We loved this charming coffee house - it's down close to the water and was very busy! Lots of choices for treats, and all looked delicious. If I could, I'd have ordered on of each! We were waved in when they opened at 9 am. We both had eggs Benedict which was well prepared. The meal included hash browns and, amusingly to me, about 1.5 Tablespoons of canned fruit cocktail as a side. I had a ginger cookie which had excellent flavor but a very hard almost dog biscuit like texture. The rhubarb bar got a big thumbs up from the person who had it. Katarina's is located in "downtown Prescott" on King St., not far from the beach (in quotations because Prescott isn't all that big, having only 4-or 5,000 people, so "downtown" is smaller than I'm used to). When we walked in, we noticed a beautiful, big, 3-layer cake with a few people milling around it. Initially, I thought it was for the wedding happening at the town hall & library at that very moment, but the cake had a "K" on top instead of a married couple. It turns out that Katarina's is celebrating 2 years of business on June 4th. Way to go! The restaurant itself has a few tables with chairs out front, with an awning over them, to protect from the e weather. There was a chalkboard at the entrance, advertising their specials, indicating there was more inside, so we went in to take a look. Just to the right of the entrance, there's the cash and display counter, we'll protected against COVID with plexiglass, and the day's offerings on display: sandwiches, salads, and a variety of sweets. The clerk was friendly and patient as we placed our order (while distracted by that cake!!) to our left we're several inside tables with chairs, occupied by a couple of patrons, with plenty of space. This is a charming little Cafe with great bakery and icecream options. Their croissants are nice and flaky. They also have a sugar glaze. We tried the plain and almond croissants. The moose ears were sugar glazed cookies, little flaky, little hard. The tiramisu is creamy and light, very moist, and not overly sweet. This is a cash or debit card only place. Fantastic new eatery. Excellent food and coffees, owners wonderful. Only complaints are that salad portion is bit small for the price and on our last visit we were served on paper plates and cups despite eating in. Minor stuff, overall excellent food and worth a stop. read more

Always a delight for coffee or a light meal. Their sandwiches were a big hit at our granddaughter's first birthday party.

Me and my wife were driving back to Montreal and looking to find a stop for some ice cream. We saw the ice cream sign and to our delight we ended up having a latte coffee, hot chocolate and 2 desserts. The service, the drinks, the desserts, and the location, were just wonderfull. I am making it my travel stop for the next time we are on highway 401. read more

I have visited for ice cream cones (traditional scoop style) on the shaded patio and for coffee and awesome almond croissants (home baked) inside in the quiet, airy bistro style surroundings. This new little place is a fantastic addition to the scenic Thousand Islands corridor. Katarina's offers a very nice selection of sandwiches, snacks and desserts not to mention very friendly service.
