I gave a two star review mainly because of the poor service and management of the restaurant. My boyfriend and I came here for a little dessert date in early August 2021. When we arrived there (around 7pm) there was a pretty long line of people waiting to be seated both inside and on the patio. We were told by a waitress that our wait time would be approximately 50 minutes, to which we replied that we were fine with waiting. While waiting, we noticed that service was very slow- some groups were seated for 10-15 minutes before getting water and ordering. Some parties also waited a long time before getting their bill- I heard one group tell their waitress that they had been done eating for 25 minutes and were going to dine and dash if they didn't get their bill in the next 5! After waiting for about 45 minutes a very frantic waitress told the party that was waiting right behind us that they would no longer be able to get in- and basically turned them away, even though the restaurant was still open until 9PM! Another waitress kept coming to see us while we were in line to tell us that we should leave because they only had 4 waiters that night. However, I could count at least 10 waiters taking orders... very strange! We ended up waiting one hour before being seated and one seated service actually went pretty well. Our weather was very nice, he took our order very quickly, and the food came out within 10 minutes. Our desserts were very good. We were seated by 8pm, and most tables on the patio were vacant. Despite this, the waitresses told every person who showed up that they were already closed (one hour early!) Honestly, it was a mess! I would go back to a Juliette et Chocolat, but just not this location. read more

I ordered the Praline Hazelnut bowl. This thing comes in a odd shaped glass that is deep with a narrow opening. All the way at the bottom are hazelnuts and liquified chocolate. On top of that are two scoops of ice cream (vanilla + hazelnut), and on top of that is 9 million pounds of crappy whip cream. Then there is a weird pretzel looking object that is stuck into the whip cream to give it some type of effect. Tasted like a plantain to me. Ohh yeah...the bottom layer had MERINGUE pieces. (nice touch). Anyway, when is this place going to stop hyping up their desserts and serve something real? My gripes: 1. Not enough ice cream 2. Way the hell too much whip cream. More ice cream less whip cream 3. Quality of ice cream is not high (meaning not dense enough) 4. The bottom layer of chopped hazelnuts and chocolate solidified into kryptonite....was unable to break through and eat it. I'm not coming back. Gave this place 2 chances. I'm a Californian. What got to me is seeing people waiting an hour to get in with a lineup that stretched outside the door (and in the dead of winter too!) .. this left me bewildered. We went with their "Arriva" hot chocolate (which came highly recommended by our server) which consisted of a half filled wine glass (???) of very bitter chocolate. We immediately regretted not going with their normal chocolate. We weren't asked how we enjoyed them until the very end of our meal to which we were told that we could ask for milk to make it less bitter.... ummm no... it'll only be bitter instead of not very bitter....also the point of hot chocolate is being... HOT. Serving it in a wine glass that conserves no heat is kind of counterproductive, is it not? Either way, the hot chocolate was served mild. Yey! We went with their tasting tray of brownies and desserts and we didn't find anything overly appealing except for maybe 1 brownie. Perhaps we should have went with their crepes instead... they sure looked nice (...but so did the tasting plates)... perhaps they were more enjoyable! Service was OK but we sure waited a looooong time before we could order and when we wanted to pay to leave. With a line-up stretching outside, you'd see why that happens. Place is very pretty though, as are most Centropolis buildings... sadly doesn't deliver the quality when it matters most, IN MY MOUTH!!! The price-tag adds up very quickly, it cost us about $40, for two half glasses of hot chocolate and a pair of tasting plates.... not a lot of value here folks. Juliette et Chocolat is overrated, maybe it once was amazing in its original location but it franchised itself and let's be honest, the basic principals of what they need to provide me wasn't met. Even if the hot chocolate was good, (which is wasn't)... the amount of hot chocolate simply isn't enough and in fact both our "glasses" could have counted for 1 mug of hot chocolate. It took us about 15 minutes to get placed and 2 groups of 4 passed before us. Like couldve you guys not clean the table and place us? Especially it was not rushing. Well I'm really surprised at how low this location is rated. I was there with girlfriends on a Saturday afternoon. We asked for a booth and although there was a bit of a wait because they were full, we got the booth in a decent wait time. We took our time to look at the menu and our server came by several times to ask us if we were ready. I appreciated this, rather than having to track her down considering how busy it was. Overall our desserts came promptly and the service was efficient. I had the fondue and I loved the variety of fruit options. I'd definitely go back as how can I refuse fondue? read more

Finally when we were seated and ready to order, it took so long for the waiter to notice our table and take our order... really disappointed. We had to wait long again to receive our food. And by the time we did, our desserts were not really hot or warm as we wanted them to be. I had ordered a Nutella crepe and I wanted Vanilla ice cream, but they didn't have any (how?!)- only hazelnut and chocolate. I also had some pieces of meringues on my dish, which I really don't recommend them adding because it tasted awful and bitter. My friends and I went to Juliette et Chocolate for a quick coffee. It took about 10 minutes to be seated and another 10 minutes until the waitress came to take our order. It was not a particularly busy night; we were three, we each ordered a coffee and two of us ordered brownies. We were busy catching up until we realized it had been close to 45 minutes since we had ordered! I asked the waitress how much longer it'll be and she rudely said "it's not ready yet". A great place for any chocolate lover, however I do have mixed feelings about this place. The place is a bit overpriced and the service seems quite slow even when it is not busy. I have ordered their hot chocolate drinks twice and both times they were cold. Even with my recent trip back there, I had asked the waitress if she could make sure the drink was hot, and yet still it was cold. I also tried the raspberry lemon trifle and it was very sour, only go for it if you are a lemon lover. The chocolate waffle plate was too much for me and I didn't even finish the rest of my waffle because it was dry and hard as a rock! I have been hearing about Juliette et Chocolat for years now but since am from Laval I never went to their store on St-Laurent in Montreal. So when I heard they had opened a new location at Centrepolis I was overjoyed. But every time I would pass by there was a huge lineup and I have to patience for that. So finally last night I decided to threat my parents to desert for their anniversary and ended going to Juliette et chocolate. If you love chocolate, this place is heaven on earth. Their menu is so vast, and if its your first time in can be overwhelming. So I suggest getting a platter of mini deserts. I got les dégustation de Juliettes et Chocolat which was a mini sundae, a mini profiterole, a mini crepe with strawberry and chocolate, a mini fondu, and a mini brownie. I also got a traditional hot chocolate, which they bring in a mini pitcher and a bowl, so Parisian!!!! It was really good and now I know what i want next time. The waiter was super nice asked us if we had any questions and gave some suggestions. The store is nice and bright, the ambiance is light and cozy. Great place for dessert! read more

Message to the owner, If you'd like to be in business for a long time I'd suggest you change your staff and or management and restructure your business.....wait is long for no reason empty tables are always available in the back but never offered, staff is stuffy and inexperienced, i have been to Juliette and chocolat at various locations but more frequently in Laval. The service is always the same very poor....we always get served warm water the wait staff seems to always be running around without a clue as what to do or how to serve or how to prioritize. Your restaurants are always under staffed... why is that? Clearly people love crepes and there aren't too many places in Laval as of yet, but once others begin to open up I would highly expect your business to suffer. Not because of your product but because if your service. As I am in the restaurant business myself I would bet my least experienced trainee would do a better job than your staff there. It's very unfortunate but it's true sorry for the unpleasant review but after frequenting your restaurant on various occasions and always leaving dissatisfied I thought I should write a review. And btw your staff didn't speak a word of English which really I have no problem as I am bilingual but it's funny that she miraculously could speak it when it was time to pay and she would be getting a tip. FYI the glass water bottle brought to my table after we requested for water and we got ONE half refill she decided to bring us a dirty bottle of water,it was disgusting... invest in an ice machine and in new pitchers/ water bottles.
