had a botched ovarian cyst surgery (i have scar tissue from where i was born with hydrocephalus &…read morehad to have a VP shunt put in since birth) had a shunt revision in 1992 when i was 8, so i accumulated alot of scar tissue in my abdomen area, so my original surgery date was jan. 13, 2022, and it got moved cause elkinson had gotten the corona virus, then it was moved to january 26, 2022, she assured me & my mom that everything would be ok, and i didnt know what happened, i woke up 4 hours later, with my intestine area medically stapled, then elkinson said she ran into some problems with my body (basically she was plowing through my intestines puncturing holes in them, and she drained the ovarian cysts, but left the sacs in me) i ended up having sepsis, was in the hospital for a week, went to elkinson on a follow up, and when me and my mom were in the examination room, i was laying on the examination table, elkinson was taking out the staples, and a flood of pus & blood basically was gushing out of me, had to be readmitted into the hospital, the doctor that worked on sewing up the holes in my intestines, introduced me to the woundvac, and i had to go back and forth between elkinson (who really didnt help much with what i was going through) and the doctor dr mathis that put me on that woundvac ( she was the one i mainly had to go to to monitor and keep a eye on my healing) and it took me about 4 months to heal up from that, i was going back and forth between elkinson & mathis about 4 times a month, then elkinson blamed me for being too fat and having too much scar tissues of why what happened, happened. ill never go back to that woman ever again. she literally makes you feel like emotional shit about yourself.

Turns out they don't do anything on the male side so your chances will be slim. Just don't seem to have the expertise. Save yourself time, money, and frustration and go to the institute for reproductive health where they can do everything at once.

I saw her midwives in office and they made me feel cared and like they always had time for my questions- I never felt rushed during my prenatal appointments. I also never had to wait more than 30 minutes (waited almost an hour at my other OB). Second delivery with Dr Steele was another textbook awesome experience. her office is small, sometimes you'll wait on hold for a bit to get an appointment scheduled. i have had to call twice to get an answer to a question but they did get back to me and make it right. This is the only reason I didn't give a 5 star review. I would 100% recommend Dr Steele and her midwives for OB care.

Thankfully, I was able to find support through the Baptist Health Group. On this visit, I came to the building formerly known as Central Baptist Hospital. With the new index, the building is massive. However, with the Covid restrictions, all check-ins must be made in the center location. The waiting room was nice and socially distanced. My doctor was attentive, too.

She tried to push her agenda and did not respect my wishes of a natural birth. She was very pushy and did not give me options with my only option being to be induced. She talked about inducing me at 39 weeks with no reason for it at all. My baby was completely healthy but she pushed it because "she induces all her patients at 37 weeks" WHY? Each mom is a different person with a different case. There shouldn't be a default method for all mothers and babies. At 40 weeks she told me straight up that she "can't guarantee that my baby will be alive tomorrow". She told me this to scare my as a new mother. Other doctors who interacted with and checked me at that time said there were absolutely no risks. Our interaction seemed nothing less than human. I was just another transaction and a way too make an extra buck with induction. She was definitely not a pleasure to work with.
