I love Kara's ! I bought some tamales for the Christmas season. Homemade, chicken, pork, beef. We've shopped here several times and they never disappoint. They have everything from wild, local honey to wild game of several types. The staff is so very friendly and awesome too! During mild weather months (beginning in March - weather permitting) they have live local music in the evenings. They told me that they are adding more vendors to their music evenings too. What's not to love about this place? They pickle all kinds of stuff, (if you check out the picture I added, you can see the items I made off with) from cauliflower to sausage. They also have a spicy variety of several pickled goods, which are excellent. We are only in Arkansas for 1 week out of the year, so we make sure to buy lots when we can. The owner was kind enough to show us around the store, and we could see how proud he was of his products. Although he was an elder man, he beamed with gratitude when I relayed some compliments on his bread and butter pickles. I came to find out that they have all kinds of premium beef sausages, hand stuffed cornish game hens, pre-cooked and seasoned ribs, steaks, large shrimp, and a host of other enticing selections. We also learned that they will prepare food for you and even host private parties. I'll definitely be back, and not soon enough. This is an awesome Cajun, German and local meats location. They also have their own smoked meats, condiments, and pickled eggs that are a must have. Every time we visit relatives in Hot Springs Village we stop in before returning to Houston. They even give us free coolers for the trip back. read more
