The encounter I experienced with anesthesiologist Dr Woodward who had My Life in his hands... was horrific. I did not feel safe!!!!! A horrible feeling while completely vulnerable. His ego, OMG. I hope the hospital HR reads this and contacts me. No call from anesthesia night prior- even tho I was told they would contact me- I had concerns, and questions. When I tried to have a pre-op conversation with DR Woodward, He shut me down repeatedly. All he cared about was my signature. Hurry up! Sign this. He just wanted to start. Seriously an absolute traumatic awful feeling. He was barking at the pre op nurse to hurry up with my IV. She was clearly rattled by him. My IV "blew". I complained. She made the decision to start another. He was clearly pissed at her decision and let me know "there is nothing sharp, nothing is hurting you". (As if at 66 years old I didn't know what an IV should feel like?") The second one started to hurt before it was in, now he got really pissed- he repeated his "nothing sharp statement", (I'd love to kick him in his testicular place and tell him it should not hurt because there is nothing sharp!" The nurse was trying her best to hurry under his command. Then he grabbed the mask. He couldn't bother with my needs. He just wanted to shut me up. He put me out! From the time he first introduced himself to the time he knocked me out- 6 minutes tops! Before the IV. In the pre-op room!! WTF???? I verbally told him I was anxious. My chart shows PTSD. I was actually crying! His action was far from "STANDARD of CARE"! He provided none of the bedside courtesy such as-"I'm doing this, next is this."----- Did I forget all this when I woke up? Nope! It is seared in my memory. Dear Dr Woodward- I am a kind person with a soul, not simply a case number and YOU did me very very wrong!! VERY VERY WRONG!!! I pray for GOD to touch you and help you understand how your negligent actions affect others. I deserved respect. I deserved kindness. I received neither. Maybe you should consider another line of work. The shoulder block you rushed to do was incorrectly placed numbing my diaphragm thus sending me home on oxygen (Your skill falls very short of your elevated ego). As I came out of anesthesia I I heard you tell the OR nurse that my heart rate dropped to 30 so u gave me a medication to correct this. I reported hearing this to my husband because it was concerning. I just read the surgical anesthesia report you prepared. You falsified the record indicating my heart rate fell to 40 not 30. You going to tell me I misheard?? Nope! I believe falsely documenting medical records is a crime!! I've had many (5) major surgeries including anesthesia. I'm fully educated on what a Standard of Care should be.

I called was given a runaround that since part of the total bill includes a knee brace that I received in April, and since it is now July that made it in arrears, even though the knee brace has never shown up on any bill. Today is July 30th, the person at their billing department told me that the actual, detailed bill, including the cost of the brace, was mailed yesterday, July 29th, and that I can expect to receive it any day now, but it could still go to collections.

He walked in the exam room did a few clinical exams and stated it's not your hip, it's your back. Go to physical therapy and if it's not better here is the spine guys card. Two of the physical therapists he recommended said not your back, it's your hip. Does he not read their progress notes? Three more months of unnecessary pain and a trip to the Mayo Clinic to be told, yep, not your back it's a chronically inflamed bursa of the hip. Not everyone can go to the Mayo Clinic and if Dr Thomas Eickmann was a decent clinician we would have treated in Denver. We have seen other providers at this office and had very positive outcomes.

I've attempted to find other doctors to fix the misalignment or mechanical blockage that is causing mobility in my right leg I have been rejected because cornerstone installed in me and no one else will work on it and cornerstone has abandoned me. I haven't received any medical records or any reason they threw me out. I have no medical care for my implants that were performed by cornerstone. I have been going in to see them for several different reasons first one was my right foot has a broken bone in it that grew wrong after cornerstones orthopedic doctors reviewed ME 3 different times they claim they can't find anything. Subject: Formal Complaint for Patient Abandonment and Withholding of Medical Records Practitioner/Facility Name: Cornerstone Orthopedics & Sports Medicine To the Medical Board: I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding patient abandonment and the withholding of medical records by Cornerstone Orthopedics. This sudden termination of care has left me with a non-functioning joint implant, severe mobility limitations, and no access to necessary ongoing medical treatment. 1. Background of Care and Complications I underwent a total right knee replacement performed by Cornerstone Orthopedics on [2021]. Since the surgery, the knee has not functioned correctly. I am experiencing what feels like a severe misalignment or a mechanical blockage that limits the mobility of my right leg and causes ongoing issues extending down to my foot. 2. Sudden Termination and Patient Abandonment To address these worsening complications, I scheduled an appointment with Cornerstone Orthopedics to review both my right knee and my foot. I was able to attend exactly one follow-up visit on in 2025. Immediately following this visit, Cornerstone Orthopedics abruptly terminated our provider-patient relationship. I was told not to return to the clinic. No formal, written notice of termination was provided, no reason was given for my dismissal, and no emergency care or transitional coverage (typically required by law to avoid abandonment) was offered, Because they changed there name by law there is nothing the State can do.. 3. Severe Impact on Continuity of Care Because Cornerstone Orthopedics performed the initial surgery and placed the hardware inside my leg, I am completely locked out of the healthcare system. I have proactively contacted multiple alternative orthopedic surgeons to fix the mechanical blockage and misalignment. However, every doctor has rejected me as a patient because Cornerstone Orthopedics installed the implants, and other physicians refuse to touch or modify another clinic's recent surgical hardware. Consequently, I am left completely destitute of medical care for a major, failing surgical implant. 4. Failure to Release Medical Records To date, I have not received any copies of my medical records, operative reports, imaging, or a formal discharge explanation from Cornerstone Orthopedics. Withholding these records further prevents any outside doctor from understanding the specifications of the hardware used, compounding the medical risk I face daily. Conclusion and Request for Investigation Cornerstone Orthopedics has breached the medical standard of care by severing ties with a post-operative patient in active distress without ensuring a safe transfer of care. I was in the exam room with my partner and my best friend, and he treated both of them, as well as me, as valid and present partners in my health care. The office staff were warm, kind, and efficient, and I left after 50 minutes knowing exactly what the next 6 months should look like for my recovery. It's too bad he's only a trauma specialist, I'd go to Dr. Smith for everything if I could. But I'm glad he's a specialist. He saved me $X,000 in costs for surgery, plus down time, and reassured me I'd be back on my back as soon as *I* felt ready. I am less than two weeks out of surgery so it is hard to tell but he checked me knee today and we are on track - no complications or red flags. He and his staff were great communicators about the procedure, aftercare, medications, next steps and follow up appointments. They have been responsive to concerns, requests and inquiries.
