Located close to the city - everything "Brussels" related was just a few blocks away. All of the staff I interacted with were friendly and kind. The room itself was clean and bigger than expected. WiFi was great. Enjoyed the lounge that they had to offer as well. Would recommend.

It it reasonably priced with a very friendly staff. When you enter this hotel it feels like you are entering a high end club lounge (club music is always playing). It has a very laid back cool young energy vibe......although during the week they are bus loads of retirees visiting for a couple days. Their food is just as good as going to a restaurant downtown (well actually the steak and breakfast buffet was). It is a hip downtown spot so you will see people enjoying the lounge atmosphere but are probably not staying at the hotel. It sort of reminds me of a more reasonable version of the W. I had a great time there.

Then they charged me a no show fee cause I checked in late. Uhh, wow. The Internet was down again during my first night. I couldn't get my room cool enough at night and had to open my window. It was trade-off of sleeping in a cool room, but also smelling the occasional cigarette and hearing pedestrians. An employee let himself into my room one evening. He just swiped his badge, opened the door and started waking in. I told him to get the F out. " Oh I'm sorry, my mistake" Wow again. Why the heck was he entering if he wasn't sure if the room was occupied?! Knock, moron. He offered me a complimentary drink for the inconvenience of him walking in on me. No thanks. I'd simply rather have privacy. I'll never stay here again.

Nice, clean rooms, staff was polite and professional. You get a nice view of the Stella brewery right across the street. Also located very near AB-InBev headquarters. The hotel restaurant itself is also very nice. It's not big but has nice food, good service, and plenty of cold Stella.

A fairly small boutique hotel but you can see from the smart car welcome to the luscious breakfast it's well worth a visit! The bedrooms, although not massive, are certainly large enough and mine had a really comfortable double bed and was very clean with all the facilities anyone could need. Attached was a clean, well-appointed ensuite shower room with power shower. The receptionists were really friendly and welcoming both upon evening arrival and next morning, attending to breakfast as well. I felt truly spoiled - and will definitely return when business (or pleasure) brings me back to Belgium.

After my first couple of stays, they realized I was a regular and would leave me nice notes on Mechelen post cards. This hotel is clean and gorgeous. You will find peeves of art tucked away. Each time I stay, I discover something new! The first few times I had a basic room that was brilliant but later I started getting upgrades to more unique rooms. One room was a suite with a double sided fireplace. The beds were always comfortable and I enjoyed the modern aesthetic. The hotel restaurant is amazing. I have enjoyed many dinners here dining on the regional specialty, Michelin Chicken, but my favorite part of every dinner was their accompanying salad with cheese croquettes! However, I must say that while I would take the opportunity to dine elsewhere for dinner, I would never miss a breakfast there. Breakfast at the Mercure is epic! A buffet style with standard European fare: breads, meat and cheeses, fresh fruit, yogurt, muesli, smoked salmon and lox. However, they have a woman that would cook eggs to order and she was amazing! She would do omelets or however you wanted your eggs with sausage or bacon. Also included was a gorgeous coffee bar where you could make a latte, cappuccino, espresso or whatever coffee concoction you desire. Located in a nice area- a small river in front- across the bridge is a supermarket and there are nice restaurants and chocolate shops around. A short walk to the city square and several historical sites. Prices were standard and fare. I never felt gouged and enjoyed the simple elegance of the entire experience. I hope to make it back someday!

The neighborhood was central with plenty of shops, restaurants, parking, and groceries nearby.
