Of course it's cheaper to get someone just to do ad-hoc arrangements for you and then DIY everything else, but I am SO GLAD I wasn't responsible for setting that up and collecting it all at the end of the evening. It would've made my wedding day 1,000 times more stressful. Milan Event handled transporting our flowers everywhere they needed to go during the day and then picked up the decor after the reception, and it was worth every penny. The arrangements themselves were GORGEOUS and included a more expensive variety of flower than I had anticipated, which was a nice surprise and rare for the wedding industry. When the Milan Event folks showed up the day-of to my bridal suite with the flowers, they were even more beautiful than had I imagined. In my delusional state, I did not physically do down to Key West until the day BEFORE the wedding. This was slightly psychotic, but to my surprise, Mama Flowers took care of me as a walk in and were able to fix all my crazy "but I want it this way" requests. They were great communicating over email for the months before hand, but were even better the day before when I actually showed up there unannounced in person. Dayna and JD were awesome! I barged in with orange ribbon and starfish from Shell World and they told me not to worry and that everything will be arranged by tomorrow, and it was! Flowers for my hair were magically delivered to the spa, flowers for the cake appeared as scheduled at the baker, invisible men showed up on the beach and set up the floral canopy along with all the other accents and then somehow moved it all to the reception area (I actually did not see these people, who they were and where they came from, I don't know, but they got the job done!) The flowers themselves were gorgeous! This was the biggest surprise, because planning from afar you don't actually get to see things in person till you get there. The finished products were so beautiful and fragrant, I couldn't have asked for more. These are professional people, who know what they're doing and who work well with all other businesses in town. Yes, as mentioned in a prior review, by a boy, they are pricy, but not nearly as much as others in town. And overall wedding flowers are ridiculously expensive, so I can't say their prices were unreasonable. I would say, if you are planning a destination wedding and are not able to be there in person to plan everything out, then go with Mama Flowers. I spoke with a lovely woman who was incredibly kind and helpful. She asked what I had in mind, and I told her I was looking for something elegant with white and purple flowers in a short vase. They absolutely overdelivered. The arrangement was beautiful, tasteful, and perfect for the occasion - and most importantly, the recipient was truly touched. Prices were very reasonable and Macs usually had the best prices after comparing other shops in the area. Lots of variety and fun things to find for gifting or yourself. Even if you do not need anything, the shop is still a fun place to look around and look at the sponge and nautical decor scattered throughout. Makes for some great (and free) photo ops. There is a cuban coffee hut onsite and you are a few steps away from a historic wharf, so well worth the stop.

Booking my date was very smooth about 6 months in advance and only required a small deposit of $250 after the first estimate was provided. During the months leading up to the wedding, communication was fabulous! Monika listened to my requests and painted a beautiful vision of what we wanted. On the day of the wedding, she and her team did not disappoint. The bouquet, boutonnières and corsages were delivered to our suite at the Lighthouse Court prior to the wedding by Monika herself, it was a nice surprise to meet her and added a personal touch. The ceremony decor included a cascading floral arrangement over the the arch, rose petals sprinkled along the aisle, vintage glass bottles with roses on each chair and decor for the welcome table. It was all beautifully done. Most notably, the flowers seemed so fresh and vibrant! Overall, the pricing was excellent for the quality. They even delivered a few flowers for free to Key West Cakes who made our wedding cake. I highly recommend if getting married in Key West to use Monika and the Duarte Floral Desig team.

I often take my questions to Richard, Rochelle, Luna, Lisa, and the others - often with pictures of a plant that's not doing so well at home - and they give me great advice about what it needs. It had a nicely tart flavor and a tall meringue topping that was light and delicious. That part was excellent. Unfortunately, the graham cracker crust was disappointing. I'm not sure what their recipe is, but it could definitely benefit from more butter. It literally disintegrated when we cut into it. For me, the crust is just as important as the filling, so that detracted from the overall experience. There was a lot to like about this pie, and I'm not sure if the crust issue is typical. For me, it brought the experience down to a solid four stars, when it could easily have been five. P.S. There are other Key lime pie spots in town with excellent crusts, though they don't offer the same lofty meringue topping.
