Let me also say that I had never met her before. I was in town for one day and the stars aligned for us to meet. I needed my hair blown out and she just happened to have an opening when I needed it. When I arrived, Annie was incredibly gracious and friendly and took me back immediately. Even though I arrived 10 minutes early! The treatment itself was heavenly and it was clear that she really knows her stuff. She explained to me in great detail how to treat my type of hair (Wavy 2A) and what products I would benefit the most from using. All in all, I couldn't have been more impressed with my experience at Hairscape. Annie's experience, professionalism, and business skills are far beyond what I was expecting and I can't recommend her enough if you're looking for that person who treats you more than just another client. Sometimes you meet someone that feels so familiar even though you've never met before and this was one of those times for me. I anticipate being back in town fairly regularly and I will always make time to come in for a service. If I could give Annie and her staff more than 5 stars, I would. When she suggested a bob, I was a bit apprehensive about a bob on a 67 year old Asian women but when she was done, my mom looked like she was 57! When I came in, the stylist named Liz was the one who did my hair. Apart from her giving me the cold shoulder the entire appointment, when I asked if I could have beach waves after my wash, she perseverated if it was for a special event. Not sure what answer she was looking for but I told her I was going out to dinner with a friend later during the day, so no - it's not a special event. After a couple more minutes of uncomfortable silence, I told her to just leave my hair straight. Her mood instantly changed and she started smiling and making small talk about the weather. By the end of my appointment, I paid, left a tip (which I instantly regret) and stepped out of the salon feeling very dissatisfied. On top of receiving poor customer service, the blow dry I received was definitely NOT worth what I paid for. I love trying new places and supporting local businesses - but this is a salon I would not recommend or return to.
