We were under Kate's (owner) teaching for almost a…read moreyear, I felt like she did a great job teaching and was safe, but the last couple months have been filled with last min cancellations on her end - literally an hour or two before the lesson would begin, I would get a text and then when it came to rescheduling, I wouldn't get a response and we would have to discuss it at the next lesson; she wouldn't say this, I would just have to bring it up. A couple of weeks ago, she claimed she was in over her head with OTHER responsibilities and would have to move lesson days. After I wanted more clarification and to find out what's actually going on, I wouldn't hear anything; no answer of my calls, no text back and no call back. Even when we wanted to discuss it in person she deliberately avoided us. After continually reaching out, she decided to send me an email late at night claiming she's dropping us. The way it was worded was quite rude and no apology on her end of the no communication. It's unfortunate because her teaching was great and my daughter loved the place and now is very upset. But coming from a business owner myself, it was extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate and could've been dealt with WAY better and differently. Sad we wasted almost a year here, but guess it's good to see the true colors of Kate and take our energy and money to a better place.

We are jumping about 3ft, and I love him more than the world. Maya is one of the most compassionate trainers there is. She is firm, and moves her students along, but knows when they need reassurance. She not only would do anything to protect the safety of her horses, but also watches over all the horses at the Charlottewood barn. There is no possible way Teddi and I would be such a successful team without her. She is a hardworking, and inspirational coach who will try her hardest to make you the best rider you can be. She is extremely experienced, and deals with all types of riders very well. There is VERY RARELY a person she does not get along with. Maya is extremely polite, sweet, and sensitive to riders, as well as their ideas, questions, thoughts, and concerns. When I very first got Teddi, almost a year ago, I could hardly canter around the arena with him. He is a very large, and powerful thoroughbred. I would ride him in a gag, and still have trouble working with him. Within a month I was jumping him. Within 3 months I was riding him with a softer bit. Today, I jump and ride Teddi on trails bareback. We ride in a hackamore now (a bitless bridle). I have a much stronger connection with him, as well as he does with me. None of this would be possible without Maya. She has led me to achieve all these goals. I'm so happy to have her as a trainer, friend, and role model. I couldn't be more blessed to have her in my life. Maya, thank you for helping me find my best friend, Teddi :) and thank you for being an outstanding, and understanding trainer.

Over the 3 months I rode in Maya Huberman's program there were 3 occasions when I arrived to find…read moremy assigned mount unfit to ride. Twice the horse (Griffin, white gelding) was obviously lame and I reported it as such, but it took days before Maya admitted there was an issue with the horse and rested/treated it for a suspected hoof abscess. The final episode was July 4, 2013 when I arrived to find the horse with a raw sore on his head (bite from another horse) right where the leather headstall would rub. Much to my dismay Maya said it was fine and that she'd been using the horse (Ashton) in lessons with no problems for 2 days already. To me it looked quite raw and painful, so I declined to ride the horse in that condition despite pressure from Maya. Finding myself arguing with Maya for a second time about the welfare of her horses was extremely upsetting. At this point I no longer want to do business with Maya or ride in her program, but I do want a refund of the July lease money I paid to her since no riding took place in July. Maya refuses to provide any sort of refund and no signed contract exists, so unfortunately I don't have much hope of ever seeing my money again. The last time I saw the horse (Ashton, palomino Haflinger gelding) was on July 4, 2013. The sore was beneath his left eye and was bad enough that I'm sure it will be visible for a long time. Decide for yourself if you think it hurt. UPDATE: After seeing that family wrote such nice reviews in response to mine, I thought I'd add to my feedback to say that Maya is a good instructor for beginners & children who won't question why a horse is limping or if something Maya does is right or wrong. That is why all of her students are children and beginners. Additionally, although my complaint isn't about her abilities as a riding instructor, I do question what Maya's credentials actually are since she refers to BHS training in her online bio and on her web site but does not mention a specific university or actually receiving a degree.

The teachers are exceptional--patient, nurturing, and genuinely invested in each child's development. Both of our kids have gone through their entire pre-schooling at Little Explorers School! You could see the gift he has working with kids in that interaction. And 6 years later our daughter is in her last year of preschool there. Mr Jared and the energy he has for kids never changes day in and day out. He truly loves what he does. Ms Sara is another reason why our daughter loves going to preschool each day. Navi treated my grandmother like she was her own mother and the rest of my family like we were family. She goes above and beyond for her clients to feel special and taken care of. My grandmother was in the hospital for 10 out of 11 days of the last days of her life, and Navi spent countless hours with her. She kept us updated because I live 5 hours away. Navi always made sure grandma had the best life she possibly could, even though she was bedridden. I used to feel like a wreck every time I visited my grandmother when she lived in a rehab facility, but after she moved to Navi's adult family home I never left feeling anything but happy. What a blessing Navi has been to me and my family, and especially to my grandmother in her last seven months of life.

When my daughter and I come for lessons often Craig Stevens or Mary Anne Campbell will be working with students from other countries who've come all the way here to work with them. Even though they are riding at very high levels, my daughter and I never feel lower in anyone's eyes because we're beginners. As a teacher, Mary Anne is encouraging and supportive, demanding without ever demeaning. Craig is just brilliant, and what he knows about horses can keep you really truly progressing for decades- many of his students have been working with him for twenty years or more, and they ride beautifully and they still keep learning! I find that exciting. As a boarding and training facility, my horse is progressing calmly and more fun to ride each visit, and he's healthy and well cared for. I especially appreciate that safety is always first; the teachers ensure we understand how to be safe - and keep our horses safe - whenever and wherever we are in the barn: grooming, riding, or horse-in-hand. The horses are very well maintained both exercise wise and health wise. Laina and her amazing team helped and help to this day to improve my riding, keep my horses as happy as they can be and grow to be a better owner and rider. I have made many friends in this program, and they have helped to shape me into the rider and person I am today. When I came to Bayview, I was eager to start showjumping instead of hunter/equitation, and I was able to learn a very strong foundation of showjumping within my first year.
