Booked this personal charter less than 24hrs advance notice. Geraldine (owner) was great to work with. She accommodated at 3 hr afternoon charter for us. Graham and Chris were excellent host while on catamaran. It was perfect weather for sailing, not so much for snorkeling but that was not a issue for us. Perhaps the Captain changed since the last reviews because our Captain was LAZY! He was disinterested and clearly, just doing the minimum required to get the boat from start to finish. We never went under sail...just took the boat out with engine and back with engine. The "reef" was merely vegetation on the bottom of the ocean and was under twenty feet of water so you could barely see it. Lunch was cheap pasta salad and sliced pineapple so eat beforehand. The two stars were for the sheer beauty of getting out on the sapphire blue water. read more

While visiting Rincon, Puerto Rico, I really wanted to do a Catamaran tour with snorkeling. We booked us and our friends to go. The next day our friends had come down with some food poisoning so they had to bail. The staff who met us at the Rincon Marina was very nice and waived the fee, but just a note, you will pay if they have a waiting list and you cancel. It was us, a husband and wife with their young son, and a couple with three boys who hit it hard the night before. They took us out to the catamaran (Katarina) that was in the bay area on a smaller boat, and got us situated. They serve you a drink immediately (water, pina coladas, or the local beer Medalla) and keep you served throughout the voyage (huge plus!). The boat is a good size, perfect for our little group on board. The boat's Captain and First Mate were absolutely great, and courteous. We leisurely sailed a distance from the coast line in hopes of potentially seeing whales, though early this time of year. We did happen upon a pod of dolphins that road with us for a while. Sitting on the catamaran netting leaning over the front of the boat, I could've touched them they were so close. It was epic. After a while we posted up to snorkel, and while no fault of the charter, there just isn't a whole lot to see, marine life/snorkeling-wise where we were at in my personal opinion. Maybe it changes throughout the year. I did see some parrot fish, and other colorful reef fish, but you have a swim a while to get to the area where there is more fish, and then I was worried of being pulled inshore. They supply you with great clean gear, though I had my own, and they also even had gear for the little guy who must've been 6'ish. The food on the boat was good. I recall a pasta salad, pineapples and something else; I just remember definitely eating it all and having seconds. You hang out on the boat for a little longer, and then head back in. It lasted about 3 hours, and was a great way to spend the early part of a day in Rincon. We had a little rain, but if you're really not into it, you can go under the deck. I think it was $55, but whatever the cost was around that was definitely worth the experience and drinks! read more

Captain Johnny and First Mate Graham were great. We had a great time despite below average weather. Johnny is a coast guard certified captain and the catamaran is in great shape. Everything was executed on time. They served rum punch and medalla beers, also soft drinks. Apps included homemade guacamole and hummus and a meat and cheese platter. Tasty but nothing filling if you're expecting anything heavy. I removed two stars because we originally booked the morning snorkel sail and were canceled on with less then 24 hours notice and pretty much had to do the sunset sail instead when we knew we were gonna get rained on because of the weeks afternoon shower forecast. It is not the customers fault that no one else booked a tour that the company offered. We paid and booked this months in advance and were canceled because they were gonna lose money by taking us. If you offer the date you should honor it or recycle the sunset people to the morning tour if the weather is gonna be better. Why recycle to a time with a worse forecast? We felt like this was handled very poorly. read more

Sailing the Katarina was a last minute sunset cruise that turned into a nice long excursion on the sea. An experienced commercial fishing Captain and crew were great and served a hummus that rocked that was made by Geraldine! The 2006 Katrina was smooth and solid. read more

I've been leading yoga retreats in Rincon for the past 4 years and have taken my group on Katarina's snorkeling trip for the past 3 retreats. Every single time we've had an absolute blast. The crew is professional, fun, friendly and never left our rum punch cups empty! The food is super fresh and healthy, and included fresh island fruits, a crisp veggie salad, and chicken and pasta salad. Geraldine (the chef and co-owner) even was so kind as to accommodate my vegan guests with her delicious cuisine. I think everyone's favorite part of the trip was floating in the sea on pool noodles while enjoying cocktails. Can't wait for our next excursion on this beautiful catamaran! read more

Words can not describe how amazing our trip with Graham and Phil were. Besides being such awesome, knowledgeable and overall great guys they just gave my family and myself an amazing trip we were visiting for my moms birthday. The boat ride was serene, the boat was beautiful, the music was wonderful and the food was amazing. Gabby does a great job on the food. Graham and Phil were wonderful hosts who indulged in my grandfathers stories of his past on fishing boats and then gleefully listened again as he repeated them 3 more times bc he is at that age where he forgets a lot. The snorkeling was beautiful the fish were so vibrant and colorful. They made sure we always had a drink in hand and were having a good time. It was a 9:30 am trip so we were a bit tired at first but the music set the mood. They made sure we were all safe and having fun. Will absolutely recommend them and will be using them again on our next return trip to Rincon. read more

I was so excited for this tour. The sailors took us to a location. One of us just learned how to swim, so they moved the boat to calmer waters for us. Then I swam out into the ocean, but unfortunately got very seasick so had to swim back and puke a little. They were so attentive and got me food and water. I really appreciated. Me and my 4 girlfriends went on a charter last March and it was awesome! First, I gave the owner (who I booked with over the phone) the address of where we were staying, and she was able to pick all 5 of us up in her van and take us to the boat. After the charter, she was also able to let us hang out at the beach for a little, then come back, get us, and drop us off at a restaurant she recommended. The whole sailing experience was amazing and relaxing. They provided rum punch, fruit, and pasta salad. My girls and I can drink, so we brought extra alcohol (the owner said no problem, bring anything you want) although we didn't need much extra, because the rum punch was on point. We were disappointed by the snorkeling aspect of the trip; unfortunately the reef/coral was mostly dead and we saw little fish. The water was beautiful and clear though, and the gave us noodles to float around on. Overall, we had an amazing time and would totally reccommend it for a nice, relaxing, day on the water. read more

Not worth it. Not sure if the captain is new to hosting guests on a boat, or if he's just dis-interested. Safety was poor, one of the passengers was struck by the aluminum boom when the boat turned a hard left, to which the captain responded "that's why they call it a boom"- his only comment. Kind of a bizarre thing to hear from a captain considering the passenger could've been severely injured. We were never even given a heads up on when the boom/sales were about to swing from one side of the boat to the other. Watch your head! A lot of loose ropes everywhere (around your feet), Dangerous. And lastly the "rum punch" is essentially a glass of fruit juice with a teaspoon of Bacardi, we saw it being made. read more

We have booked the snorkel trip for multiple years now and every time it gets better. The most recent trip we took the water was a bit rough, but we felt completely safe because of the high skill level the captain had! The trip is enjoyable for all ages. Beautiful blue warm water, floaties to swim with, and tasty snacks. The cold rum punch available hits the spot on a hot day! Went out on the morning sail/snorkel cruise. We had 5 young children with us and the crew, captain Tyler, and mate Collin couldn't have been anymore accommodating. It was such a friendly atmosphere. Met some new friends and snorkeled in crystal clear water. The lunch and cocktails were top notch, really enjoyed the potato salad, best ever.
