Service was excellent. I was searching for an ENT specialist to fix my eardrums. My insurance app…read morefound this location being flexible and easy to get appointments. First time here, I didn't have any issues. The doctor gave me a medication. It kind of fixed the problem but I think the symptoms went away on its own. Other than a shocking side effects that almost sent me to the emergency room, I was back to normal. My second time here was to get an allergy test before they can formulate the serum for my allergy shot. Ok. This seems pretty simple. I followed the instructions to prepare my test. I didn't have to wait. The staff poked me a few times (about 82 times) and generated a report. Then, the doctor came in to explain the results and the next step. There were two options, daily drop under the tongue or weekly shots. I thought it was bothersome and expensive for daily dose, nearly $400 for 3 months. He said weekly shots are about the same price. Treatments would last 3 years or longer. I told him I can't do it now because I have some major events I need to attend. He said it would take time to formulate the serum anyway. I was happy that test was done with no side effects. But I am in pain for my wallet. Upon check out, I almost fall to the floor. They charged over $600, including copay for the test. I didn't get any warning. Ugh. I'm so upset and not going back again. I can't afford to get the shots, not even one drop. Tomorrow is the first, the rent needs to be paid. Update: a day later, I called my insurance company and asked them if this provider sent in my procedure for approval. The response was shocking. Nope. So, I removed another star.

Then they need a credit card before you can complete it which turned me off, then you get an email bill which says it's not a bill but you may be charged out of nowhere and thats stressful, plus it's in same building as Sara Goel whom I reported to Texas Medical Board and many reviews complain of illegal billing practices on their insurance on Google and Yelp which made me cancel my appointment immediately this morning! I did it online said cancelled and I took screenshot and also called because they are sneaky. The girl says I have to sign a waiver to get a copy of authorization they made me sign which says I HAVE A RIGHT TO A COPY AND THEY STILL HAVENT EMAILED IT TO ME NOR CALLED SO I WILL REPORT THEM AS WELL SINCE THEY HAVE ALL MY PERSONAL MEDICAL AND BILLING AND INSURANCE INFO! Today The Center for Hearing and Speech had free hearing screenings. How did I find out? Yelp…read moreEvents, that's how!!! At 2:27 I opened yelp events and realized I forgot all about it. I called over there and asked if it would be ok if I came on by for the screening since it was supposed to be over at 3. The kind lady on the phone said "come on"!! I grab the kid and sped down Shepherd to get there by 2:43. We only almost died twice. We were in and out in 10 minutes. First, they performed the standard headphones with the tones test. Raise your hand when you hear a sound. But, he did not do well on that one so she put these things in his ears that sent out beeps and measured how his inner ear reacted. The boy flunked his test (first test he has ever flunked.) The Audiologist told us to go to our pediatrician and have him get on an antibiotic to make sure there is NO infection in his ears, then come back and get the full diagnostics. She asked about our insurance, which we have none, and luckily they have a sliding scale based on income. So, hopefully when all is said and done, this will not break the bank. I really appreciated the intern who posted this event on Yelp Events.

This place is phenomenal! After failing his newborn hearing…read morescreen, our son was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss and then aided at 2 months. We didn't have a clue where to start on helping him develop spoken language and listening skills. The Center put us on the right track with weekly therapy sessions that also gave me good speech activities to do at home. Our first therapist was Hannah for a few sessions and then we saw Miriam until the time our son was released from the program. Miriam really took us under her wing and helped tremendously. I learned so much about his hearing loss and how to work with him. The audiology department is wonderful as well. They offer hearing tests for babies including diagnostic ABR testing. They can do everything right there including sound boith testing, making molds, etc. except for sedated testing which they refer to Texas Children's Hospital. We've worked with several of the audiologists and all of them are professional and knowledgeable. Our son is now 4 years old and you can't even tell he has hearing loss by listening to him talk. He was released from his sessions at 2 years old because he was testing at and above age appropriate listening and speech skills. Everyone from the receptionists to the billing department have been friendly and helpful. They also have a library where you can check out all kinds of resources to help you and your little one with hearing loss. We are grateful to everyone at the Center who helped us through the first part of our journey!
