If you're lucky, they sometimes have available a guitar for lending to musicians who for some reason left their instruments at home or got robbed, etc. The greatest thing about this is that after a long, exhausting, but productive jam, bands can go straight to drinking downstairs, which is the new Tomato Kick. The living room serves as the reception and venue for vocalist applicants, the driveway/small garage is where we sometimes set up chairs to interview those who want to go into production, and then inside is the band room. It's small, but it's got a full drum set and amplifiers. Shoes are not allowed inside, and while the owner is pretty easy to talk to, he does require you to respect. After all, the place looks pretty much like a home, so I wouldn't be surprised if he actually does live there. Anyway, since we are his "suki" already, booking is pretty easy. The place is known mostly to UP underground bands and has been a staple since it opened many years ago. In fact, it's one of the first rehearsal studios to open in the Maginhawa area. While the equipment do show signs of wear, they're still okay to use. Best of all, the place has a cheaper rate than most studios.

That's especially noteworthy because some jams take hours, and water breaks are pretty inconvenient if you have to cut on studio time just to venture outside to find it. There isn't much of a waiting area--the place is pretty small--but then again, this is a place for musicians at work, not a tambayan. The owner, fondly called Doc Randy, is a guitar aficionado by night and a dentist by day. After finalizing the design, I sent the finished pdf file to him via email. I don't know how many back and forth emails I sent but the response was always quick! Later on, they were the same printing services who printed my wedding invitations. They looked uh-mazing! The quality was excellent and the colors were so vibrant. What I appreciated is that they sent me proof samples before printing the whole batch just to be sure that there would not be any color matching issues.
