I found Mike Karney and his business here on yelp. With the numerous perfect 5 reviews he had gotten I felt confident to hire him. Mike and his team did a fantastic job. We had a challenging job including a neighbor's oak tree canopy over our pool screen. The encroaching tree came down with no damage to the pool screen enclosure. Mike walked the job with us after they were done to make sure it was to our satisfaction. From initial contact to the work being completed was 6 days. Prices were fair. I could not have been more impressed with their service, before during and after. We had a massive, I mean massive oak that needed to come down so he came out, explained the entire process and made an appointment. When the tree unexpectedly came down, he and his team raced out to take care of it. His communication and reassurances with my wife put us both at ease. In addition to the oak, which was fully removed and stump ground down, they took out three palms and trimmed two other large oaks. They left the area as clean as humanly possible with no ancillary cleanup on our part. Very highly recommended. read more

We have used Karney Tree Service for trimming and removal previously and we would not have trusted anyone else for removal of the Beast of a tree in our backyard that had to go. This Japanese Maple was humongous with shallow roots and the previous owners planted it within inches of a building structure, plus it had electric wires running straight through its canopy. Needed a quick job done before a tropical storm. These guys were prompt and professional. They offered to come same day but it was storming so we decided on the next morning. They are well educated about trees. We talked about which limbs were higher risk for falling and settled on a good price to based on the work done. They cut all high risk limbs and kept the tree looking very good. Still have the same overall canopy and shade levels in the yard. Far exceeded my expectations of how the tree would look. I loved the service and the communication was spot on. They were also able to come down on the price a little bit. Very friendly and respectable people. I would have given them a 5 star review if it wasn't for the following: They called me to let me know that an irrigation pipe was broken in the process of stump grinding one of the two trees they removed. They did not offer to repair the damage. They left it up to us to do the repairs, which I though was strange but didn't argue. After I got off work late that night, I had to spend the evening going to Lowes buying parts and tools to repair the pipe before the next summer rain storm comes through and covers up the hole that was left with the pipe exposed. After two Lowes trips, we finally got the pipe fixed after 9pm. We turned the sprinklers on for a test only to find out that a sprinkler head had been run over and was broken. Fresh tire marks could be seen where their equipment had traveled. All in all, I would hire them again, but would make sure they take responsibility for anything they break. read more

Competitive prices, fastest turn around time to get work completed even in busy season, and he cleans up debris! Mike's crew did a much better job at trimming our palm trees than the guy we hired a year ago. They actually look nice. We have a large oak close to our house that we need to keep off our roof.
