Many options were available and samples were provided behind the counter by a worker offering to taste test. Many of the candies offered are gummies. I know what you may be thinking. You can get the same high sugar octane candies at Bulk Barn, Couche Tard or Jean Coutu for half the price that they sell here. Yes folks.....you sure can. However the candies here have a different taste than the run of the mill Bulk barn Swedish berries or gummy bears. To me actually taste fresher and better. This is for one person who used to buy gummy bears and cola bottles by bulk at BB. However Bulk Barn is most likely the cheapest in QC to purchase candy. Then.... I discovered Haribo gummy bears. You pay more but I believe quality and taste is like a party in your mouth. Haribo does claim to have invented the gummy bear in Germany many moons ago. Back to Squish they are trying to conquer the market of premium candy. The store is bright and there is lots to check out if you are a sweet tooth. They have spent time on aesthetics such as a fresh clean store design and modern upscale looking packaging. Of course this is needed to convey an upmarket image. Excellent as a gift or stocking stuffer or co-worker (that you like) gift. Go for the 3 for $15 deal if you so desire and if available. Squish away.

The menu is massive if you've got a sweet tooth: caramelized fruit, tanghulu, chocolate-covered strawberries (I had the one with Tartinade Mordjene--delish!), crepes, waffles, fun drinks like "Choco Crack," and so much more. I gave the pistachio chocolate bar a try too--tasty, but for $24.99+tx, it's definitely on the pricier side (I saw a similar one at Jean Coutu for $15.99). It makes me feel just a smidge less guilty about eating junk food, lol. Despite all the above ingredients I listed, these candies are by no means "natural, health food store gummies." They contain artificial colours and flavours and preservatives, like all the other mainstream run-of-the-mill gummies. They're pretty tasty though. I like the variety packs as they have different types all mixed together. The Sweet Sixteen Jujube and Gummy Mix has gummies of different shapes and sizes and textures. I love variety so I loved this mix. The only thing that would have made it better is the inclusion of sour gummies, like the Sour Patch Kids type. Actually, I think they might have a mix like that. We were told by a waitress that our wait time would be approximately 50 minutes, to which we replied that we were fine with waiting. While waiting, we noticed that service was very slow- some groups were seated for 10-15 minutes before getting water and ordering. Some parties also waited a long time before getting their bill- I heard one group tell their waitress that they had been done eating for 25 minutes and were going to dine and dash if they didn't get their bill in the next 5! After waiting for about 45 minutes a very frantic waitress told the party that was waiting right behind us that they would no longer be able to get in- and basically turned them away, even though the restaurant was still open until 9PM! Another waitress kept coming to see us while we were in line to tell us that we should leave because they only had 4 waiters that night. However, I could count at least 10 waiters taking orders... very strange! We ended up waiting one hour before being seated and one seated service actually went pretty well. Our weather was very nice, he took our order very quickly, and the food came out within 10 minutes. Our desserts were very good. We were seated by 8pm, and most tables on the patio were vacant. Despite this, the waitresses told every person who showed up that they were already closed (one hour early!) Honestly, it was a mess! I would go back to a Juliette et Chocolat, but just not this location.
