I haven't had any issues with the staff or the post office at this location. They have very helpful and kind. I am thankful for the location so I don't have to go to the other post office with a 20 person line that is much slower. Here I can look at items to buy. The attitude from the cashier was atrocious. My daughter and I came to look at their ornament collection. We always buy the annual Barbie and the mail truck. I asked about if they had a post office vehicle ornament this year, and was absolutely shamed for it "I've worked for 10 years here and have never seen a mail truck or post office themed" so I showed her the one I bought from this location last year and the year before for my husband. It's in the "on the road collection" to which she responded with ALL the sass "well, we obviously don't have it and I've never seen it". As someone who collects hallmark ornaments and drove 3 hours to come to this store and waited an hour for it to open (which it opened 7 minutes past the time on the door) this experience was so disheartening. Was she busy? No, we were the only customers in the store, but was she running around the store like her mortgage was late? Yes. She stated she called the owner who told her "she's never seen one ever". Like it was her mission during my visit to discredit me. I tried to save the visit by asking if they had lighthouse ornaments. My grandma is who I collected these hallmark ornaments with. But she passed this year and it would be so cute if Hallmark released a lighthouse ornament this year. To which she said " I don't think Hallmark designs the ornaments around your life events". They have nothing to do with this situation at the postal service You could blame our government for that ! the government took over all of these substations, and they now have to charge more, not that they want to, but you can blame the current administration for the situation at the substations! I like this place, come here often. I find the staff to be very nice, helpful and downright hilarious sometimes. I think the post office in the back is a great thing, means I don't have to go to the big post office. If you pay a few cents more, in my opinion, it's worth it. This Hallmark store has always been a United States Post Office. In fact, for over 20 years! Apparently, it lost its status and is no longer an agency of the USPS. So when you buy stamps or post packages, the prices are inflated - whereas you think you are at the US Post Office! For a book of stamps, they charge $0.90 when the current rate is $0.78. They never tell you, and they lead you to believe that they are a full-fledged post office. This is a deceptive practice that needs to be called out. The shop is quaint and clean but my complaint is the female worker at the post office in the back, she is RUDE as hell, I'm just trying to mail some stuff off and she acts like I'M the inconvenience, I also wanted to get a shipping label printed out so I could mail another package out after getting a box and She had an attitude, I just thought I would get it while I was there, How was I supposed to know An Item I listed on Ebay would sell WHILE I'm waiting in line there. I placed an online order this morning before the shop opened. According to the online directions the order would be ready within 3 hours (I assumed 3 hours after they open) and they had 3 of the item I wanted. It is a highly sought after item so I was excited to find it. 5 hours after they opened, I called to inquire about my order. The person I spoke to said she had no idea what I was talking about so I offered her the order number. She rudely said that she couldn't find the order so an order number would do no good and to call back and talk to a manager. When I called back the manager was gone. The person I spoke to said the items I wanted were no longer available most likely because they were sold that day. My credit card has been charged and as of this writing, I have not received a credit. I will never shop here! Terrible customer service! read more

My daughter went into "Karen's" on two occasions within the last week and was treated rudely by staff members. She was admonished for bringing the wrong envelop to the post office services and again for attempting to use change for paying for envelops. She had her receipt thrown at her. When I went in to confront the store manager, I was met by an employee not wearing PPE. Based on other reviews, this place is completely out of touch with the community and needs to move on to a business that does not involve serving the public. REVIEWING THE USPS: I haven't actually shopped the Hallmark store but I have to walk through it to get to the post office located in the back. The store is quaint with lots of cute stuff though! I wanted to review the post office inside because it is hands down my favorite post office ever! And I've done a ridiculous amount of shipping the last 5+ years. In the past, when I've gone to other usps locations, the staff has been a mix of friendly or not so friendly. I've experienced outright rudeness & being spoken to like in an idiot. It used to cause me a lot of anxiety, not to mention the long lines if you happen to go at the wrong time. Because this is a small branch, inside a small store, it's NEVER been busy. The most people I've ever had in line in front of me was 2, with 2 postal workers keeping things moving. The best part though is EVERY postal worker there is beyond friendly! I've often wondered where they find these people because they all seem to be similar souls (soft-spoken, calm, pleasant). They're efficient, but not frantic, they're friendly but not intrusive! This place is dangerous! Every time I come in for just one little thing or to drop something off at the post office I come across something I suddenly need! :) Staff is always friendly and helpful to me whether it be the postal end of the store or those in charge of all the other goodies. I find they are the perfect place to pick up little things -- a small appreciation token or just a theme item to add to someone's collection. Prices are not unreasonable and I have come home with multiple sale items. It's a great place for Christmas stocking stuffers and I have found unique Christmas cards. The post office section is small and if there is a line (especially during Covid) I notice many do not keep their distance. I've just wandered around until there are fewer people. read more

Sadly- a little over a week before Christmas and not only do they "close" at 8pm with no extended hours but lock the door at 7:55pm when two people were ready to go into the store- one being me. Really?? The other woman and myself stood there in disbelief and discussed this for a minute.and then parted ways. I wondered why this store doesn't appear to have happy employees. I live close by and have observed a few times less then friendly behavior. Because of its location and proximity I will frequent again because I love Hallmark- and having a post office inside is helpful as well but better be there in line before 4:55pm. I've lived around the corner from this shop since 1995 and frequented it many, many times. It's now actually "Karen's Hallmark," I think. Linda sold it. It's just your basic Hallmark store --- lots of cards and small gifts with seemingly-friendly service. HOWEVER, if you want to experience a Dr. Jeckyl/Mr. Hyde moment, just try to do a return. I purchased 4 boxes of holiday cards this year. I intentionally purchased more than I'd need because the "nice lady" behind the counter said I could return any that were unopened/unused. Lo and behold, the "nice lady" was nowhere to be found when, after the holidays I tried to return an unopened/unused box. Instead, Mrs. Hyde behind the counter said she would "talk to the employee" to let her know what the store policy was. She also pointed to an obscure sign off to the side behind the registers that says "No returns after 30 days." With all the other stuff they put at the bottom of their receipts, you'd think that would be a better place to put it. Or that maybe their employees could say that when they're SPECIFICALLY ASKED ABOUT A RETURN!!! Duh. This experience was a perfect example of a small business NOT owning up to its own mistake. Shame on you, Karen's Hallmark! It's a lot easier to KEEP a customer than to GAIN one. For me, it's not about the expense. It's about doing what's right when you make a mistake. Today she complained about me taping over my labels and that if she has to scan it more than once then it's not worth their time to try and scan it again! Hello!? There's no line and it's empty and your lazy ass is refusing to scan my labels because your scanner sucks ass. Time before they wouldn't give me a FREE priority mail envelope because I didn't buy the postage through them. They said they get no money when i buy my postage online. Very cute store. Nancy was helpful but Dianna was snotty. I drove out of my way to go to a "Hallmark" store looking for Halloween tissue paper. I signed into hallmark.com to find a store & it asked me to register to get a $5 coupon of participating Gold Crown Hallmark store. So I did. Dianna said I couldn't use it because they weren't participating products. I read the coupon she had just read & it specifically said participating Gold Crown "store" not "products". Nancy chimed to help Dianna & said they can't use coupons on products I didn't purchase. I asked them to try it. Dianna said she would but it wouldn't work. It worked. I came in this Sunday after having been here once and having a great experience. After asking Mike 3 desperate times for two different size mail bags he stomped off like a child rolling his eyes at me and my other half. It made me feel very frustrated and upset. I then went to the register to pay were the other helper apologized and informed me the Manager/Owner is not in. I let her know I will make sure to tell her of the horrible customer service I experienced. Tried to save a trip to the post office by stopping in to drop off priority mail packages for which I had already printed and paid for the postage. Line of probably 8-10 people. Not physically distanced at all. Literally standing a foot apart in line in this tiny, crowded, unventilated store. During COVID with our cases spiking, this is a no-go! Didn't want or need to spend much time in store as I was only dropping off my packages. They have no designated spot to place prepaid packages. Was rudely yelled at by the male employee when I asked where I could place my packages for drop off. And told to wait. No way I was going to spend a second longer than necessary in that place! Told him I would take my packages to the Post Office instead. The USPS in Rose Garden Lane has a drop off slot that can handle packages as well as a machine where postage can be purchased. It was less crowded, better ventilated and social/physical distancing compliant. All around a much better experience than this place! Karen's Hallmark is within walking distance of my home, but after my experience today I will choose to avoid going there at all costs! read more

I come here basically every week to drop off packages for Poshmark, and the staff is super nice to me everytime. I'm not sure why there are such bad reviews for this place, because there is most often no line at all, sometimes 2 people in front of me at most. This Hallmark store was very busy. I just went into get a card. The employee was very friendly. Being a small business owner like a few other individuals I know isn't easy. She provided great customer service. The store was very clean and decorated with good style. She offered me the rewards program and it was quite considerate of her to do that. My husband and son went in today to pick out a Jim Shore Santa figurine for me. He asked the lady with the long gray hair (who was not currently helping anyone) for some help. She treated them like she couldn't be bothered with them and she was incredibly short and rude to my husband when he started asking questions about the figurines in the case. She blew his questions off and told him to just come find her when he knew what they wanted. When my husband and son picked one from the case that they wanted to take a closer look at, They asked her to come over to show them when she had a chance. When she came over, they told her they would like to see the one in the back, so she rolled her eyes and said "of course you do". My husband and son picked out 2 items and spend over $100 but this will be the last time this location gets a dime from my family. With all the horrible reviews I honestly can't even believe they are still open. Im ashamed to have recommended this place to anyone and I certainly won't make that mistake again. read more

Hilarious when I came to leave this review the store had 1 and half stars, I'm just puzzled how they managed to get that extra half. Walk into this greetings store... but do not expect to be greeted. This is the most inhospitable store I've ever been in, talk about "Christmas spirit." My father and I were waiting in line for 10 minutes and were looked at, never acknowledged and were walked away from 4 different times from two different people. I d like to start off by saying that this used to be a great Hallmark for mailing packages until they hired this gentleman named Mike who runs the back mailing office. I hardly ever write bad reviews on a place unless I feel there was a major problem that needed addressing. This Mike person running the back is probably the rudest individual I have ever come across. I had a problem with the pricing of my package. He overcharged me by almost $70! I thought this was way overpriced so I went home and hopped onto the USPS website, plugged in all the dimensions, weight, height, length, etc right from the receipt Mike had given me... It came out to a mere $39 and change!!! That's a huge difference! I went back immediately and I asked to speak to his supervisor and he told me she doesn' t like to be bothered, she wasn't there, she's never there lol ??? So he was basically telling me he could just do what he wanted back there? Tell the customers to get out when he doesn't want to step up and handle the situation. I'm sorry but this person running the mail counter does not know the prices of packages and is more than likely overcharging customers on a regular basis. I went back there and tried to discuss it with him in a calm manner and he started getting very huffy with me and then told me to leave. COME ON KAREN YOU HAVE MORE BRAINS THAN TO HIRE SOMEONE LIKE THIS! Very disappointed in this hallmark and will not be returning. I will also have to tell everyone I know not to go here as well.
