It is a story with a bad ending for the owner. Lovely store within a a great park space at Uptown Plaza. I had a very teeny tiny issue with a $12 product - probably the least expensive item in this Upscale (trying to be Upscale) store. For some reason the cashier called the owner at her home to discuss what to do. WHAT TO DO !!! ???? She was impatient and offered no help - wanted my cc # or whatever for a very unique product . I left with no credit, no refund, ZIP ZILCH. How about "no worries lets get you something else" THE RESPONSE elicits how a customer feels, responds, and maybe reviews on platforms that have a big influence on diners, shoppers etc. The owner called me out on my review saying I was threatening yelling, and scaring the employees. I am 70 and injured with a smashed shoulder, four broken ribs and a brain bleed. The last time I yelled at any employee was probably 1980. And I am harmless - never did that. The owner is a FIRE STARTER and would do better with people if she was an Amazon Warehouse worker and not a front facing small business owner. This is a bad ending and the fire will burn because she is a fire starter. BAD ENDING FOR HER and the fire is going to burn. read more

Very unique boutique with beautiful, handcrafted goods. There were so many things I absolutely loved! Some of my favorites were: handmade hair clips by Karst, made of cellulose acetate, a material made from wood pulp, and cotton fibers. They were gorgeous and so unique! Earrings made by Kara Yoo, from sustainable materials, were very pretty. My favorite has got to be the most adorable amphora candlestick holders handmade by Erika Christine ceramics. Handmade wood resin block art made in Phoenix by Lana Nguyen were so vibrant! They also carry lots of beautiful unique baby clothing and accessories. Prices are on the higher end, but you're buying very unique items you won't see anywhere else. If you're looking for a beautiful and thoughtful gift, check them out! read more

A Hidden Gem. I visit Phoenix every year to see my folks and wanted to buy a gift for my cousin. I found this spot through Yelp and was pleased when I walked in. If you are looking for a unique gift such as mugs, pots, clothing, cards, jewelry and much more, this place may be a great choice for you. It is on the higher end of pricing but you are supporting artisans and specialty items. I ended up buying a small candle, card and really lovely mug. The mug;s design is one-of-a-kind and my cousin really loved it. I will return on my next visit to purchase some other goodies. This is a stopover I had chosen on our roadtrip. Instead of stopping at typical rest areas, we love discovering and shopping at small boutiques to support the local community and to find items we haven't seen before either online or in person. This is one of my favorite shops! In recent years, I've significantly changed my shopping habits, making a point to almost exclusively buy items that are made ethically, by people who are treated fairly. This generally means items that are made in USA, or are fair-trade, or otherwise have a transparent and clean supply chain. As you can imagine, it can be very difficult to find these items, especially in an actual brick-and-mortar store. This is why I appreciate Local Nomad so much, and why it's one of my go-to shops to browse for home goods, gifts, and accessories. The majority of the items I find here meet my shopping standards, and it's very refreshing to see a local shop embracing the same values that are important to me.
