Anyways, the manager was talking about politics, government, wars, and in a very loud tone saying some controversial things while customers around him trying to shop felt uncomfortable. An elderly lady was trying on clothes and I felt horrible because she couldn't get any help or feel comfortable considering the managers raising his voice complaining about things he probably shouldn't talk about in a work environment.. a family was beside him clearly uncomfortable as well kinda looking at eachother silently because of his childish behaviours. Honestly, made me never wanna come back! And I could say the same for the customers in store too! He even then was complaining about a lady giving him a hard time about a return right after she left! I understand customers can be hard on employees sometimes but loudly talking rudely about her is so unprofessional. I just got really bad vibes from him to be honest. Just super childish behaviours and created a hostile atmosphere. Not shopping there anytime soon!

I can't buy at outlets unfortunately - I really have to take care of my feet. I've gone to this shop for orthotics, to discuss shoes and sneakers, to shop for others and to partake in the customer day (where they had a New Balance rep in and they had a BBQ outside and draws). I have been to other similar shoe shops and have had great service and/or buys or experiences but Soles in Motion stands out to me. So if you need a team of experts to care for your feet from orthotics to advice to friendliness and attentiveness to social days, I would give you three options and tell you the benefits of each (or if you need to shop for best price), but I would send you here first. I would also mention to ask for: Scott, Tamara and Sandra. Those are just the names I know but I have talked to others who were also friendly and helpful.

I visited Soles in Motion in May, as directed by a staff member on a telephone call a few days…read moreprior, to resolve an issue of substandard footwear (sandals), purchased in June 2025 as a Christmas gift to myself. The soles split partly on one and totally across the diameter on the other after minimal use - walking around my residence in early spring to break them in for the summer. They had been unused to this point and stored in a closet. While waiting in line behind other customers, we began discussing why we were each bringing back items. The manager arrived and walked behind me barking "come here". I asked if she was speaking to me and she nodded yes. I asked if she could speak in a more courteous manner then the conversation declined due to her stressed, annoyed, waste of her time manner. After stating the circumstances above, she declined to consider any resolution or upgrade, stating "we don't carry that brand anymore" and they were worn, which I had just explained, as above. It should be noted that the manager also refused to identify herself other than as "the manager" when asked her name, but the company website identifies her as Niki Storms, Operations Manager. Immediately, she yelled "get out of my store" repeatedly, in an aggressive, loud tone, just inches from me, invading my personal space, walking me through the store, the double set of exterior doors and to the sidewalk. She continued screaming on the sidewalk outside not to talk to shoppers present outside. I asked her to call the police as she has no legal authority to continue screaming at and verbally harassing me outside. I had continued to attempt a conversation, as security cameras can verify, throughout this entire abusive process, but the manager was out of control. As a 75-year-old disabled senior with invisible injuries that leave me unable to quickly process information or walk quickly, I found this behavior unprofessional and totally lacking customer courtesy. I was publicly disgraced, embarrassed and verbally abused in front of customers both inside the store, in addition to outside the premises, while standing on the sidewalk, where prospective customers had to walk around her to get into the store while she yelled. A customer who left the store after this incident approached to tell me she didn't buy anything after seeing the manager's behaviour. I contacted the owners, Jen Estabrooks and Dr. Mark Fletcher ( https://www.ratemds.com/doctor-ratings/97394/Dr-Mark+Andrew-Fletcher-Dartmouth-NS.html/ ), about their manager's outrageous behaviour, but neither addressed their Operations Manager's actions. I once would have easily reviewed this company highly, as many others do, however; the only satisfaction this disabled senior will get is accountability for an abusive manager. The company and owners are responsible for her actions as well. In the meantime, I will take steps to expose what is considered acceptable behaviour by this company's owners and manager. My advice to health care workers who purchase products at Soles in Motion, remember, you give your career and sacrifice to help seniors, especially disabled seniors. Read my story and possibly consider choosing to purchase footwear and other products elsewhere.

If you are looking for that gift that has that little something extra to it, have a look around. First the store is wonderful to browse through, there were two gals working when I went in, one named Carrie and the other Kayla. Both very pleasant and professional. A nice hello to greet me and then let me have a look around. This shop is new and carries, purses, artwork, jewellery, speciality items, they pretty much have all the basis covered here. But as I said , these items are not your average. One of my favourite things that caught my eye were things fabulous creatures called Sweet & Sour Gargoyles, they are made in PEI, and are worth every penny. The average was about $100.00. The artists that make these have fantastic imaginations. I want one! This is a must have for me, it is on my list , a collapsible water bottle in lots of colours, made by Vapur. This is freezable, dishwasher safe (top rack),rolls up, stands up when full, has a place to write your name on it, this is such a great bottle, is any of my family is reading this, guess what, you are getting one as a gift. These are only $11.99, a great deal. They also have in the back of the store a nice selection of baby gifts. There is a great item there, they are bears that you insert the hot water battle or cold. This store has lots of options for you to choose from. Kayla told me that they try to support the Canadian artists as much as possible. Most of the products they seek out are Canadian made. This alone is a reason to go to the shop and support it. I want to thank Carrie and Kayla for allowing me to take a few pictures, they were great and know their product lines. :)
