I requested a "move-in" clean. I advised that the townhome had been unoccupied for a few years. I advised that our things were in the home but I needed a good once over before I felt comfortable putting things away... I can say FOR SURE two things were done that are listed on the contract... The toilets were gross from hard water and they were sparkling clean after. My oldest child's bathroom was clean, floors clearly mopped... Cabinets... ummm... and then I went to warm up take out for my son... VERY communal microwave in the office. My tub.. nope. Vents dusted, (even though they are sited in the quote)... Nope. Doors wiped down? You guessed it... NOPE. Despite how upset I was I tried nicely to convey that the invoice needed adjustment. I was met with begging to come play around in my home (no thanks), then gaslighted to try to believe that I can't read or see either. THEN LEGIT arguing with this lady about messaging me at odd hours of the night. The most basic understanding of consumer law states that even collection agencies can only correspond during certain hours. Only for me today to decide that it's not worth the wasted energy... Only for I guess her to pretend the interaction didn't happen yesterday??? This is truly the strangest, most disappointing interaction with a small business owner I have EVER had. She made very strange and incorrect statements about my financial status ASSUMING I would not be able to cover the bill, my knowledge of business practices, education level and... HEAVENS! The reason I contacted Bowersock originally was because of great reviews...He responded to me…read morequickly and I hired him..Ours was a total kitchen remodel..Even some structural changes..He brought with him a man to give an estimate for new cabinets..He turned out to be a great guy who did amazing work...As the work began and progressed, Kevin was easy to work with and he did fine work..He would even go the extra mile, here and there...He sub-contracted our porcelain tile floor, and paid them from the total of our contract with him...It looked very nice, when completed...The job finished and we had a lovely kitchen..We were very pleased..The job finished in early July, 2016.. So why the low rating?..We are still entangled with Kevin Bowersock..About 2 months after the job finished, the grout in our new floor began to crack and even break out...I informed Kevin, and then contacted the company, Local Hands, who had done the tile..They were very slow to get back to me, but finally did and in November 2016 a man from Local Hands came by and looked at the floor...He absolutely agreed that it needed to be fixed...They finally arrived to re-grout in January 2017...Within 6 weeks the tile began to crack again...I emailed Kevin to let him know of the issue and tried to contact Local Hands..They have never again responded to me... Of course, I had to go back to Kevin with this issue..The tile needed to be fixed and it was ultimately his responsibility...I sent emails back and forth with Kevin between March and August of 2017, with no resolution.. Many emails later, in December 2017, Kevin got back to me and we agreed to address the issue the first of 2018...Many emails later I heard from Kevin in March...No resolution... In April of this year, we had a flooring company come to remove and replace the tile, properly...That, nearly 2 years after the tile was originally done..The cost was $3,252.31...We paid for our tile floor twice...Kevin ignores most emails...He finally called me in July, he acknowledged that the cost was his responsibility and offered a payment monthly, until it was paid..We got the first payment almost immediately and nothing since...And again, he ignores my emails... Kevin does very good work, unless something goes wrong..Then, I wish you good luck..I suppose we will end up in court..

Kayla, the owner of the company, is super nice and can provide lots of services within the company. We wanted to have furniture moved as well as a TV mounted. We were able to do this and potentially even more within the same company - talk about convenience! The moving service costs $125/hr prorated (so quarter and half hours are not the full price). There is also a fee for truck usage and additional protective packaging (don't remember the cost but overall reasonable). Our TV was mounted for $75 (for a 45 inch TV). Services of this nature also had a $100 deposit. I wasn't present at the move (that's my boyfriend's job!), so I'll provide his testimony as well. He said the movers, Ace and Adrian, were friendly and conversational and could help with partial disassembly and reassembly of larger furniture items. They also moved very quickly and were able to finish the large job in about the amount of time I was quoted. Other services that they provide aside from the moving are packing, furniture assembly, and other handyman services like painting and minor wall repairs. I know that ideally one does not move frequently, but I'd refer back to this company should I move again!

Let me just say--Hermit's was totally worth it! Working with Kayla to get everything scheduled was also a breeze, all I had to provide was a $100 deposit for the move, and I ended up needing to reschedule to the following day--Kayla made that happen with no problem! For my own move, Ace and Adrian were very friendly and super helpful. They made the stress of moving disappear while they took apart my furniture and carried all of my boxes up and down the stairs (yes, stairs!). Despite living on the third floor, they had no problems with the constant up-and-down movements and tight corners of apartment stairwells. The prices quoted were extremely reasonable for the amount of work done, and moving supplies are provided by Hermits (at a reasonable price). Furniture, TVs, and other delicate items were wrapped with care and lots of padding to make sure no damage occurred. Additional services include TV wall-mounting, furniture dis/assembly, and some other handyman things. I know moving is such a difficult and stressful process, but I'd highly recommend Hermit's for any moving needs and plan to use them again in the future should I need their services!

****Updated review**** Wow, what a difference a year makes…read more Yelp readers, this is a lesson in giving second chances even when you have a negative experience. So last year was a complete disaster. I had someone come and give me a quote and had no less than 4 broken promises of someone to come and do the install. A year later, my husband asked if we were going to try again. The owner did reach out last year after my negative review and an email I send to him apologizing after-all. Reluctantly, I reached out again this year. I contacted the owner directly. He responded right away and welcomed the opportunity to provide service this year (Christmas lights). 10/10 experience! Someone reached out scheduling my date, someone texted to confirm my date, someone called the day before to confirm the layout, we even FaceTimed! Someone called the day of to confirm again, and the confirmed person arrived on time! He did an amazing job. When I asked for one thing he confirmed I really wanted it like that and once he questioned it I realized I didn't, it wouldn't have looked good so I appreciated him asking as opposed to just doing it like the layout said. He tweaked things once he looked at it from a distance and I mean the entire experience was just amazing. So much so we are going to have them quote us some permanent outdoor lights for our backyard. Hands down I would recommend them.

Their guy showed up on the day of service but only finished half because apparently his equipment did not work. Came in the next day and told me he finished it, but when I got home I noticed my front brick of the house was not even touched and had lots of debris still. And that's where things went downhill. Even though I paid their overpriced invoice of over $650 right away as I thought they'll stand behind their work, I got nothing but run around from all their people who not only ignored my calls and even rescheduled me for the wash but never even showed up nor apologized for again wasting my time and eventually stopped returning my text, calls and emails!! they got their money and they're gone!!
