 3 hours of his time at a very reasonable rate of $40/hour. I was only too happy to pay him for his excellent service and knowledge. So, to sum this review up, if you have a small engine problem and the darn thing just won't start or just won't stay running, give Kal a call. It will save you many hours of frustration and he can get your engine up and running again in no time. You will be back to getting your jobs done around the house again with a smile on your face. Total thief! My riding Toro mower wouldn't start so I paid him to replace the starter solenoid, then the regulator, then the starter. After none of these worked, he found a loose wiring connection that was duct taped together. He then charged an additional $280 in labor to find this...on top of the deck! To top it off he only accepts cash, but yet somehow had no change so he just took my $300! read more
