Her online portfolio…read morewas impressive of course, but given there is literally a small window of time to get the "perfect" newborn photos, I was very nervous. I got burned with my wedding photographer (so many many years ago, but I was so unhappy with finished product that I feel like it was yesterday), so I did not want the same to happen again with another of life's important milestones. But it was so unnecessary - April is so patient, so professional, and so kind! She bonded with my newborn immediately and took her time to get the best shots. I mean she REALLY took her time. You can tell she understands and realizes that every shot is a reflection of her work and the pride in her work, and she takes no shortcuts. Her studio is ?in flux - she is supposedly trying to find a new studio, but in all honesty, her current one seemed fine to me (ignorance is bliss?). Her prices (session+photos) are not cheap, however they are indeed reasonable given her level of expertise. Remember you get what you pay for, and what you pay for is an experienced professional and excellent photography. I am in the process of ordering announcements and print photos from her now (so difficult as so many of the proofs are simply gorgeous), and I am sure I will not be disappointed. I will update my review when they are delivered. I highly recommend April (she is also seemingly the "newborn whisperer" in my opinion, LOL...I wanted to take her home with me for those 3am crying spells!) UPDATE: Got my announcements and photos! Failed to follow through on contract for my Wedding day…read more Robyn took minimal photos of bridal party as well as the Bride and Groom. She was contracted to provide 400-600 hi-res files within 4 weeks of event. I received less than 400 files 5 plus weeks after wedding date. The photos appeared to look as they were not edited. Secondly, Robyn was hired for 6.5 hours and she left the event approximately 4 hours into the event. When we reached out to express our disappointment and the fact that she fell short on providing services outlined in her contract she suggested we meet for a photo shoot. Her suggestion was worthless to us as we wanted her services for our wedding date not a random date. Icing on the cake... we have a special needs grandchild which she was not considerate of when taking photos that included him. She came close to grabbing him (but did raise her voice to him) which almost prompted a reaction from my daughter. I DO NOT suggest or recommend using Robyn as she does not hold to her contract and expects the client to remind her of what she has included in her contract. Then basically wants you to get over it. I could think of a better place to have my baby's first birthday party. This place is amazing…read more First of all, Willis and his crew are great to work with. They allowed us first to have a tour around the studio and showed us what it has to offer. Willis responds quickly when I ask him questions via online or text and he was very professional. Studio 87 has enough parking spots -- we had about 50 people (with kids though). Their staff did not interfere with our party whatsoever. The space was enough for 8 long tables (that's all that we needed but there's space for more). They have a kitchen with every basic needs such as the fridge, coffee maker, microwave, and a couple of long tables. They have two restrooms. One of which has a diaper changing station. They have a bar, a TV (we did not really use them as a "bar," but just as a dessert table). They have an iPad which could play music throughout the entire room. I mean, seriously -- a lot of my guests were asking how I found out about this place. I honestly just found it online and it is within the vicinity of where I and most of my friends and family live but I am so glad I found out about it. It is very modern and the space is big enough for pretty much any event I could think of (birthday party, baby shower, bridal shower, wedding reception, art gallery, photoshoots, etc.). I don't know why but I felt pretty proud that I "discovered " Studio 87 because they made my baby's first birthday party memorable!
