Reading the important info., on the summons, the hubby wrote his written statement with all the important details included, attached our trip itinerary and then I made a stop at circuit court to drop it off, since it had to be within 2 weeks and it was pretty close. It's been years since I last had Jury Duty, made me forget. I actually drove to the wrong court on Alakea. I had a hard time finding parking, circled around a few times, finally parked, went through security check like TSA, dropped forms off at room 1060. That was quick, the hubby got a response via email within 2 business days and shared the great news with me. Now the hubby asked, what if we are on a trip again ?! The next time he receives the Jury Duty Summons, will cross our fingers that the next date will not coincide with our travels. Yep. If you receive that letter, have no fear, don't worry too much, just follow the instructions and everything will be alright!

Jury Duty I was…read moresummoned for jury duty and scheduled to check in 8:30 am. Arrived at 7:45 and parked at the South St jury parking garage on the cornet of South St and Pohukaina Stt. Take your ticket and the check in person will validate. Entering the building, you will go through security similar to the airport where you put your belongings in a basket for scanning and walk through a metal detector. Once inside look for the desk where they will ask you for the letter that summoned you for jury duty. There you can also get your parking ticket validated. If you get lost, there are people there to guide you to the correct place. Once checked in, you will be directed to go to your assigned courtroom. Inside the courtroom, the presiding judge's law clerk will take a roll call then it's all following directions after that. They do give you an hour break for lunch. Pro tip: eat, drink, use the bathroom beforehand. You cannot take any food inside the courtroom. Drinks are allowed if in a flask.

My ticket I pulled was #3 they were on #2 I was waiting at least 10mins before they called my number . No other customers waiting as you can see in my video . Service very slow and the old saying goes typical State workers lol. Finally got to a window and the clerk moved also slow by inputting my information then printing it out on the printer . Hopefully I don't have to return to this place again .

I happened upon the Supreme Court building after seeing the amazing statue of King Kamehameha V in…read morefront. The historic Supreme Court building has a long history. The structure was intended to be a palace for Kamehameha V, but converted during construction to a needed government building for the Republic of Hawaii, known as Ali'iolani Hale. The Italian Renaissance Revival building was designed by Thomas Rowe, a British architect and dedicated in 1884. Today, the building houses the King Kamehameha V Judiciary Center and the Hawaii Supreme Court. The building is free and open to explore, but you have to go through security. The interior has a lovely marble atrium with dual winding staircase in a center atrium. There is a small dome at the top of the atrium. Original woodwork exists throughout the building. In the History Center is a small movie theater, that offers several interesting films about Hawaiian government and history. A small museum houses early Hawaiian legal artifacts. An original Victorian era courtroom is available to explore. Upstairs is a modern courtroom that serves as the Hawaii Supreme Court, which was not in session during my visit. Plan an hour visit (or less if you skip the films). I did not see nearby parking, I took the bus as part of my visit to Iolani Palace, which is across the street. They are open 8:00 am - 4 pm.

Thank goodness for clear signs... I found Courtroom 1A without needing to ask anyone. The bailiff was sitting outside the Courtroom. He asked for my name, but couldn't find it on the docket. Yikes. I was almost sure that I had the right day, place, and time... He wrote my name in... next to "Registered Owner of ___(license plate number)___". Whew... We went in, took a seat, and waited for the Judge to arrive. He started exactly at 9am. I liked his local accent. For example, he said, "When you're pau, don't leave right away. Wait for your paperwork." LOL! I was called forward first... I was asked to state my name. I showed my placard and received my paperwork. I was done very quickly! Thank you!

I've gone through two divorces now because I'm obviously a great judge of character like that, and my dealings back in 2016/2017 were nothing but helpful at this courthouse, and mostly were like that still until this clerk ended up being the one I dealt with the past two times. She started noting what I needed to correct in the document, then brought up a child support document that I already knew about and didn't want to file, nor is it mandatory, because I have the Guidelines Worksheet already done, and yes, I am trying to keep child support out of the equation as much as possible because as a child of divorce myself, I know it gives parents the wrong motivations to have overnights with the kids. I just want to move on with my life, and am fine to keep supporting the kids financially myself, but apparently this clerk somehow has authority over what I file, so she tore her notes off, told me that if I wouldn't do things her way, she wouldn't help me, and handed the document back. Apparently this lady has been a menace for customers since at least 2018, so I'm guessing she has tenure or connections, or something. So Kapolei, you have an amazing courthouse with very helpful staff, but this lady is the wart on your otherwise beautiful face and reputation. Please get rid of her, or at least transfer her to a position out of customer service. She's absolutely atrocious with people. If not for her, I would have given 5 stars.

Was told I could pay my ticket at any Courthouse. I came with a check, and a copy of my ticket…read more When you first walk in this Pearl City Courthouse after security, there's a divider to indicate a line to stand for cashier help. There's 4 cashiers with 3 listed as "regular cashiers" and then 1 as "Traffic Violations Bureau (TVB) Cashier". I go out of line and ask, if the TVB Cashier is open and she said I have to stand in line even if to pay a TVB ticket. I don't understand why you would leave what looks to be a divided, separate and open line for the "TVB Cashier" only, and if that wasn't the case, have a sign saying there is only one line that handles everything. So I wait in line again. The cashier tells me that my ticket isn't in their system and they have to input it before I can even pay my ticket. My ticket has been in the eKokua system well over two months. They told me to sit and they'll call me up when ready. I waited quite a while. Wasn't until I decided to just stand in line once again did the initial cashier see me and remember my ticket to be paid. I was sent to another cashier, who I asked "the other cashier told me they had to input my ticket because it wasn't in the system, so is it because my ticket was initially Kaneohe court EVEN THOUGH I was told I could pay any Courthouse" and he said "no, it was always in our system". BRAH. They need to improve their organization not only in their cashier office, but their file organization system. Honestly, I should've went to the Kaneohe courthouse instead.

After 3 hours of sitting in the court room, it cost me $122 for a ticket that I could have paid online for $75 but for some reason I had to come to court for it which charged me $47 in additional fees. When I got home my clothes even smelt gross. Parking is very sparse so you need to come early to get a stall. With all the additional fees that every person that was there had to pay, they need ti do something about this establishment. Only reason why there are 2 stars id because the cashiers were very nice and friendly.

She greeted me with a smile, treated me extremely courteously, and was very knowledgeable about procedures that I needed to take. She told me everything I needed to know, and did so politely , and with a smile. The world needs more people like Celia. She showed me some Aloha . I was kinda hoping to find more outstanding tickets so that I can see my friend Celia again. (just kidding)

No one in our family went to Ewa 7 years ago and got a ticket- mystery! Came to District Court to pay this citation and woman at window said nothing on our record. Come to find out it was a typo and ticket belonged to another car. Phew!!! Before you enter you need to go through a metal detector... oh my... Got a license plate clearance letter after asking the clerk several times for one to show Kidney Cars. Mystery solved!!!
