Musicians play in a big, comfortable space decorated with very interesting art, antiques and seemingly random objects that make you smile. You can read, write, work on your own crafting projects or simply watch the musicians. There are tables and chairs by the big windows where you can spread out, and comfortable seats facing the musicians. There were delicious scones (sweet or savory), fresh coffee drinks and a self-service tea station. You can drop in at any time, and payment is all on the honor/donation system, with no concrete pricing posted. It's a surreal space where you can really relax and get creative! The Los Angeles based band has been together for almost two decades now, and it showed in their performance as they smoothly moved from urban latino - to hip hop, to cumbia, salsa and funk. This was an awe inspiring show, for both performers and the audience, as many have been, that I have seen at this venue in recent years. Playing at the Van Duzer theater, artists, musicians and performers all seem to thrive in this special and magical venue. It truly does bring out the best in those who play this stage. The audiences are some of the best in the world, and if you go to a show at this venue, you will find and see that those who do attend are there because they love the music and the artist performing. This in turn translates to the musicians and performers and as such the shows here are always spectacular and amazing in their own right. It does not get any better than this for live music. The sink was nearly overflowing and paper towels were haphazardly sitting on the edge of the counter instead of the dispenser. Pretty sure I dried our hands on dirty towels. I didn't bother to really complain, the staff seemed oblivious to any needs or cared to inquire when I declined a box (while stating the salad was horrible). Plus I wasn't interested in waiting for a remake, whatsoever. I couldn't wait to get out of there for my own sanity; and my kids did remarkable considering the very loud environment and long wait. He was cooking and taking orders and delivering food to tables. Needless to say he was extremely busy, especially with the event happening at the moment he said they're completely out of french fries because he had to go back and cut more potatoes. All I heard is that fries are made from potatoes in house. They were also out of onion rings for the same reason so we ordered two orders of tots and three dogs Chicago dogs that is it wasn't cheap food but it sure was delicious. We even treated to a order of fries on the house since he got some more prepared like I was super friendly. In fact, we ran into him the next day at another establishment and he remembered us. Love the small town feel love the college feel loved the food loved everything about this place. Looking forward to visiting on a day that it's less crowded in town.
