So winter time it doesn't seem like a good idea cause the children were all sick when my son attended the school. You can walk in with your shoes or sneakers on. They do not provide shoe protectors to avoid germs. When I went to pick up my son there were another child's pacifier in my son's mouth. Next day he got sick at 3 months. He's currently 6 months and haven't gotten better because the doctors couldn't give him medication. When I asked the director if my son get tummy time(3 months) she said he's too young for tummy time and that it will strain his muscle. Didn't make sense to me because the doctors made note that the baby do tummy time when he's awake so he can develop his motor skills. The director said that she didn't know that. That was a red flag for me. As I mentioned my son is 6 months now and still struggling to sit up. He has no interest in rolling over. For the little time I have with him I work on these areas as the day care has lack in encouraging him to reach these milestones. The other teachers love my son and of courses care for his well being. But I feel like the curriculum is a bit out dated.

Our daughter has thrived at this daycare, and we have loved all of her teachers. The small classrooms and individual attention from the teachers is a huge perk, and they helped my daughter accomplish many milestones. It was amazing watching her come home having learned new skills and words at daycare. A HUGE perk is that CPD provides breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack, which meant I never had to worry about packing food, and she was exposed to a wide variety of foods every day. We made the difficult decision to move out-of-state in early 2021, and the hardest part was knowing we wouldn't be able to send our daughter to CPD anymore. Of note, CPD took great precautions after they were allowed to re-open in 2020 during the COVID pandemic, and we we always felt comfortable bringing our daughter there, even during this otherwise uneasy time. We love CPD and if they ever opened a location in Southeast NH, we'd be the first in line to enroll.

Not only is the facility and outdoor play spaces beautiful, but the school follows a curriculum that is shared each week and brings in outside companies, librarians and more to do specialized activities onsite as well. From bike days to pizza/pj fundraisers, apple pie making for Thanksgiving, to art shows, there was always something to look forward to. When we looked at many daycares when my first child was born, this school stood out leaps and bounds above the rest for having an educational plan in place, not just child care. I can't thank the Goddard School enough for the role they have played in such formative years for my children. The teachers care about the kids like family.

I don't doubt that some parents experience good things from Artisan. From what I hear their infant…read morecare is excellent and we loved the addition of music in the curriculum. But in speaking to other parents of kids my daughter's age, they were/are having similar issues with staff and management that we had before we left. I would recommend against transferring into Artisan at least after toddler stages. We immediately looked to Artisan for a preschool program because we had toured there when she was an infant and loved the presentation from that time. My daughter began her experience with daycare at a small in-home facility in Burlington and did very well there, but eventually grew out of that format and needed more structure with children her age. We didn't look anywhere else, and were excited to move her into a preschool classroom shortly after turning three last year (May 2018). Over the summer, we were presented with mixed reports of behavior issues (completely uncharacteristic of what we had seen to that point) and other reports of her doing well. We were not sure what the problem would be other than maybe a transitional issue. After a teacher change in the fall, we discussed the plan created with the previous teachers over the summer at the outset with the new staff. We began to notice however that they didn't seem to be following it. We again kept getting mixed reports from different teachers as to her progress. To be honest, her teachers' quality seemed to go down with the new staff. Also new was Director Julie, who eventually presented us with an ultimatum in November 2018 that we enroll her in public funded special needs evaluations or be removed from Artisan because they had no answers. This pressure was confusing and didn't sit well with us and we found their expertise to be lacking, so we didn't trust their insistence on there being a special need issue. I come from a family full of educators at all levels and their inability to creatively find and enact a plan didn't seem right with anyone. We pulled her from Artisan before Christmas 2018 and found a spot for her at Primrose in Burlington for even more money that Artisan was charging, but the cost difference was well worth it. Any behavioral issues were quickly dealt with and now, at 4.5 years old in a pre-k program she is excelling in all areas and working on first grade material. We're given glowing praise from her new teacher frequently. We purposely waited to see how she fared at her new school before posting any reviews, but her success only further shows me Artisan staff did not have the training or creative capacity to solve what amounted to be a simple problem. My wife and I experienced a lot of stress over her inconsistent care and Julie's ultimatum. Now we sleep very well knowing our daughter is in good hands at Primrose.

My daughter cried almost every time I picked her up to leave! She then transitioned to the toddler room but still tried to sneak down the hall at drop off to Maria's room for the longest time! Now, she is just over 2 years old and can recite her ABCs, count to 20, almost spell her 8 letter name, loves to "read" and "write" and recite any nursery rhyme you can think of! However the main reason I felt compelled to write this review was when she started to count backwards from 10! Perfectly every time! I scrambled to look up this stage of learning online and found out it was common for four year olds! Of course my daughter is the smartest one of all! But truly this is 100% because of the learning received at Amys Cozy Corner. She loves going to school each day and I have 100% confidence leaving her here. Almost always, Amy is in the toddler room singing to a captivated audience of toddlers. The staff are amazing, consistent, fair and really care about teaching these kids, not just babysitting. I have stacks of amazing art work that comes home every day and I love the fun activities they plan for the kids; most recent was Pancake Tuesday where Mari dressed like a chef and cooked pancakes for the kids! The outdoor play space is great, safe and big enough for the kids. They are great at accommodating my crazy schedule when I'm running late. They are flexible when I need an extra day of care but always check to make sure they have enough staff to cover. If you're considering Daycare in Marblehead, look no further!

Today 3/12/2020 at around 6:30 pm after all parent picked up their kid. The center sent out an…read moreemail to parents stating the center will be closed the next day morning until the end of the month for now due to the Corona Virus. Unlike other daycare which gives at least 24 hours notice. They decide to avoid any conversation with parents in person and just shot out an email after all parents leave with their children. Closing of the center to prevent community spread is understandable. However, the Center still demand parents to pay for the full tuition which is over 100 dollar a day while it remains closed is not very reasonable. In a time like this, school employees still need to get paid and the money comes from either the owner of the facilities or all the parents, but I wonder if they are getting their full-salary while parents paying full tuition or they are only getting paid on a discounted rate because that would be a shame.
