First, in early November 2023, when we had a problem with our washer at my family's cottage nearby, Cody came out to repair it. We had the same problem with that washer in mid-July of this year and determined that we didn't want to have it fixed again, only to have the same problem possibly happen again in another year. I decided to see what Forest TV had in stock and what their prices were, having decided not to buy again from the well-known regional appliance and hardware store in Rhinelander. I also remembered what several of our friends had said about Forest servicing what they sell and how kind and helpful the staff is there. We were in a time crunch because we had to leave town within 6 days. When I called Forest TV on a Saturday morning and told Gabriel about our need for a new washer very soon, he said he'd wait for us to come into the store: they were short-staffed and he'd have to leave to make a service call. When we arrived, Gabriel showed us several washers and, when we asked, gave us his recommendation based on our needs. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that their prices were less than that Rhinelander store. Gabriel even went way "above and beyond" his position and squeezed us in for an installation 3 days later, on the next Tuesday. He and Cody delivered and installed the new washer and took away the old one, all with the most helpful and friendly demeanor. When a friend needed a new refrigerator, I went with her to Forest TV to pick out her new one. As always, the staff there treated her with kindness, an experienced level of knowledge, and friendliness. Just like their website reads, Forest TV has a small-town store with "big box" prices. I was thrilled to find such a caring, reasonably-priced, helpful store in a small town - they treat customers like friends, like family. You will almost never see this kind of treatment in a big metropolitan area. From now on, Forest TV & Appliance is our appliance store. Thank you all for your knowledge, help, and kindness.

Since (as we found out) the sole appliance store in our town only services appliances bought from their store, we were referred to Tom -- who promptly returned our call and scheduled a visit to repair our dryer. While he was repairing our dryer I inquired whether he worked on stoves too (as the igniter on my gas oven was failing). He said, "Yes, I do," and he was willing to take a look at it after he finished the dryer. It turns out he had a new igniter on his truck and ten minutes later our oven was up and running again. Tom apologized that the bill would be higher than he quoted because of the extra work -- but no problem for us -- the oven and dryer were fixed and the price was fair and worth every penny. Fast forward two weeks -- the dryer starts acting up again. So we called Tom and again he promptly scheduled an appointment. It turns our that the new part he installed had failed. So he replaced it -- at no charge -- because it was clearly under warranty. Hopefully everything will keep running for a long time. But if something happens -- we'll be calling Tom again -- and we highly recommend him for your appliance repairs.
