This update is meant to address Katia's response to my initial review. 1) She mentioned that I did not pay her regularly and that I did not pay her enough. I have attached pictures of my Venmo transactions with her. It is evident that she is lying about this matter. I have covered up her last name from the statement to respect her privacy. 2) She hurled expletives at me under the guise of a yelp 'compliment' in response to my review. A picture of the expletive is also attached. It is my opinion that she is not only a pathological liar but also a dangerous individual. I didn't want to post but the mom shaming just bothers me so much. (I have video and text proof) of our correspondence. We have nest in the living room and she was on speaker. In addition to text messages. Long and short- The lady is a dog walker and I reached out for a meet and greet to take my dog to the beach. First meet and greet- she calls me 15 min past our appt time asking for directions. Told her I just moved here a few weeks ago and that I just use google Maps. 5 min later, not sure why she's not using google maps but baby is getting fussy so I ask to reschedule since I only allotted a certain amount of time for our meeting. We rescheduled for Sunday 7am the next morning and told I plan on our meeting between 7a-7:30am. 7:10am I text her. 7:20am I call her and she said she's walking out the door. I told her I thought she was supposed to come over at 7am. She said- clearly you are an unhappy person. This isn't going to work and hung up. Back in California, we had an amazing dog walker who took our dog to the beach. She was upfront about her timing in the morning and we agreed on a pick up window between 7am-10am. Besides that, she had to judge me as a mom and tells me to "buck it up." Wow, what if my daughter had a medical condition that she didn't know about? I always try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt because you never know what they are going through behind closed doors. Then I get this text from the lady, same day, at around 5pm. I have nothing against her. If I were working with clients, I definitely would have handled this correspondence differently. read more

Did not want to write this review but believe it is important to share our recent experience. We booked with Katia in early November to pet sit our dog, Rudy, and cat, Mali, over Christmas. Rudy is special needs and requires medications multiple times a day. On Christmas Eve, Katia texted asking if Mali had any hiding places. We told her all the places to look and asked her to let us know when she found Mali. When we didn't hear back, we called. Katia kept saying, "Everything is great" but would not say where Mali was. We asked again in different ways and same answer until it began to get scary. She didn't know where Mali was. She changed stories of when she last saw Mali then hung up. We couldn't reach her because her phone was turned off. That's when we asked our friends for help and messaged Katia, "Our friends who know Mali will come help you find her". Still no response. At this point my husband was looking for flights home. When we finally did get Katia on the phone again and insisted on going room to room with her, we found Mali locked in a closet. Katia said her husband came over to help search. It was obvious she was concerned but was not upfront with us. After we found Mali, she did not send photos that night even though we asked her twice. The rest of the trip was uneasy. We got a call at 10 PM one night from a neighbor saying our garage door was open. No response from Katia when we texted her, so our neighbor had to step in. She claimed later that she was in the side yard with Rudy, but this was not true. On the last day Katia left earlier than what she agreed to. My husband and I each got long texts from her saying we were mean about our cat being lost and asking our friends to help her. She said our neighbors were nosy and she did not want to watch our pets anymore. We chose not to respond. At home we found no water in the bowls, TV was on, dirt tracked through the house, food and make up stains on the counter, and her food left in the fridge. Katia left post-it notes repeating the texts she sent us. Later we found Rudy's medicine still in the pill box, so he wasn't given all his meds. Also, his food in the fridge was not used because she gave him other food which he did not eat. It was obvious Katia didn't care for us or our neighbor. However, she still messaged my husband and left cards asking to do business with him. She also told my neighbors to call her if they needed pet/house sitting. We are stricken by this experience and regret putting Rudy and Mali under this person's care. We believed Katia and paid what she requested plus a tip upfront. There is no way we would recommend Katia's service to anyone. As with other negative reviews Katia has received, she will respond to this blaming the owners. read more

I was leaving town and at the last minute decided to not take my cats with me. They are old and hate change. Found Katia's online and called. Very responsive and came to my house for an introduction. She was friendly and asked the right questions. While I was gone I got updates and even photos of my cats. Felt reassured they were in good hands. On my return home I found my cats happy, the mail on my desk, the plants watered and even the garbage taken out. I will defiantly call them next time. read more

I was in the area for the holidays and Katia's service was recommended to me by a local acquaintance. Katia was so kind and professional! It was quite a relief to not have to worry about my two dogs while we were out for the day. Katia was excellent about keeping in touch with me while we coordinated our trip and other plans. I hadn't travelled with my dogs before and wanted to keep it as stress-free as possible for them. Katia did a great job exercising them so they were calm and happy. I can't recommend Katia highly enough. She's much more than a dog-walker to us. She has taken care of my cavachon Lenny since she was a little pup, and has helped so much with her socialization and has just provided her tons of adventure and quality of life. Katia comes and gets Lenny during the weekdays while my girlfriend and I are at work and takes her to parks, on walks, to the beach, pretty much everything a dog loves. She's taken her to grooming appointments, vet appointments, even to an obedience class when I was unable to attend. When my girlfriend and I have gone out of town on trips Katia has graciously boarded Lenny while we were away. Lenny loves her and is always excited to see her and her little terrier Ringo, who has become Lenny's best doggie friend.
