This is a small jewelry shop in the Haywood Mall. The service is unfriendly, almost insulting. The arrogance of the people working there is second to none. The various items for sale are cheap and more on the "bling-bling" side. Overall I would recommend to avoid the place. read more

This review only pertains to my experience with them regarding watches. If you need a watch battery replaced they seem to do a good job. They have replaced several batteries on a variety of watches for me. Their prices seem reasonable and they are pretty quick... drop it off and take a lap around the mall and they're usually finished. I did take a watch to have repaired and was not happy with their overall service. It took about three weeks which was a little longer than they estimated, but when I came to pick it up it had not been cleaned, the time/date was not set, and none of the other buttons worked. I feel they did the bare minimum to get the watch to keep time, but for the price I paid, I would have expected the watch to be in complete working order and at least have been cleaned/polished. I suppose it was my fault for not setting expectations more clearly or not better understanding what they were planning to do. Regardless, I was disappointed with the overall experience of the watch repair portion of their business. read more

I originally took my wife's Skagen watch to Kay's Jewelers (located in Haywood Mall) to have the battery replaced. They said that they did not service Skagen watches and recommended Karat Plus. The guy at Karat Plus ruined the watch. When I returned to pick up the watch many of the numbers were detached from the face. Some were floating around inside of the watch, some were missing completely (see photo). The back of the watch was also severely scratched by the tools they used to open the watch to replace the battery. They did not offer to repair the watch, they did not offer to waive the charges for the battery replacement, and they certainly did not offer to repair the damages. I took the watch to Paradise Jewelers to have them provide an estimate to have the watch repaired properly. I was informed by the owner of Paradise Jewelers that Karat Plus doesn't have the correct tools to properly perform many of the services they advertise. You should not trust this business with your watch. read more

I don't even know where to begin on how horrible this company is. I took my wedding ring ( over $3,000 value) there to be resized. So, first off, their sign says resizing same day, yet, it took them two days to do the resizing. Since I go there on my lunches to pick up my ring, I was in a rush and did not fully inspect the ring. Instead, I just put it on to verify that the size was accurate. Two days later, I went to adjust the ring, and felt a poke on my finger. As I took the ring off to look at it, I saw a break in the ring where one was not before they started working on it. Also, I looked at where they did the resizing, they did very crappy work and it looked like they just put extra gold and didn't incorporate it in with the rest of the ring. Based on the value of my ring and the horrible job they did the first time, I was not willing and did not take my ring back to them because I did not have any trust or confidence in their company/work. When I returned to show them the pictures and to discuss the workmanship and how much it cost me ($350) to repair the ring at a reputable company (Kay Jewlers), he said, what do you want me to do about it. I told them that not only did I now have to pay for the repairs, I also had to pay the $80 for the resizing. He said I should have brought it to them to repair, I explained why I didn't and he said, he wasn't going to do anything, which I said I would do a review and they said they didn't care. Remember, faster is not always better. Not only would I never recommend my family, I wouldn't even recommend an enemy go there. Based on these other reviews, I trusted this place with my soon-to-be-husband's wedding band, which is a ring passed down from my Grandpa. I wanted it engraved with two simple words and our wedding date. The ring has words "carved" into the outside of it, so I didn't think it would be necessary to tell them which way I wanted the words engraved to the inside. THEY ENGRAVED THE RING UPSIDE DOWN and then blamed me for not specifying how to engrave it. He was extremely unapologetic for his mistake and wouldn't refund my money. He said I could leave the ring with them to buff it out but it would damage the ring. And that's IF they got it right the second time around. I wont leave anything in their care ever again. Just took my fossil watch here for a battery replacement per the recommendation of Dillard's, who doesn't do repairs. It only cost me $10 and 10 minutes of my time, which was cheaper and quicker than the other options I looked at. The guy was friendly and I had no issues. Went to this store as l was looking for a 3/4 carat three stone ring for my wife for our 10th anniversary. The owner gave us a great deal but little did we know till my wife went and had it looked at to find out it was Not 3/4 carat! it was only 1/2 carat... My wife took it back to the store they gave her a 3/4 carat only to find out the diamonds was not good quility as the 1/2 carat!! so she got the 1/2 carat back but l wanted to have a 3/4 carat so l had her go back and have them get us a good quility diamond but in 3/4 carat! They took her name and number and we will see how well this owner does or l will be returning the ring..!!!! read more

Took engagement ring in to be resized. Gentleman had ring resized in three hours. Took the ring home and noticed you could not only see the resized mark but also feel the resized cut. Also one side of the band was clearly thinner than the other side. I called business in the morning and was told you should be able to see it that it is a hairline cut. I told them I have never had a ring resized and received it with a hairline cut and I also had called two other jewelers to make sure that was the case with their work as well. Karat Plus told me to then bring in the ring which I promptly did. They told me nothing was wrong with it but they would fix it anyway. I asked if nothing was wrong then why would it need to be fixed? I didn't want to ruin the ring further so I asked for my money back so I could take the ring else where to have it fixed. Karate Plus told me no I could not have a refund or even half a refund, that nothing was wrong with my ring. I then drove to another jewelry store where I am getting the damage fixed which includes a $300 bill to replace the band that Karat Plus ruined. read more
