RUN from this place! June 2021 I made an appt bc my foot hurt and I was worried something was wrong. They were nice and had an open schedule so they got me in. At the appt I met with Dr. Annalisa who was polite and professional and talked to me for about 10 mins and then took an x-ray at her office. She called a couple days later and said my foot was fine and to not worry about it, just keep going about my life. I was relieved, so I did. It wasn't until late July 21 that I was worried I never got follow up paperwork or any documentation on scan etc, so I called the office to tell them. I even asked if it was correct I never got an insurance statement. They said the acct was all settled up and no paperwork was due so I thought that was how they do business and that was that. Fast fwd to December when a very agressive lady called me and started making demands. She said she was w/Olympic Foot and Ankle and wondered why I hadn't paid my bill? I told her the story about never getting anything to which she cut me off and said they had mailed a lot of letters. It was odd because I had not moved and received no letters. She then started rattling off charges like a "new patient fee." I told her that was likely a misunderstanding because I wasn't becoming a patient, I just came in for a scan. She was aggressive and said if I was new I had to pay $235! While I pushed back that was a lot, I asked if she could get the Dr (who was nice as I remembered) to call and we could discuss? I explained it was likely a mix up and I'd be happy to work it out. She said I also had to pay $55 for the scan. I said, OK can I pay for that and wait for the Dr to call back about new patient, and asked if that was ok. She started raising her voice and getting mean, I tried to stop her but she wouldn't and said if I didn't pay the $235 she would send me to collections! I couldn't handle it, I hung up. Link below is half the video, the first half is her saying she's personally sending me to collections, the second half is her saying I'm stupid and don't know what a city/state is and talking about things she knows nothing about regarding my formal education - she tells me 'I should go back to college because I don't sound that bright on the phone" while she works as a receptionist at a foot doctors office. Also, they did send me to collections and I explained to the collections agency my situation. They called the office and also tried to reach a more senior person to get to the bottom of it and come to a resolve. They called w/the msg that the patient wanted to pay for the scan and wanted to plead my case. They also couldn't get anywhere with the staff. The collections agency noticed the office LIED on the paperwork about the service date being June of 2023, which this was 2021. Since they did so the collection agency fired them - they told me it was resolved for them and I''d be removed from their system! Takes the time for the patient to reflect back to be sure the explanations are well understood. I've been an intermittent patient over the years and the care has been outstanding and complete. Her approach is to be very patient. She offers a conservative approach in allowing the body to heal itself. Her medical assistant Karen is simply amazing. Dr.Le has been my dads podiatrist for about 11 years now and there has not been a day that my dad came home unhappy with the care he is receiving! My dad has trusted and still trusts Dr.Le with his care for all these years! Anytime he has a concern and fear with his feet due to diabetes Dr.Le is always there for him to calm down his fears and make sure his needs are met. He always provides the best care for my dad's wounds. Last year my dad got a wound infection on his toes that spread quickly to his bones and as soon as Dr.Le was notified about this he quickly approached my dad with a care plan to stop the infection from spreading even more. He found ways to treat the infection in the bones to avoid amputation. My dad was hospitalized for this matter because he did not have blood flow down to the ankle and toes so Dr.Le found him a very well cardiovascular doctor who performed a bypass surgery to get the blood flow going better so that the iv antibiotics can work for the infection in the bone. My dad was really worried that he was going to lose half his foot but Dr.Le told him he was going to do everything possible to save his foot and indeed with the best care plan he was able to save my dad from a severe amputation. Words can't describe how thankful my dad and my family are to him. He is very sincere, patient and close to his patients and always goes above and beyond to find ways to find the best care plan for his patients. He is a very professional, wise, and knowledgeable Doctor. He will always go over the care plan and make sure that you are receiving the care you deserve. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs a podiatrist.

If I could give the office a zero review, I would!…read more I took a bad fall down the stairs on late evening, Friday, August 13th, at our Pollock Pines cabin. I traveled to Sacramento the next day on Saturday the 14th, to get X-rays at Med 7 urgent care. Unfortunately, they were SO full they recommended an appointment with them on Monday, August 16. During my UR apt on the 16th, the urgent care PA told me both my ankles were sprained, but not broken, and that I only had a broken metatarsal, which I found out later was not true. Unfortunately, the Xray report posted 2 weeks later on my medical app (why didn't they hand me the report along with the Xray CD at urgent care?). The X-ray Report stated my right ankle is also broken! I had no idea until two weeks later! Anyway, on Aug 16, urgent care recommended I see my GP for a referral to a surgeon in the event I may need surgery. I went in on August 20th to see my GP, Dr. Sokolov. PA asked me for the x-ray report which I didn't have, and referred me to Dr. Phong Let's (podiatrist) office via a fax marked URGENT on August 20th, for a broken right ankle and a broken right 2nd metatarsal (and two sprained ankles to boot). I couldn't walk at all. The Pain was unbearable. A week later, (I was very patient) I still had not heard back from Dr. Phong's office, despite the fact that I had called them twice and let them know that my GP sent an urgent fax. Both times, Dr. Phong's staff told me they would speak to the medical coordinator and put me on the list ASAP. But, here I am 10 days later and I still have not heard back from them. At this point, today on Aug 30th, I have asked my GP to refer me to a different foot specialist because doctor Phong's office is obviously way too busy and disorganized to place me on their so called "list" despite the fax being marked Urgent ... In the meantime, because both my ankles are sprained and I have at least 2 broken foot bones, I'm still crawling on my knees, scooting on my butt, and using an old boot with crutches when the pain is bearable... It is outrageous that someone with a broken foot, in 2 places and 2 sprained ankles, can't get in to see a foot specialist after so much effort, phone calls and with a fax marked URGENT. It's been 10 days since the referral. All in all, it's been 23 days since I broke my foot... and I still I have not received any direction by any office as to whether I need a cast, wheelchair or surgery. I'm not impressed with HMO Covered California. And I'm angry, but most of all sad...very sad...That Dr. Phong's office has pretty much ignored my pleas for help...

I called at 8:30AM Monday morning to Dr. Kelso's office, and his nice receptionist mentioned they had a cancellation that day and they could get me in at 2. I arrived at his office which is located at UCDMC. THANK GOD his office was on the first floor - the only way it could've been closer to the main entrance is if it replaced the welcome desk or the snack shop. I got in about 15 minutes early and was asked to sign some forms, the receptionist took a copy of my health insurance, etc. After she processed my forms, I was led into one of the rooms shortly after and saw the doctor about 2:10. After twisting and turning and pushing my foot every which way multiple times without me feeling pain, Dr. Kelso couldn't immediately figure out my problem. He also took a couple of X-rays. My feet are flat but naturally have a low arch and it showed up, as well as extra bone in both my feet. Although I mentioned that (1) it hurt more in shoes and (2) even while walking barefoot I would feel a strain of some muscle/tendon, he couldn't figure it out as apparently there is a bone/nerve/tendon/muscle around that area in the bottom of my foot, and considering his prodding wasn't inciting any pain, he concluded it was bruise of the bone/muscle area. Although I asked if I needed a short walking boot (had one in my car..yes my feet are gimpy!) he said it was not necessary. Since I was leaving in a few weeks, he proceeded to fit me with some over-the-counter orthotics (the black Superfeet premium, which I had to pay out-of-pocket immediately for $45 - not a bad price, it is about $40 online). The Superfeet really were perfect sized for my feet. He modified my shoe and the orthotics and gave me some direction on how to best protect my extra bone on my navicular. I asked for some exercises to help me strengthen that area but he said there is nothing I can do about the extra bone and did not recommend surgery. Dr. Kelso also recommended a couple other podiatrists who knew more about biomechanics in the Southern California (Newport/Long Beach) area.. Apparently they were from his class. I left with a goodie bag full of extra foam padding that he had used for my tennis shoes and for inserts into my shoes, a paper cutout for the foam padding. a catalogue and notes on where to buy recommended shoes, and the size of the Superfeet he had given me for future note. All in all, I really appreciated all the time he took in putting together the orthotics and customizing both the shoes and orthotics for my feet. If you are looking for exercises/biomechanical issues you may want to look elsewhere.
