Boom, our 4 year old is writing! The facilities are also lovely, and include a large shared space for gross motor play even when the weather is yucky. Most of all, we have really appreciated the community of other families, many of whom have become friends.

The classrooms are spacious and inviting with lots of windows and there is a giant playroom in the center of school for those days that outside play isn't an option. Over the past several months, I have observed interactions that have concerned me. On multiple occasions, I saw children crying intensely for extended periods without being comforted. I also witnessed teachers physically guiding children away by their hands or pushing them aside when they were asking for attention or were not behaving as expected. These interactions often appeared abrupt rather than patient or supportive. Another thing that stood out to me was how photos seemed to be taken. I often saw teachers dancing, making funny faces, or tickling children to capture smiling pictures. Once the photo was taken, the interaction would quickly end, and they would move on to the next child. This gave me the impression that the photos did not always reflect the children's day-to-day experience. Of course, these are only my personal observations from the playground, not from inside the daycare. Still, because I have seen similar interactions repeatedly over many months, I felt it was worth sharing. If you are considering this daycare and have other options, I would encourage you to visit, observe how the staff interact with the children, and make the decision that feels right for your family.
