My partner and I are SO HAPPY that we decided to hire Gala Events for our day of coordination. Alegria was such a blessing in our experience. I am getting teary even as I write this, thinking of her support. We are a queer couple who's wedding was postponed 2 years in a row due to the pandemic and a medical emergency in the family. We also had to change venues and caterer during all of the challenges. The path to our wedding day was not simple or easy, but Alegria's support and expertise made it all manageable. She was immediately responsive and loving about our concerns related to potential homophobia we might experience through our process. We never once felt othered or treated differently as a queer couple, something we are sensitive to. My spouse is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, and Alegria was immediately honoring and respectful. All of this makes a big difference when you've experienced prior homophobia in the place where you grew up. And when medical emergencies and the pandemic kept throwing up big barriers, Alegria was the calm in the storm. She joined us in grounded decision making, was thoughtful and informed, and really demonstrated so much care during the hard parts. When we had challenges with our past vendors that we ended up not working with, she had such helpful advice. And on our actual wedding day, which was so beautiful and perfect, Alegria joined us in our vision of a big community celebration. She and her staff were so so kind and thoughtful, so supportive. They made us feel special while reducing decision fatigue and stress. She worked with our vendors beautifully, and the day of we were able to truly relax and be present. I strongly do NOT recommend hiring Gala Events & Weddings for any sort of service. We hired 'Alegria' for our wedding and we chose the Full Service Premium Package which cost $5,000 + 12% production fees. I've never been so utterly disappointed and disrespected by a "professional" in my life. Alegria quit and walked off site the day before our wedding after we asked for an itemized invoice for the 12% production fees, which she refused to provide before the wedding. We believe we have the right to know what we're paying for. She also wanted to charge us 12% for our venue (our home) and flowers WE provided (my husband and I are professional flower farmers & florists). Alegria was extremely hard to work with. We constantly felt judged for our design ideas, music choices, and party favors. We also hired her to be our officiant but we quickly released her of those duties after she blew up on us during our ceremony meeting, which was about 2 weeks before our wedding so it was too last minute to fire and replace her. Overall, we had a terrible and exhausting experience working with Gala Events & Weddings and we felt generally unsupported throughout the process. Thankfully, our family and friends (plus our awesome vendors) came together to help us have an incredible and beautiful wedding day on our flower farm! For several months after our wedding, she repeatedly threatened to take us to small claims court if we didn't pay her 100% of the contract price, even though she quit the day before our wedding. It was an exhausting experience having to defend our position legally over and over when all we wanted to do was enjoy our lives as newlyweds, not relive the trauma she put us through and continued to put us through by taking legal action. Do not legally bind yourself to this person/company! Save yourself a headache and heartache and choose a different company to plan the most important day of your life! read more

Honestly all Matt and I knew as that we wanted to be married in the redwoods. But coming from New Orleans and trying to find a wedding location, housing, officiate and restaurant for our own personal ceremony was a daunting task. That is until we found Alegrita. She truly took the stress out of everything. She is so sweet, informative and knowledgeable. Every time we spoke with her she put us at ease immediately and took the stress out of getting married so we could focus on what's important... each other. She really created the exact wedding we always wanted but had no idea what we wanted in the first place. Not only did she find us the perfect housing for our wedding/honeymoon while we were in the redwoods but she also informed us of the ins and outs of the wedding process. She helped us choose our wedding photographer, which by the way was fantastic, and also our wedding location. The fact that Alegrita scouted out wedding spots for us prior to us arriving so we could choose when we got there was fantastic. Now keep in mind that we didn't go see all of them as we fell in love with the very first spot she showed us. It just shows how well she listens to what you want and then turns it into reality. I will tell you one thing about Alegrita Sita; she is one of a kind. When Matt and I renew our vows our first call will be to Alegrita. And watch out California.
