Just had my consultation/first appt with Dr. Kornafel for infertility. I read the reviews, and was weary about our first interaction. I had a really great experience. Very friendly and spent about an hour with us going over our history and explaining the process to us. She is matter of fact, but I personally liked that as I want to be as straight to the point as possible (we live in San Dimas, so Glendale is a bit of a drive for us). Also, the office looked newly renovated, very welcoming and modern. We decided to continue the process with Dr. Kornafel, and we are excited to work with her! read more

First I just want say THANK YOU!!!!! I have been ill for over 4/6 months, seen many doctors and ER/Urgent Care visits with no answers in site. My male OBGYN just brushed it off as age and told me that by me asking for testing, I am wasting the HEALTH CARE DOLLAR.... You mean my HEALTH CARE DOLLAR that I pay $620.00 a month. I felt so dismissed and uncared for until I called THIS office to see if I could get some help. AND let me tell you, Kayleigh was a delight! She listened to all my needs and frustrations. Got me an appointment ASAP!!! Told me exactly what I needed to have all my labs and referral sent over. It was completed in 24 hours. I think this young woman is a TRUE GIFT in a world that just seems like most people are to busy to care..... NOW LET ME GET STARTED ON DR. KORNAFEL!!!!! WOW!!!!!! JUST WOW!!!!!! She listened, read all my labs and examined me thoroughly. Together we found where my pain was coming from and also did a complete ultra sound right there in the room and walking me through my female organs with details. While she wanted to talk to a colleague about my case to get another opinion and will call me to chat about things I can do to resolve my pain. She listened to everything I said and drew her own analogies to show understanding and compassion. I felt so cared for.... I wish i could leave less than one star... i was brushed aside, spoken to with incredible rudeness that unprofessional couldnt even begin to describe and the most dangerous of all- misdiagnosed and put on needless meds for months. If i hadn't been so diligent and continued to advocate for myself and found an incredible doctor who in our first visit found the culprit to my months long fight and later went on to have a successful outpatient surgery, who knows where i would be if i was still in the care of dr kornafel. A few emergency room visits and months of pain and distress could have been spared. Along with the most traumatic thing any human, nonetheless medical care provider, has ever said to me in my life. More specifically- really outdated equipment, incredibly poor bedside manner, extremely inefficient office staff. Very strange experience. I needed to get my nexplanon removed after moving from out of state so I booked on ZocDoc. I saw mixed reviews, but decided to go in anyways. I sat in the waiting room for about 30 minutes, and heard the doctor berating her staff from behind the glass window. She comes into my room, finds out I'm from Texas and then starts making comments about how we have no rights there (re: Roe v Wade). I'm a liberal person, but I love my home state so I was a little annoyed, as she has no idea what it's like to be a woman in Texas. She made another weird comment about me being thin, saying that this procedure was harder on overweight people. My nexplanon removal was fine, I got dizzy and she did help me with water and smacking (yes smacking) a cold paper towel on my face. She was also in a rush to go discharge a post op Patient (among many other patient stories she told me, unprompted). She was nice enough, but the bedside manner was pretty inappropriate and just weird. read more

I was a patient of this office for my first few years in Los Angeles before finally finding a new doctor. I found Dr. Kornafel to be cold, rude, and not a good listener. She also made unprompted politically incorrect jokes and comments which I found to be highly unprofessional. The front desk never answered the phone--you leave a message which may not be answered for at least a day, if not days later. This was especially frustrating when they improperly filled out my prescription and CVS was trying to get in touch with them for the information so they could fill it. On multiple occasions I had an appointment and waited 90 minutes or more to be seen, even though the dingy, sad-looking waiting room didn't suggest they were busy at all. I highly recommend choosing a different OBGYN's office. The final straw, when I finally found a new doctor, Dr. Kornafel's office charged me in order to transfer my medical records to the new office, which my new doctor called "a mess" filled with "doodles that didn't make sense" and they were unable to use. There's nothing positive I can recommend about this doctor or her office. read more

I love this doctor. She is blunt, expresses her viewpoint, genuinely gets to know me, and is willing to work out whatever pace I want to work at. She will not be everyone's cup of tea because she is wont to go on rants about rats or politics, but I absolutely love it. Going into her office is always fun and I feel comfortable there. read more

I have mixed feeling about this doctor. I just finished my consultation with her. The office staff were friendly and helpful. And Dr. Kathleen does a great job at education and covering the topics. She's very knowledgeable about her field. However, I do have to say she isnt the nicest and like the other reviewers have mentioned she has a condescending tone and seemed short tempered. Her office is dated and her paperwork system/ documentation is a joke as well. Everything is hand written and her email address is written on a piece of paper so you have to either write it down or take a photo of it. Even her education sheets, she was writing as we were talking. I've only gone to her once but I left feeling belittled. Not completely sure if I'll go back to her to be honest. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Kornafel for several years now and her and her office staff have always been the upmost respectful and helpful. Just recently I talked to Tracy and Patty (shoutout!) and I was beyond grateful for their help. Patty did such an amazing job walking me through all the questions i had and more. Dr. Kornafel is always straight and thorough with her explanations and provides essential education during her consultations so, I never leave her office confused or without answers. I don't know why I even read yelp reviews anymore.... I went in thinking this lady was going to be mean to me. Not even a little bit. She was nice, she was knowledgeable. She made me feel better about a polyp, she was supportive and didn't dismiss my questions. Her office staff was efficient and sweet (This was the adventist office on glendale, though). I was out within an hour and half-start to finish. I'm assuming since she answered all of my questions that she does that with her other patients- people if you want a doctor who will take her time with you, you WILL have to wait longer while she takes her time with them. I do not recommend if you think straightforward equals rude. Also I do not recommend if you are sensitive about being corrected. Basically if you ever lived in Chicago or New York you'll do fine with her. read more

For the reviewers that gave this doctor 1 star - keep in mind that treatment is way more important than how you felt or how easily you get insulted and if you waited in the office or how a physician scolded you for being an antivaxxer. Someone can be super nice to you and not diagnose or treat you properly and then you're scre*ed. That said, I had a great visit with Dr Kornafel. She's very knowledgable and good at her job which is the MOST IMPORTANT PART ABOUT BEING A DOCTOR. She's direct so if you have a super thin skin, go to a doctor that will spend all of their time showering you with compliments. I've been to this office a few times, did not have to wait more than 5 or 10 mins. Will start my freezing process with Dr Kornafel and I'm super excited about it. This is also AdventistHealth hospital system so Dr Kornafel's office is not her private practice, it's part of the hospitals and it looks just fine. read more

I would highly recommend going to Dr. Kornafel. I have been coming to her for over 3 years now. I will hate the day I change my insurance and won't be able to see her. I feel and know she is so knowledgeable. She understands the woman's body. She has so much knowledge she wants to share with you and tries to inform you. Don't be afraid to ask questions. She tries to connect with you to make you feel comfortable. She makes notes of things that we talked about two years ago. I never had a doctor reference any prior conversation I have even had with them... let alone two years. She makes you feel so comfortable.. she tries to have a conversation with you so she can put you at ease.. I mean come on girls we are naked and someone else other then your partner is getting close and personal with us. I don't know about you but I hate when my doctor is awkwardly silent. I had recommended her to my friends. If I didn't trust her or felt like she wasn't a excellent doctor I would stop seeing her and not recommend my friends to her. I like when people are straight forward especially doctors.. especially when they need to be. I want to know if there is a problem or not. Like every doctor the want you to be healthy and always look to the future. She does want you to keep in mind your future plans.. she is a fertility doctor so she understands how hard it can be as you get older to have children.. she is not pushy about this subject just informative. Dr. Kornafel is so knowledgeable and exceptional at her job, doesn't give you lip service by sugar coating but tells you the facts each and every time, and always answers my questions without rushing me out. I trust her 100% and feel confident and safe in her care. Her medical assistant, Kimmy, is also deserving of high praise. She's knowledgeable, welcoming, and on top of every interaction both in person and via email or phone. I am so impressed with them both and feel like an actual person in their care, vs just a number. Truly a weird experience from the start. The waiting room furniture was dirty and a hundred years old. I have added photos that speak for themselves. I came to this doctor with a problem which she has totally ignored. She said that a reason for my problem could be a cyct but there is no way for her to check if I have it. The whole appointment was a five- ten minute conversation in which she sketched a image of a vagina and send me home. She of course billed me for this service. Shocking and weird. I never leave bad reviews but If I could give zero stars I would. I have NEVER had a good experience in this office or with Kathleen Kornafel who is rude, mean and will make comments that are completely inappropriate and uncomfortable. This comes from multiple visits to her office that have all been beyond horrible and get worse with every visit. First of all it is NOT COVID SAFE. They did not ask if I had any symptoms before coming into the office, and when I arrived they did not take my temperature or ask any questions about possible covid symptoms. They have no system set up to keep patients 6 feet apart in the office so people sat right next to me while I was waiting. On top of this I waited an hour and 45 mins for my appointment which meant I waited in the office with other patients who had not been vetted for covid symptoms. (every time I have been here I have waited at least an hour in the waiting room) Once I got called into the office I had to wait another 35-40 mins before Kathleen Kornafel came in. After waiting almost two hours she came in and said I was there because I requested a follow up test which was NOT the reason I was there. When I politely pointed out that I was there because she told me to come get a follow up, not because I requested one she RUDELY said "I was making a joke. I could say the sky was blue it doesn't matter my mouth is moving." and that is a direct quote. In what world would it be okay to make a patient wait two hours during a pandemic and then tell them the reason there in the office is totally different and than jump at them when they correct you? This is what pushed me over the edge. And this is not an isolated event. Because at my first appointment she made me stay an extra 30 minutes only to complain about her neighbors and recommend tv shows to me. For my second visit she refused to tell me my results unless I came into the office in the middle of a pandemic. And when I did go in to get my results, I was in her office and my foot was bouncing as many anxious people do while waiting for medical results and she told me that "She would throw up on me " unless I stopped bouncing my foot. Again a direct quote. I wouldn't recommend this office to my worst enemy let alone any person I care about. Truly the WORST experience with a physician I have ever had in my life. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. The worst experience ever, not only with obgyn but with doctors in general. I don't want to share what was my issue, but want to warn other ladies. Please look elsewhere. The doctor is very rude, inappropriate, shares a lot of stories from her other patients, threatens. I filled out transfer medical records form weeks ago, haven't been contacted by the office yet once. But they first need to collect payment, then there is another wait time to actually get the records. Kathleen L Kornafel (don't wan to call her doctor) made up diagnosis, was pushing unnecessary treatment and as a cherry on a cake - told me I would have a cancer. So ladies, please save money and time, try another office. I have already filled a complaint, and hope authorities will look into this practice. read more

Not a good fit for me. I prefer a warmer bedside manner. I also received some unwelcome feedback re: my pubic hair. Additionally, at this office it is standard procedure to give an ultra sound (extra $80, beyond my co-pay) during an annual. When I said, that I'd never heard of that before, she maintained it was particularly important for someone with my BMI. Fat people have to deal with a lot of bias at doctors' offices in general, but this was a new one for me. My previous gynecologist said that unless there are symptoms, this is not a common practice. read more

Dr. Kornafel is exceptional. She's very knowledgeable and very informative. Be prepared to wait but it's totally worth it.

First of all, If you have ANY sort of inclination that you might have endometriosis, find a different doctor. ASAP!! I initially came for birth control to help regulate my pelvic pain. However my pain continued to grow increasingly worse over time, so I pushed for more tests to be done. It was suggested that I may have endo and the only way to diagnose for sure is through surgery. Wanting desperately to feel better, I agreed. I was told the surgery I would cost around $300 out of pocket after insurance coverage, but it was actually closer to $1000. I understand things aren't set in stone, but those are things you kind of want to know beforehand. But the money is hardly the worst problem I had with this office. Before surgery, I had a few visits with Dr. Kornafel that did make me somewhat uncomfortable. Dr. Kornafel let me know that it wasn't smart to shave my genital region, because the hair can protect from STDs. After that, she mentioned that she was glad not to be a part of the pube-shaving generation, which seemed inappropriate and unnecessary. She also referenced another review on here regarding somebody else not taking well to her comments on pubic hair. Referencing another patient's experience is extremely unprofessional, and you would think she'd learn from her experience to keep her judgmental comments to a minimum. I had surgery and was told it went smoothly, that there were some endometriosis lesions found and they were removed by laser, but can grow back. I wasn't given much information about the disease and really was totally trusting Dr. Kornafel's opinion on everything. I returned to the office for my post-op appointment, was still experiencing some pain and felt extremely bloated. I was told recovery would only take a few days and was nervous that something wasn't right. During this visit, Dr. Kornafel dismissively referred to my long-term boyfriend as "your friend here," which may not seem particularly insulting, but after other derogatory comments regarding my age and life choices, it felt like I was being talked down to. Worst of all, when I asked about the bloating from surgery, Dr. Kornafel told me that "bloating isn't real" and that I had probably just gained weight from eating after my surgery. I am currently about 9 months post surgery, and my symptoms have gotten SIGNIFICANTLY worse since then. I felt absolutely no relief from surgery. I immediately started seeing a new doctor after my post op, and was first told that the birth control I had been prescribed by Dr. Kornafel was not recommended for women with endometriosis, as the hormone dosage can sometimes worsen symptoms. I have continued to do my own research (please check out the Facebook group Nancy's Nook Endometriosis Education) and have found that many, many GYNs are extremely misinformed on how to properly treat the disease. I am going to see a highly recommended doctor next month, and will probably have to have surgery again. I wish I had known what I know now before going through all of this with Dr. Kornafel. PS. Bloating is definitely real, and if you have endometriosis or any other pelvic related issues, you know this to be true as well. read more

Traumatic. She was inappropriate and mean. She asked me about my salary and when she was doing a breast exam she commented about my size calling me a Victoria Secret model. I know to some people that sounds like a compliment but it's something I'm really self conscious about. I asked her for a smaller size speculum and she said they don't have it. Every other gynecologist I have been to happily uses a smaller one. She was rough and to top it off, her office screwed up my insurance so I had to have numerous phone calls with claims to fix it. I was still left with a $300 bill because she (without my consent) sent stuff to the lab that was not covered by insurance. They have the best team of medical professionals at Dr. Kornafel's office. Pamela at the front desk is amazing and is always willing to help (above and beyond). Dr. Kornafel is wonderful to deal with. She is very informative and knows how to treat her patients with respect. My wife comes here for fertility treatments and every time she shares her positive experience with me. I've personally visited her office with my wife a half a dozen times with each visit more pleasant than the last. People like Dr. Kornafel and her incredible staff are not praised as much as they should be. People have the tendency to rant and rate 1 star for their 1 negative experience but could care less to share with the world on the majority of their visits that are positive. I was referred to Dr koranfel by Dr lantry. As I arravid her office was dull out dated and had a funny smell. Her office staff was extremely rude, I waitied over 30minutes. By the time I would get called in. Mind you I was the only person there. When I first saw Dr kornafel she was very rude And impatient with me and my husband. I was a cash patient willing to do any and everything, To have a baby. You think she would be a little nice knowing that this young couple is willing to pay cash to have a baby. I seen her a total of 5-6 times. And all I got from her was misdiagnosed and a terrible attitude from her and her staff. She straight out told me I was to fat to have a baby. Which hurt my feelings on top if how terrible u feel that I can't have children naturally. I'm a size 18 in case you was wondering. A lot of women have children my size without any problems. Mind you I was only 23 years old and my husband was 26. at the time She completely misdiagnosed me and told me if I ever have a child I would die or the child would die because I can not hold the pregnancy cause she tthought i have a unicornic uterus which is not the case. I told her that I wanted to do another test and I was willing to pay for it. But she told me no. Absolutely not it would be a waste of her time (can you believe that) I left her office in tears. After seeing her I was extremely depressed/ suicidle. I can not belive how hurtful a human being can be. She is a true doctor from hell. About 2 months later my friend told me to get a second opinion and see a different doctor. So I did and the other doctor told me. Dr kornafel is completely wrong! You CAN have a child with IUI or IVF TREATMENTS and that I do not have any problems with my uterus. and I am happy to say. I have a 3 year old healthy baby girl. That I was full term with my pregnancy. No thanks to her ...Dr kornefel should be ashamed of her self. And I should of straight out sued her. For misdiagnosed me the way that she did. Oh my god I love Kathleen Kornafel and I never thought I'd say those words about a Gynecologist ever. I learned about Dr. Kornafel via zocdoc, but was still unsure if I would have a good appointment since I've found other doctors through zocdoc and have been less than thrilled. Dr. Kornafel blew me away. (And I promise this is a legit review, this isn't some paid thing. I'm just gushing with happiness over here so let me have my moment.) So, some backstory, I had been to another Gynecologist out here in LA and I was told that I might have HPV, but he didn't give me any insight whatsoever to what that meant. He just said I might have HPV and that I would need to do some follow up tests in a few months. And that was it. I was horrified and felt like I was so stupid for having HPV. I felt like I was probably going to die, etc. etc. And I told this to Dr. Kornafel and she was SO WONDERFUL about explaining to me what the heck HPV is and what HPV means for me. She even brought out a book on it (which I've unfortunately forgot the name of) and drew me diagrams of how HPV effects the cervix & cells within you. Dr. Kornafel was so amazing during the exam, as well. She was great at making me feel at ease, making jokes and telling interesting stories. She explained clearly what she was doing and even showed me my eggs on that ultrasound machine. She was thorough with all of my options and made me feel like a person which is just so important when you're getting a gynecological exam! I think she definitely tells you how it is, but she tells you also all of your options and makes her points clear. (I'm saying this only because I see some other reviews on here that say she's blunt. But I think you have to be blunt when it comes to your vaginal health. Our society doesn't talk nearly enough about vaginal health, still, so Kathleen Kornafel is a breath of fresh air during these crazy times.) Any way, Kathleen is the best. And I definitely recommend her to all! P.S. I'm still looking at some of the negative reviews below and am so shocked. I came in on a Saturday so that probably helped with the wait time. I didn't wait longer than 30 minutes. She definitely fixed up the waiting room and it's so cute and retro now. Dr. Kornafel is a caring, extremely competent physician. After experiencing secondary infertility years ago, she helped us complete our family! I had already been to several other Dr's, but her insight into my particular situation led us to the best procedure during a time when success rates were much lower. She is still my gynecologist and expertly addresses any menopausal issues that come up. I highly recommend Dr. K for any infertility or gynecological issues! read more

Horrible woman. Condescending and rude. Snapped at me the first time I met her because I hadn't yet undressed (no one had told me to, it was my second PAP ever, I was nervous and unsure what to do). Then it got much worse as she proceeded to say some nasty racist comments about her daughter's Indian roommates, and then told me, "If I can feel your pubic hair through my glove, you need to shave. No man will ever go down on you." Was too shocked to tell her to go fuck herself. 0/5. Don't go here. read more

I saw many other commenting on issues with the office staff and just wanted to be clear: That definitely wasn't an issue for me -- the office staff were nothing but kind and courteous on the phone and in the office. My issues stem from interactions with Dr. Kornafel and her office policies in general. First, the one and only time I visited Dr. Kornafel was in late 2017 for an annual and to get a refill of my PPD medication, as I'd just relocated from the Bay Area. Wait time was minimal, got in quickly. During the visit, things went downhill quickly when Dr. Kornafel entered the room and asked what I'd put as my occupation on the intake sheet. Her: What does SAHM mean? Me: Oh, stay at home mom. Her: So when are you going to use your degree? Me, internally: WTAF... Forget about women supporting women, as an OBGYN, why would you hate on someone for choosing to stay at home with their kids??? She then asked what I did prior to staying at home with the kids. When I answered that I was in HR, she asked for advice on how to deal with an employee with body odor which also felt super inappropriate. At the time, I wasn't too bent out of shape, since I didn't need to see her again anytime soon. But now that I've decided to have another child, I'm definitely switching providers. Now onto the issue of the office practices...Since that I'm changing providers, I requested the release of my medical records. Paid the $25, fine, no biggie. When they emailed the records, they only sent the two pages from my visit in 2017, which didn't include the section of my record from my previous OB that I had paid to be forwarded to their office. When I asked to have the entire record, which includes information about my previous two childbirths, I was rebuffed and told "we can't give you those records since we can't confirm where they came from". (Again, they were forwarded directly from my previous OBGYN's practice.) When I called and say that's not legal per the state of California, which requires practitioners to provide a FULL medical record, even records from previous doctor's offices, I was told that their policy is only to provide records generated from Dr. Kornafel's office and that I agreed to the policy when I filled out the intake forms. They provided me with a copy of the form I signed, so yeah, it appears I did agree to that. So, fine. I'll pay an additional $25 to get the records from my old OB. But this policy is total BS and feels like they're just holding your records hostage to punish you for switching practices. read more

I don't make a lot of reviews on yelp, but I decided to come out of the shadows for this one because it was so frustrating. However, here's a small disclaimer before continuing with this review: my wife and I don't have any problems with Dr. Kournafel herself and in fact, she was really great. If you're willing to endure crappy customer service, go for it. Dr. Kournafel is great. BUT the staff at her office is terrible and for that I can't give her anything other than a 1 star review. Similar to the review from Dexie L., my wife and I have experienced the same kind of unprofessionalism from Dr. Kournafel's staff when making an appointment. No apologies, no nothing. Fine. I get it. You guys are busy and can't make the time to show some empathy to the people who are already crushed by the fact that they are trouble having a baby. Anyhoo, My wife and I get frustrated and look around for another Doctor but since we don't want to start all over again at square one, we put in a request for our medical documents so the new doctor doesn't have to order new labs or anything like that. They tell us that we have to make a written request along with a $10 fee which causes me to pause for a minute ($10 to copy some papers?) but okay, I guess you can't just give medical paperwork away willy nilly so fine. I have some time off from work one day, so I walk in my written request IN PERSON to Dr. Kournafel's office to make sure that they receive the proper documentation from us, but surprise, surprise, the fee is not $10 but $25. I begin to protest but I'm told that it was always $25. Again, no apologies from any of the staff. ($25 for a copy of my own documents... sigh...) I swallow that too, pay my $25 dollars and wait patiently. Fast forward to today, 20 days later, waiting, checking the mail every day for a fat envelope with our documents inside of them, but nothing. I decide to call them and guess what? They have not even copied the documents yet. In fact, the girl that I talked to tells me, "I can copy them now and you can pick them up... or do you want me to mail them?" At this point, I'm more than a little frustrated and when I ask them why they haven't even called me within the past 20 days, I receive a curt, "it's just an order thing" (her words verbatim). No apologies, no nothing. I'm too flabbergasted to even yell at her, and really, what would that accomplish? So I tell her with a sigh, "...mail them." My wife and I are sad enough that we're having trouble conceiving and having to deal with people that do not even have a shred of human decency to even apologize for mistakes is too much to deal with for us. I'm sure the other reviewers are telling the truth and they really truly have never had any issue with the office staff but at the very least, visit Dr. Kournafel with the knowledge that YMMV. Again, if you don't care about having to deal with a crappy office staff, Dr. Kournafel is great. But if you're emotionally drained with the infertility issue like my wife and I were and don't think you can deal with insensitive human beings, do not go here. It's not worth the emotional effort. TIP: Take names down when making appointments with this office. This review is not about Dr. Kornafel but about the office of which she is a part of. I was really looking forward to this visit because of the 5 star review from another yelper. Unfortunately, due to the disorganized staff, I was unable to meet with Dr. Kornafel. I scheduled this appointment 4-5 weeks in advance and received a reminder call a week before the appointment. I showed up 20 minutes early to fill out paperwork only to be told by the front office that they don't have me on the calendar and that the doctor is not in on that afternoon. That's it. No apologies, nothing. Yes, Dr. Kornafel may be a 5-star doctor, but since patients have more interaction with staff members (in my case, 100% of my experience has only been with her staff), half the score reflects the efficiency and ability of the staff. I suggest that Dr. Kornafel have a discussion with her staff about the basics of customer service. read more

Went once upon a friends recommendation - she also decided to talk to me about pubic hair which felt super inappropriate. She suggested I look into laser hair removal (because that's what she did?) and then put her hand on my pubic hair and said "because this is isn't sexy". Like I'm sorry, I don't think you get to tell me what is and isn't sexy - please leave that to me and my partner, thanks. In the moment I didn't say anything, but I often think about how I wished I had. Now looking at all these other similar reviews, I felt it was important to mention. Honestly, other than that I had a totally fine appointment - but I'm definitely still in the market for a different doctor who doesn't shame their patients on what they decide to do with their body hair. read more

I just called to make an appointment and her receptionist was very rude. I explained I have a history of breast cancer in my family and would like to be checked over, also because I'd like to have kids soon. The receptionist very impatiently informed me I did not have a good enough reason. It was her tone that was very unprofessional, I don't care how busy you are, if I want to get an additional pap just to make sure everything is fine, I should be able to do that. At the very least I should have been able to come in for a breast exam. This is whats wrong with the system preventative care is not important enough. I guess I'd have to be sick before it's a "good enough" reason. I'm sure another doctor will be happy to see me and do what I'm requesting. read more

Dr. Kornafel is great. I've been seeing her since Summer 2013. I find her very approachable and immensely tentative. I always provide a ton of specific information regarding my issues during my office visits, and she takes the time to write it all down. She goes over past notes in my record in every visit, and gives me a lot of space to ask questions and receive her feedback. She's honest and forthcoming about her methodology and her medicinal background, which I appreciate so much in relation to my experience with past Gynos. While she's kind, she also keeps it real. She's super frank, colloquial, and ultimately concerned for her patients. She provides tons of personal anecdotes and feedback based on her personal and professional experiences, which is something I've never experienced before with a Gyno (or any doctor, for that matter). While the office is totally no-frills, the service is great, and I totally trust her with my vagina. read more

If you want to go to a doctor that makes you feel insignificant and shames you for your life choices then this is the dr for you. I ran out of her office crying today after a visit with her. She refused to prescribe me birth control because she "did not want to get her ass sued" before conferring with colleagues. She commented that I was too old to not have a pap given my medical history and she went out of her way to shame and belittle me. Perhaps she's too jaded to consider the possibility that her patients have endured trauma and that she needs to develop a more palpable beside manner. By the way those "colleagues" she confers with are Dr. Chan and Dr. Friedman . She's so paranoid about getting sued which begs the question, why? I'm going back to the gynecologist I saw last year in Santa Monica who is an absolute gem (who did a full exam btw). She's very warm and kind and does not need to pressure her patients unlike Dr. Kornafel. Please consider the other reviews before visiting. Her ZocDoc reviews are inaccurate. read more

Dr. Kornafel is a very good physician. She is friendly and very, very honest with patients. She does not waste your time and gets to the point without sugarcoating. I spent months trying to get a diagnosis elsewhere, and she was able to identify the problem within the first and the second visit. One little flaw: sometimes you have to wait a bit. read more

Best doctor ever! I went through a hard time with my health and Dr Kornafel unlike other doctors I went to found the issue and resolution... basically saved my life. She tells the truth and will correct you to inform you of what information is right. I would rather have an up front doctor clarifying and educating me about my body then a doctor that leaves me misinformed. read more

Went there August 2022 worst office ever you can never get a hold of them. And the Doctor was not pleasant her self I have an Endometrioma ovarian cyst. Dr Kornafel said I pretty much just have bad luck. The worst thing a doctor can tell you. Then she wanted to do treatments which included for me to get some blood work done while I'm on my period to check out my hormone level. They never gave me the blood work paper work to get it done. I called the office multiple times. Spoke to the receptionist girls and gave them my email they still did not send me the Lab orders for Labcorp. Till this day I have not received anything at all. Don't go here and waste ur time. Oh but they were so quick to send me a bill. Yet no labs I shouldn't be checking on this office multiple times just for them to send me lab orders this is unavailable. Please don't go here ladies the Doctor makes you feel awful and is inconsiderate. What kind of doctor says you have bad luck. Unbelievable!!!!! Awful office. read more
