We started our working relationship via emails as I was living out of state and several time zones away. He was prompt with replies and listened to my requests in a new home. Judson supplied a few lists of potential houses (updated daily) and I felt prepared for my search when I came to the area for a few days. Judson picked me up from the airport and chauffeured me around to view several homes that fit my search criteria. He was honest with his opinions of the houses and used his knowledge of the area and contracting to answer my questions as they occurred. When I did find the right house, he got right to work contacting the sellers' agent for information. He worked hard negotiating to ensure I got a good deal as well. After the house was under contract, he continued to answer my questions and connect me with other home services he thought I may need. He even was able to go to the house and monitor some of the work that was needed to get the house ready for my family and me to move in before we arrived in town. This was a really easy home buying experience for me thanks to Judson. I never once felt wary of his actions or considered he was not working his hardest for me. Our referral was correct: he did take good care of us!

The reason for the poor star rating is that Century 21, does not follow state law regarding return…read moreof security deposit. What about when a tenant moves out? What is the deadline in North Carolina for returning a security deposit? Under North Carolina law, a landlord must return the tenant's security deposit within 30 days after the tenant has moved out. If the landlord's claim against the deposit can't be finalized within that time (for example, if necessary repairs haven't been completed), the landlord may send an interim accounting at the 30-day point and then a final accounting within 60 days. So, The property we rented was professionally cleaned, the same for the carpets, we moved out roughly 3 weeks early, but paid the rent till the end. Based on the law it seems that they should have returned the security deposit a while ago, move out date was 10/13, we returned the keys and remote, completely ended the lease, as of todays date 11/30, no refund yet. The house has already been sold, but they are holding our deposit, why I don't know, but hopefully this gives you insight to what to expect. Also I must say as far as over seeing the property I have no complaints. Just not very happy with them regarding holding our deposit there was no deduction from the deposit so that shows there lack of following the law.

His background as a contractor and engineer is a nice addition and brings valuable insights to the table. He gave us great advice about picking out a lot, with special attention to the location, orientation, and lighting. We're delighted with the way the house turned out! In addition to his expert real estate advice, Steve is a joy to work with. He has wonderful interpersonal skills and is an excellent communicator. He knows how to communicate a client's needs and did an excellent job of advocating on our behalf. Even though we were living out of state, he helped us keep track of the construction process. He was more than generous with his time and did everything possible to see the process through to completion. Steve Doyle came highly recommended through a trusted friend. We had high expectations going into the process, but he has far exceeded them. We have owned a total of six houses and have worked with excellent realtors in the past. However, Steve has been the best of the best. He has our highest respect and admiration.

The prospect of building a new home without being physically present during its construction made us a bit nervous, so we picked our realtor very carefully. We wanted our realtor to vigorously represent our interests while we were out of state as if he were buying the house himself. We could not be more pleased with our choice! It was obvious that Steve had a lot of experience. His depth of knowledge was very impressive and eased our concerns regarding new construction. Steve's attention to detail was second to none. More than once, we were able to avert a serious problem because Steve noticed it early on while it was easier to address it with the builder and have it fixed. It was during these times that we were grateful to have a realtor that not only had an eye for detail but also the experience to know what to look for. Steve was also invaluable in our dealings with the builder; he has great communication skills and always gave us great advice each time an issue arose during the build process. I highly recommend Steve Doyle to anyone who is looking for a realtor in the area. I'm just sad that I can't hire him to sell my house in Arizona. We worked so well together that it felt like I knew him much longer than I did. He was always quick to return my calls and seemed to legitimately care about getting his clients the best outcome possible. Thanks Steve!

Trademark Commercial Team…read more Not happy with our experience with the Trademark commercial properties team Brian, Vijay and Ross. First we thought the team is knowledgeable about leasing retail spaces. They gave us high hopes about finding national tenants at initial meeting. So we decided to spend several thousand dollars to get the sketch ready. When we were ready to present the sketch to market the property they denied that they were not willing to market the property for us. Instead at this point they wanted us to spend another 100K before they can market the property. They took forever to return phone calls, voice mails or respond o emails. They just do not seem to care about the customers. This was the most unprofessional experience we've had with a company like this. They have a very unprofessional attitude and do not seem to care about other people's time. We simply wasted about a year worth of our time and so much money.

I can't emphasize enough how great a professional and personalized experience I had working with John! Having grown up in the area, he's extremely familiar with the Research Triangle and beyond. When I first consulted with John, he listened to my very specific parameters and took an interest in me as a client and entrepreneur. He took ownership in building a relationship of trust. His communications were prompt and reliable. His sensitivity to my time schedule and persistence in negotiating helped me leverage a great deal immediately. Within several days, I signed a lease for a space that meets all of my needs in a premium location with a reputable property manager. I'm so thankful I had John to take care of me, and I will always send clients his way. He also gets free haircuts as long as I'm around!

When we moved in, the carpets were in unacceptable condition--they had a strong odor and visible urine stains throughout multiple rooms. It was clear they had not been properly replaced or remediated prior to our move-in. This made the home feel unsanitary and not truly livable from the start. We started cleaning the carpet and there were mounds of cat hair that came up as well as baking soda, assuming it tried to be treated superficially before we moved in. We reported everything right away, expecting a reasonable solution. He sent a company to clean the rugs, but the next day the odor and hair was still there. We reported the photos and smell again, and Instead, we were told by Brian (the owner) that they would only replace the carpets if we agreed to extend our lease AND pay for half of the cost--even though this was clearly a pre-existing issue. He would not come visit himself or send anyone to experience the issue first hand either. It is incredibly frustrating to be asked to financially contribute to fixing an issue that should have been addressed before the property was ever rented out. Basic standards of cleanliness and habitability were not met, and the way this was handled showed a clear lack of professionalism and responsibility. We could not afford to move out and pay that cost of moving, plus a deposit on another home, so we had to split the cost and sign the lease. They just had the carpets replaced and the padding underneath was completely stained and visibly destroyed. Overall, this experience has caused unnecessary stress and left us feeling unsupported as tenants. I would not recommend Schambs Property Management based on how this situation was handled.
