I gave her a $20 tip making it $240 and then she started charging me $240. I didn't leave a tip after that and was always reminded that people always tip. I started paying $240 for the next few visits. Last September she did all four of them in an hour, so she basically got $240 for an hour's work. Recently I dropped off all 4 pets again as I had done many times before (2 cats and 2 small dogs) and after the appointment, Danielle sprung a total of $320 on me saying her costs had gone up and without any warning or prior discussion of the increase change, she threatened to call the cops if I didn't pay. I was absolutely shocked. She said if I wanted to keep having my pets groomed by her, I'd have to pay $95 for each of them next time or don't bother coming back. She later recanted that to $80/each. After some back and forth discussion, she finally agreed to the $240 for the last appointment, but later texted me making me feel bad by insulting me. I had to block her and won't be going back again. She has tried increasing the price after the fact other times, but I just thought she forgot what she had quoted me because she had a tendency to forget conversations and also appointment times. She isn't very organized. It was clear from this last incident that she does not honour her quotes and it's common practice for her to charge more after she's completed the job. I find this unethical and am disappointed things had to end the way they did. Read the reviews and always confirm the cost in writing in advance so this doesn't happen to you. That said, it didn't matter to her even after I showed her the texts she sent me that clearly confirmed the cost. It's obvious she doesn't care about losing customers or she would never embarrass and humiliate a customer the way she did me. In a way she did me a favour because Lake Country was quite far for us to drive anyway and also, I could never trust her with my pets again after this ordeal.

I was told that the groom was going to be about 3 hours. When I arrive back to pick up my dog, nothing I asked for was done. I had to send him back to have his bum done. I paid $81.90 plus a tip for the groom. When I got home and really had a chance to look at my dog, it was worse than I thought. I emailed the owner and received a call back the next day. I took my dog back in to have him redone. I was advised by the owner that the person who accepted my dog was only the dog bather and not a groomer. I'm not sure how the groomer is supposed to know what I want when the groomer hasn't spoken to me or seen the picture I showed. For every question I asked, there was an excuse. When I inquired whether the $81.90 was the price for a full groom or a tidy, she told me that that's what they had charged me because they charged by the hour. My regular groomer takes an hour and a half and does an amazing job. Unfortunately, she's away right now.I'm not sure why it takes 3 hours. Is this so they can charge more? I've never heard of a place charging by the hour. I'm finding that groomers are charging more ($80+ for a small to medium dog) but most grooms are mediocre. It's very hard to find a good groomer now. Kelowna Paw Spa's website shows nothing but positive 5 star reviews. I honestly don't think that every customer they have gives them a five 5 review. I'm only giving them a one star review because I can't give them a zero.

Brought in my 2 year old, 7 pound puppy to get her nails groomed. Frank was grabbing her by the…read moretail while he was trimming her nails, which began to freak her out. When she understandably tried to nip at his hand and run, he proceeded to pull her off the table by the tail and hung her above his head for several seconds. Didn't even bother to grab her by her harness. Also saw 2 other dogs kept in kennels (which were way too small for their size) that were visibly shaking and in a state of fear. Do NOT take your dog here. Frank works alone and without supervision, and other dog owners leave them in his care while they carry our their daily duties which is frightening, because I assume they've never truly seen how he operates. His workspace was also very unkempt and untidy, which is most likely a factor in some of the other dogs contracting kennel cough after their stays here. SPCA has been notified and conducting an investigation.
