End of July I had a cleaning and consult for motto aligners. I prepaid ~$1800 for the aligners and 2 planned extractions. Beginning of August, I came in for the extractions and waited 1 hour before being led back. My aligners are not there, so I asked to speak with the dentist to make sure the aligners are being made, before I have my extractions. The office manager told me he's not there and he would call me next day. I pushed and the oral surgeon checked on the progress, turns out the plan was rejected and they were preparing to extract 2 teeth. One of them would've been high risk. I requested a refund for the prepaid amount and was informed I would receive a check. Now, beginning of October. I still do not have a refund. I called their billing office and was told they cannot refund more than $1000 and I'd have to talk to the office. The office will not answer the phone. 100% do not recommend.

I was told I would be refunded for any overpayment. While my Humana Insurance and Aspen agreed on a monetary amount I would be refunded for any over payment on my part. I called Aspen's customer service, which is in Syracuse, N.Y.. After a short discussion they told me I was due $199.40 in refund when one service was paid. Aspen's records showed still pending. I then called Humana to find out what was the hold up. I was informed that all services had been paid. Humana called Aspen while I was on the phone. Human informed Aspen that the service rendered and day was paid by electronic transfer. Which Humana gave Aspen the dates sent, received by Aspen and electronic transfer number. Aspen told us that a case would be open and check back in ten days. I then went to the office where service was rendered. I talked to the office manager and was told that a certain day of service was still pending. I informed the office manger it has been paid and I have the electronic transfer number. She then try to blame corporate. I told her I don't care about who the blame is, I want my money that Aspen owes me.

Short version: Lacks compassion and honesty. Avoid!…read more We came for a consultation in advance of having my daughter's wisdom teeth out. They patiently explained what everything cost, and we put down a deposit to secure the appointment. The day of the surgery, we had an extremely bad experience that could have been avoided. As I was called back after surgery, the nurse assistant coldly lectured me, telling me my daughter was emotional (as some people are after surgery) and not to hug her or comfort her in any way. When I went in, my normally stoic daughter broke down sobbing and the nurse assistant glared at me as though daring me to reach out. On the way home, after I had paid the quoted balance, all my daughter could talk about was how this young woman had treated her while she was half incapacitated. The woman berated my daughter for crying and even told her that she was upsetting other patients. (Knowing that this was not an unusual reaction, she could have discreetly separated my daughter from any allegedly upset patients.) For days afterward, that was the part of the surgery that was the most painful for her. There was no followup appointment, and a month later my daughter was still experiencing discomfort and does not want to go to the dentist anymore. Obviously, we didn't want to go back and risk getting our heads bitten off again and just figured we would let it drop...but imagine our surprise when we got a bill for $613 that they hadn't bothered quoting us for! As it turns out, they had messed that up too and quoted us a bill that was more than 25% less than what they actually wanted us to pay. They agreed to give us a discount on the remainder, but it's not enough. I am giving them two stars instead of one because at least she didn't get dry socket or any complications from the procedure itself. It's just the support staff that was terrible. So, to recap: They were unprofessional, unprepared, and frankly unrepentant. I will never, ever recommend them to anybody.

They gave me the paperwork which I did in a few minutes, and in the meantime they called my dentist office to get the x-rays. Not 5 minutes later they called me in the back. The oral surgeon came only 3 minutes after I sat down in the chair. He spent more time with me than most doctors do with their patients. Last but not least as I was leaving within 15 to 20 minutes someone emailed me the pricing breakdown, most importantly saying how much I needed to pay out-of-pocket after insurance. The previous oral surgeon I went to... Their office took 1-2 months before they called me with that kind of pricing information.

Did you know that male jaw growth can continue and cause shifts through ages 16-18 or so? Requiring surgical corrections and/or second round braces. So.... even once done with a first set of braces keep up on at least a yearly orthodontist check so if correction is needed you catch it before we did. It took months to get just the patient consult appointment and by then we had to take the only date and time for surgery available that would be in enough time to heal, get the Invisalign with a fake tooth built in, & head to college by early August. It was very stressful cutting it this close! However, the oral surgery went smoothly! We checked in not too long after 9 am and he was back to the room for surgery by 9:45 a.m or so. I was invited to go back with my anxious son until time for them to put him under. He took longer than anticipated to come out of it and I got to go back & check in on him then pull the car around while a staff member walked him out. Discharge directions about medications and use of a prescription mouthwash as well as keeping gauze in his mouth until bleeding slowed, and soft diet foods and recovery timeframes were clear. We added in use of the highly recommended by friends face ice wraps which helped pain & swelling significantly. If facing wisdom teeth removal, order the face wraps with ice packs that Velcro around top of your head holding the ice pack holder to your cheeks/jaws. We ordered two on Amazon and had them in freezer before surgery to trade out every 20-30 mins the first 24 hours & a few times daily after. 20% of estimated bill is due the day of surgery or before, pretty standard. No follow up unless a problem post op.
