Don't shop at this furniture store. We purchased a vinyl set from them and immediately reported the item was damaged as the movers were leaving. We asked to get a new item as we were not purchasing a semi used product or last buy product and were aware of 2 more sets per the sales man. They immediately started avoiding us and pushing us towards the manufacturer when the right thing to do was replace the item. It's been over a month going back and forth with multiple people answering the phone and pretty much not caring or avoiding our calls. We also called from different cell numbers as it seems they have been avoiding my mom's and dad's phone number. My mom called and once again told them she did not want to get the item repaired as she paid for new set and wanted what she rightfully paid for a new quality item and even held on to the box. Representative expressed that they were not replacing her item and that she could do whatever she wanted with the box that they could care less. I honestly feel like they are taking advantage of my parents since they are older folks. I personally worked for a furniture store and would have never put a customer through this stress. I will be reporting this place to the better business bureau and continue to push my experience to alert consumers of their crooked ways. Most pathetic customer service i have ever received . The manager here is such a person who does now what customer service is. purchased 2 beds and 1 sectional sofa on May 23rd. The furniture was delivered within a couple of days, but the sectional sofa did not fit through my apartment hallway. As a result, the delivery personnel took it back the same day. Please note that the sofa never entered my home and was returned in the same condition in which it was delivered. When I visited the store to request a refund, I was immediately told that 25% would be deducted as a restocking fee. What is especially frustrating is that no one informed us at the time of purchase that the sectional sofa was not separable and came as a single large piece. Had this been clearly communicated, I would not have purchased it in the first place. This was a clear case of misrepresentation. Instead of resolving the issue properly, the store manager, whose attitude was extremely rude and dismissive, told me to return the next day. When I did, I was asked to look for another sofa as a replacement. Although I was not fully convinced, I agreed in an effort to resolve the matter peacefully. Later, the manager informed me that I would still be charged the 25% restocking fee ($100) as well as a $120 delivery fee. This was completely unfair and misleading, especially since I was initially given the impression that I could select a replacement without incurring additional charges. To avoid further conflict, I eventually agreed to accept a refund even with the 25% deduction. However, it has now been almost a month, and I have had to visit the store multiple times and call customer service at least 10 times, only to hear the same excuse every time: that the person responsible for writing the check is unavailable and that I should "come tomorrow." This level of service is unacceptable, unprofessional, and deeply frustrating. I have been harassed continuously over a matter that should have been resolved promptly and fairly. Be very careful before making a purchase at Katy Furniture. Before you pay, make sure you are willing to keep the item no matter what, as any change, exchange, or return may be costly. I purchased a couch for about $1,000 and later a bed for about $216. When the couch was delivered, one armrest would not fit properly and its installation team had to force it into place with a tool during assembly. For the bed, I paid a darker color but changed my mind before taking possession and requested the same bed in lighter color instead. I was told that, under company policy, I would have to pay a 25% fee to exchange it or lose 25% if I canceled the order. After several discussions with customer service, useless, even though I had never received the bed. Only after speaking directly with the owner was the fee reduced from 25% to 10%. I stumbled up in this furniture store as I was looking for a dining set for Thanksgiving. I was skeptical because of how empty and abandoned the store looks from outside but I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in & saw the variety and what seemed like quality furniture. The staff were helpful and not overbearing, which I appreciated. I wasn't happy that they didn't have any deliveries available until after Thanksgiving so we opted to pick up the dining set ourselves. I was pretty shocked to see the great prices, specifically compared to other furniture stores in the area (I did go check them out and the prices were higher) and wondered why more people don't talk about this furniture store more (not knowing what was to come). We purchased the dining set on Saturday and were told we could pick it up by Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning. We were able to pick everything up on Wednesday morning. Everything came in boxes and my husband started putting everything together right away. He quickly noticed that two of the chairs had different pieces in the boxes. I immediately called the store before they closed at 4 pm. The lady who answered said I had to email customer service and that they would likely be closed until Friday. That's all she said. I emailed them with all the information and photos and only received an automated email response. On Friday morning, my husband went back to the warehouse to exchange the chairs and was told that we had to wait for an email from customer service before bringing the chairs back. I called the store again and was told that yes, I needed to wait for an email and that there was nothing the store could do. I forwarded my initial email again to the customer service email & again, I inly received an automated response. Today, two weeks after my purchase date, I went to the store to get some resolution and speak with a supervisor and the only person I was able to speak to was a lady behind the counter jn the back who also told me that the store could not anything and that I had to wait for an email from customer service and that they are closed on the weekend!!! I am very upset at this point because they have taken their money, they have a NO REFUNDS policy and there isn't anyone to help resolve issues AFTER you make a purchase. I can't just sit around & wait for an email when I'm missing TWO whole chairs that I have already paid for! Remember when I wondered why more people don't talk about this store and why it's so empty? Well, now I know why! I WILL NEVER buy from here again. I rather pay more & know that at least I can talk to someone who can at least try to help. I spent over $8,000 on furniture from Katy Furniture and also paid Katy Furniture directly for delivery. During delivery, the third-party movers they hired put a hole in the wall of my brand-new home. When I contacted the store about the damage, I was given the runaround and told to email customer service. I did so and received no response. I then went to the corporate office in Katy in person to get help. The office employee, Nuvia, told me that I was responsible for contacting the third-party delivery company--even though I did not hire them and was never given their information. She stated that Tim, the warehouse manager, hires the delivery crew, yet she could not provide his direct contact information, last name, or any way to reach him. She said he would be in at 1:00 p.m., which raises serious concerns about professionalism and internal accountability. When I asked for a manager, I was told that "Stephanie" (no last name provided) was the manager but would not be in that day. I was given no solution, no contact information, and no accountability--only instructions to contact a third party whose identity they refused or failed to provide. It is completely unacceptable for a company to collect payment for delivery, cause damage to a customer's home, and then refuse to take responsibility or even provide basic information needed to resolve the issue. The service is HORRIBLE. We had furniture delivered and they put a large hole in the wall. We reached out to the customer service. No response. We reached out to the store and we get either no information or told to wait until someone calls us. Its been two weeks no one calls or emails so we go back to the store. Nuvia had no information and did not know anyone she worked with last name. She was completely useless. There was apparently no manager and the manager Stephanie was not coming in. Their selection sucks but the worst part is the way they sell you the item and make you sign a no refund agreement before you can even see the box. Several employees reassured me that I would be able to fit a table in my SUV before I purchased it. I get to the pick up area, the box wouldn't fit and the loader refused to assist. I should have read the reviews for this furniture store before giving my family the 'ok' to come and take a look at the furniture here. We've been looking for new barstools for what feels like an eternity for a new home. They came to this location and after taking a look around they found a set of stools that my family 'settled' on. Nothing special. We were in a rush because we have family visiting from out of town. Anyway. We were given a two week delivery window to come pickup the barstools at the same store with an exact date and time. We arrived at the date and time we were told to pickup the furniture and when we get there we were told that not only is the furniture not there, it's also no longer available and they don't know when they will be getting more. Uhhhhh... WTF? Ok. So you've known about this and didn't give us a heads up within the two weeks that we've been waiting for these stools to arrive? Jesus! Bought a sofa from here and about 4 months later, the frame entirely collapsed. Called Katy Furniture and said that I didn't buy a protection plan so there's nothing they could do. The frame is built with nothing but 4 pieces of plywood, and it seems that it was broken before arrival but was patched poorly. Definitely got ripped off. I would give them a zero if I could. I bought a sofa set from them about 2 months ago. I even paid for the delivery fee which was $175. The delivers came on time, but did not remove the packaging nor install the legs. When I informed them that I wanted to see the furniture before they left they told me that if there is any damage or anything wrong that I had 24 hours to contact Katy furniture. Well once unpacked I notice some damage and that i was missing one pillow. Customer service here is absolute garbage! You cannot get a live person to talk to at all. You must email the customer service. So I sent an email within hours of delivery with pictures of some damage and A missing pillow. They replied an stated that it only came with the 8 pillows that where delivered. When I sent them the image from the store and what is shown online (both clearly show 9 pillows) the stopped all contact. They did not even address the issue of the damage on the arm. I disputed the charge on my card and it took them almost a month to respond to the credit card company. Katy furniture said that the purchase was valid, so the credit card company said I cannot get a refund. Now i am stuck with a damaged couch and one less pillow than advertised. At first we were pretty pleased with our experience at Katy Furniture, the price was great, we got exactly what we wanted, and we weren't hassled by sales people for protection plans and extended warranties, etc. This part of the process was pain free. When our sectional was delivered, I helped the delivery men as our apartment is pretty awkward to get into. As the larger piece of the sectional came off the truck, I noticed a nick on the corner as we headed to the stairwell, but didn't think it was anything serious. We opted out of set up, so later that day upon removal of the plastic, we found that the nick on the corner of the couch was actually a rod sticking out. It would've been one thing if this had happened during delivery or while we were putting it together, but as I said before, I saw it as it came off the truck. One sectional piece is also missing a connector, so we are unable to connect the two sides together. As a result, there is a large gap that we're forced to cover up with cushions and pillows. I emailed customerservice@katyfurniture.com twice, receiving confirmation that it was received both times. Should've had a response within 24-48 hours according to the confirmation email, but never heard back. We were pleased with Katy Furniture's customer service at the start, but their lack of response is really disappointing. Originally we intended on returning to Katy Furniture for a TV stand, dining room set and buffet as our budget allowed, but if we're ignored when we have an issue, I guess we'll look elsewhere. read more
