Back again... It's December 2022 now and I still stand by everything I've said before. Dr. Morgan is still my PCP and still great. She's in a different location now in Lakewood, CA near Downey and South St. The new office is nice, but parking isn't great. Also, this office isn't a "one stop shop" like the previous one. So if you need an x-ray, blood work, pharmacy, ekg, etc... you'll have to go to another location to get it. That doesn't effect my review though, as it's not a reflection of Dr. Morgan. I'll follow her to any location/practice. read more

I've been seeing Dr Kathleen emergency 2024 and she's a real nice doctor I like her she's polite sweet humble and I can tell if she likes what she does and she cares about her patients she's the sweetest doctor you ever know and I like her office this is nice and clean you don't have to wait all day for an appointment her reception is nice the nurse is a nice everyone's polite she's very polite and warm and she's honest and she makes you feel better and she don't pass judgment on you play some doctors does I really like her she's cool and I recommend anybody who's looking for a primary care doctor to see her because she's very cool! I only write reviews if I experience something so good or bad that I want everyone to know. Putting your health in Dr. Morgan's hands is dangerous. I would not recommend Dr. Morgan in the slightest. After two memorably negative encounters, I've decided this is a pattern and will be finding a new PCP. When coming in for an office visit, it's really not appropriate bedside manner to be reaching for a hug each time, nor does it inspire confidence to see notes haphazardly scribbled everywhere. I wouldn't normally judge the latter but it adds to her negligence. The first of two: I came in because I had gotten 3 repeat infections of whatever lung viral/bacteria illness I was dealing with in a matter of weeks. I was concerned because I was an otherwise healthy, active, young individual. Albeit, because of chronic asthma, I am prone to bronchitis and other lung complications. She did not even inquire about my symptoms before writing me off with "allergies" and Claritin. I expressed my concerns and she just kept saying she wouldn't worry, even though I had an uncontrollable fever among other sx. No tests, no examinations. I continued to suffer for a few more weeks after that pointless appointment. The last straw was after I'd come in for a minor concussion. Again, before welcoming disclosure about my own symptoms, Dr. Morgan took the floor announcing that she reviewed my chart (not sure what this was referring to as I'd only provided a brief description for "reason for appointment") & was certain I "did not have a concussion." Having suffered a few in the past, I'm familiar with them & know I had one, but she didn't even inquire or examine ANYTHING before concluding otherwise, seemingly out of thin air. At this point I had to self-advocate for what I was experiencing. Surprisingly, she suddenly said I needed a head CT, despite having almost dismissed me as having no concussion. She refused to write the letter I'd originally come in for after I declined CT. She prevented me from getting services and recommended imaging for a mild concussion she initially said I did not have. No self-rating pain scales, no cognitive/physical evaluation. No agency. Instead, she tried to subject me to unnecessary radiation and costs and delayed access to the treatment I actually needed. She does not listen and takes a very dated & authoritative approach. read more

DONT COME! Im in my last weeks of pregnancy so been having trouble with my obgyn for a referral and decided to try this pcp that I was assigned to. I have a bulging disc which is very noticeable and all she did was have a conversation instead of examen me to just say she can't help me. I had to tell her to at least look and feel my lower back which she used no gloves and just gave me couple pokes. I told her I couldn't bend down and barely walk so I needed a couple days off work. She left the room and 30 min later the MA came in with a work excuse for just the day and for me to return the next day to work. I'm in serious pain and this was just so disappointing to drive an hour and not even get a proper evaluation. No type of resolution or interest in helping . read more

It is advisable to avoid wasting your time as I unfortunately did. My appointment was scheduled for 10:40 AM. I called to verify the address and was informed at 9:40 AM that I needed to arrive at the office by 10:20 AM due to the nature of the appointment, which was a patient establishment appointment, indicating it was my initial meeting with Kathleen. I arrived at 10:11 AM and was promptly attended to by a courteous older lady who recorded my weight, blood pressure, and temperature. However, I was then left unattended for over an hour. At no point did anyone come into the room to inform me that she was running late or to offer the option to reschedule. There appears to be a significant lack of communication between the providers and patients in this practice. I would have been understanding if I had been kept informed, but the disregard for patients' time is quite disappointing. read more

Waited for an hour and 30 minutes all while Dr. Morgan was sitting in her office. I saw her when I arrived and she was there when I walked out. If you are 15 min or more late they will make you reschedule. I hate going to the doctor and had been putting it off. I finally decide to go, and this happens. Guaranteed she will try to make a claim on my insurance. I will be calling to make sure this doesn't happen. read more

Very poor experience. I waited for one hour in the exam room. Hugging patients is unprofessional and inappropriate. No sink or hand sanitizer in the exam room, so you don't know if she washed her hands or not. She ended the appointment saying she would get back to me after she checked on something with another doctor. She never did. After waiting a week I tried calling the office to follow up. You must first call a general number and be transferred to the doctor's office. The hold time was very long, up to 40 minutes even though the machine said "9 minutes" and twice I was told that no one in the office was picking up the phone. They refused to give me the direct number to the office. After 40 minutes on hold I was told the the doctor was too busy to speak to patients without an "appointment" which I assume means they will bill me for that second "appointment" even though I just needed a few minutes on the phone. I clearly explained that I did not want another "appointment" but they scheduled one anyway without telling me. The office is clearly too busy to handle all the appointments they make. I got the feeling that no one in the office cared enough to really understand what I was saying and just kept repeating that I needed to make another "appointment". I was very disappointed because I told Dr. Morgan that I was looking for a primary care doctor that I could reach and communicate with. She should have just been honest and said that she is really too busy for any more patients instead of wasting my time and not doing what she told me she would do. read more

Dr. Morgan is such a wonderful doctor. I have been going to her for 3 years and I have been very happy. She takes time to ask questions about your health and is very informative. She has great bedside manner and is such a kind person. The office is always clean and the staff is very professional and kind. read more

Dr. Morgan is the absolute worst. Every time I go see her there is a LONG wait and I mean not the standard. She is always running behind and when she sees you it feels so rush and impersonal. I am definitely changing doctors. read more

I saw Dr. Morgan for the first time on 11/30. While we have to get some baselines and try a couple of things, she spent a very long time with me...listening and asking questions. I felt that she was engaged in the conversation. I have had poor luck finding a decent physician lately, but I am very happy staying with her office and staff. Everyone was friendly and professional. She was a bit late getting to me, but if she spent that much time with her patients before me, it was worth the wait. read more

I would rate this doctor negative stars if I could. She is very sarcastic and does not take your health care and your concerns seriously. First of all, I was having severe stomach issues and it took 2 months to get in for an appointment. I was disappointed to hear than she was not willing to prescribe anything or run any tests. She refused to give me a referral for an allergen specialist when I was having allergic reactions to foods I was eating. All she had to say was "eat healthier and exercise more." I am an athlete so I do exercise up to 3 hours a day and eat healthy. My second appointment, she wanted to run a blood test for something that had to do nothing with that. It's obvious she only cares about the money, not her patients lives. read more

I called on a Tues. morning to speak w/ Dr. Morgan. & left a message w/ her nurse Claudia. Today is Friday & I still hadn't gotten a call back. I did speak to Dr. Morgan later in the day & she said Claudia says I never called or left a message. She didn't want to hear my concerns. She kept saying she had to see her patients who were there & I needed to schedule an appointment. Very rude/unprofessional. I cannot believe this doctor has a license. For the first few appointments Kathleen's bedside manner is misrepresented. I went in for a wart on my foot, she came in did not wash her hands in front of me, did NOT wear gloves, and froze my wart. She then went to touch the computer then freeze my skin tag on my neck and left without washing her hands. Can we talk about BASIC hand washing. Second I have a monthly adderall prescription that she couldn't get right; she put the year 2002 instead of 2020 so I had to take the prescription back have her write a new one then take it back to cvs (week time frame). She then refused to write the prescription when she missed the due date for the third time; when I asked her why she refused to continuing writing a prescription she refused to answer and just said that would be best. This doctor is so lazy she denies prescription due to her lack of basic knowledge! On top of all of this I originally saw her for a referral to a neurologist because I cannot move my wrist, even brought her nerve study test that shows abnormalities and it took her three months, 4 appointments and several phone calls later and a formal complaint with the medical board did I get the referral. This doctor is extremely lazy and should NOT have a license. Lastly I had blood work to check my levels and my triglycerides were high; her response was eat a Mediterranean diet gave me a google printout out on what that diet includes. I stated that is my diet as I have a gluten allergy and she just told me to eat high Mediterranean diet. I stated I'm 30 and have never had high triglycerides what is the cause and how else can I change this; she couldn't give me a response. Sadly it was my Gynocologist who explained it. Looking forward to actually having a real doctor for my future primary needs! Oh and not to mention the LACK of communication between Claudia and the doctor, always waiting 30min+ before even seeing the doctor. Her office should be shut down at minimum inspected! read more

I'm am so happy I finally found a doctor I can talk to and feel comfortable with. As I walked into Pioneer Medical Group, the staff was friendly and gave me a tour of the practice which made me feel welcomed and at home. I was seen first by the nurse who got my basic information and I didn't wait long at all to see Dr. Morgan. She is so kind and listens with her heart. I immediately felt at ease with her. I recently overcome a struggle in my life and she made me feel all the better. I know now I have a place to address my health needs and that truly cares. Thank you Dr. Morgan read more

I always wonder why I stick with HMO I was 10 minutes late and I called to be courteous bad move I should have just showed up I probably would of been seen so much for trying to be a decent person. They said I was already late to my appointment I don't understand it takes them 20 to 30 minutes to always see me so being late 10 minutes did t make sense. They were not at all accommodating to a traffic accident life happens to wait another month to see your doctor because you were 10 minutes late it doesn't make sense. Well just make sure if you come here to leave your destination a couple of hours earlier just in case life happens. I'm switching providers read more

I love Dr. Morgan! She's so kind and patient. I'm so thankful I found her. I did have to wait about an hour past my appointment time, but that's not her fault. I moved to downtown Long Beach recently and needed to find myself a new Doctor. After some research on the internet, I decided to make an appointment with Doctor Kathleen Morgan. Finding the right Doctor can be very difficult, so I was nervous. Her office was close to where I live, so I took the 5 minute walk, because I do need the exercise and it seemed silly to take my car...... to the Talbert Medical Group on Alamitos Ave., for my appointment with Dr. Morgan. Wow....was I surprised and impressed... I left there knowing I had found the Doctor for me and I hadn't...... wasted my time. I have never in my life, and I am a 60 year old women, had a doctor spend so much time with me. She was thorough, kind, patient, professional....and just really sweet. Asked me all kinds of questions about my health issues. I was impressed. It was my first visit and she was prompt...I only waited in the examination room about 5 minutes, after the nurse took my vitals, etc., before the Doctor entered. I was in and out within an hour and 15 minutes, paperwork and all,..and most of that time, was spent with her, in the examination room. I'm a happy camper, and definitely made the right choice for me. She will be my Doctor....my search is over. A pleasant experience. read more

Eye rolling, flippant, sarcastic. Offered a band aid for an issue that needs to be explored in order to see if there are underlying issues that could be serious. I was floored and disgusted by "Dr." Morgan's attitude and over all careless demeanor. She came across as weary and put off. She seemed incapable of hearing my perspective concerning my own body and insisted that she didn't want to argue. Duh!! Scheduled a pap smear a month in advance and was told when I got in the office that they wasn't going to do it because it's been 2 1/2 years since my last one as opposed to the 3 years that is recommended. Will be filing a grievance tomorrow. My insurance will not be paying for services not rendered. Visit was a complete waste of time and I will be finding another doctor with better service! read more

I recently had my first appointment with doctor Morgan first impressions say a lot and I was not impressed. Apparently she has a limited time with each patient yet she uses this time to ask questions that have nothing to do with why a patient is in there so the reasons for my being there were not addressed I had to make an appointment with another doctor the same day to get my issue addressed. In my opinion Doctor Morgan doesn't seem to really care about her patients or maybe it was just with me maybe she only likes certain patients. In my opinion if you have a limited time with a patient then a doctor should address what the patient is in there for and at least try and show some concern this doctor seems very cold I will be switching doctors and would not recommend her. Her medical assistant was kind enough to inform me at the beginning we had limited time which I did appreciate but the most was not made of this limited-time. read more

I had a wonderful experience today at Dr. Morgan's office - Pioneer Medical Group. I was treated with respect and quickly. I liked the digital way of checking in for service. I did not wait long. The nurse, was very clear and asked appropriate questions of me. Then Dr. Morgan was wonderful. She spent time with me and was very proactive in ordering tests for me. Mind you, I have not serious conditions and my physical will not be scheduled till October because that is when I am due to have it completed. The Pioneer Group Office is very efficient and I was able to get my blood work completed immediately. I scheduled my mammogram and a full body bone scan immediately. I am very impressed and so happy to find such a caring group of medical experts. read more
